He looked up with a face full of curiosity and asked, “Mom said you were still at work in Beijing when she called at noon. How did you get home by evening?”

Given his sister’s stinginess, she would never spend money on a plane ticket, and the train from Beijing to home couldn’t possibly be this fast.

Could it be that his big sister had finally splurged and flown back by plane?Full novel: Failed Tribulation, Return Home to Found a Sect — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

“I’ll tell you how I got back in a bit. Let me have a few bites of this cantaloupe first.”

“Go play your game over there and stop bothering your sister.”

With Father Tang’s command, even though he was bursting with questions, Tangxi Xuan could only obediently shut his mouth.

He rubbed the tip of his nose and flopped onto the sofa to play on his phone. Those at the bottom of the family hierarchy should speak less!

A little past eight in the evening, the family of four, full from eating fruit, rested on the living room sofa. Tangxi Xuan, who had been squeezed off the sofa, simply plopped down on the carpet to sit.

At this moment, Tang Ximo shed her usual playful and unserious demeanor, her expression turning serious and solemn. “Dad, Mom, Xuan, you might not believe this, but I traveled to a Cultivation world and lived there for a thousand years.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Tang Ximo saw the reactions she had expected.

Father Tang and Mother Xu first exchanged surprised glances, then looked at their daughter with concern.

Her silly dog of a younger brother, sitting on the carpet, propped himself up and reached out to feel her forehead.

The complex look in his eyes practically screamed that she must have burned her brain with a fever—otherwise, how could she possibly say something as absurd as traveling to a Cultivation world?

Knowing her family wouldn’t believe her so easily, she used an orange left in the oversized fruit bowl on the coffee table to give a demonstration.

With Spiritual Qi swirling around her fingertip, she casually pointed, and the orange on the table automatically peeled itself, even removing every last bit of the pith. Then, segment by segment, it floated to their mouths.

Witnessing this miraculous scene that defied scientific understanding, all three of them were stunned. It was Mother Xu who snapped out of it first, asking worriedly, “Tangtang, were you doing alright in the Cultivation World?”

Tang Ximo smiled faintly. “Of course I was! With my master and senior sisters and brothers taking care of me, life couldn’t have been better. And…”

She went on to recount what had happened after her transmigration, naturally leaving out the dangerous parts and picking only the memorable, less frightening stories to share.

By the time she finished, Tang Ximo felt like her mouth was about to smoke. She took a sip of water and sat quietly on the sofa, waiting for her family to digest such a massive amount of information.

The quickest to process it all was Tangxi Xuan, being the youngest. His eyes immediately lit up as he pounced on his sister, decisively nestling himself into her embrace.

“Sis, can you do Sword Flight? Can you take your little brother for a spin?”

No wonder his big sister could get home so fast—she’d had a Cultivation adventure!

Hearing this, Tangxi Hua and Xu Wanqing, as parents, looked at their daughter with concern and a hint of anticipation.

They actually wanted to fly too, but their daughter’s well-being came first.

Seeing how eager all three of them were, Tang Ximo naturally didn’t refuse. She immediately led them outside.

Standing at the doorway, they watched in amazement as their daughter/sister summoned a long sword out of thin air.

Both sides of the blade were engraved with the sun, moon, stars, mountains, rivers, and vegetation, the entire sword emitting a cool, clear glow. The hilt was carved with exquisite dragon patterns.

All three stared intently, their eyes filled with awe. Tang Ximo flashed a smug, proud grin.

“This is my life-bound Xuanyuan Sword. It just shares the same name—it’s not the legendary one. I call it Wangcai.”

The three of them wore expressions of utter confusion: such a dazzlingly cool and handsome sword, and you named it Wangcai?

They didn’t understand but respected their daughter/older sister {confused.JPG}

Turning back to Tang Ximo, after speaking, she channeled her spiritual power, expanding the sword’s size to comfortably accommodate four people.

She reached out, pulling the nervous trio onto the hovering Xuanyuan Sword, and smugly reminded them, “Stand steady… here we go!”

The next moment, the Xuanyuan Sword shot into the starry night sky like a meteor. Standing on the sword, they nervously peered down, taking in the entire city’s nightscape.

Tangxi Hua and Xu Wanqing were initially terrified and tense, but seeing their daughter’s calm demeanor, their stiff bodies gradually relaxed, allowing them to gather the courage to look down at the city’s vibrant, colorful lights.

Tangxi Xuan, clinging closely to her sister, instinctively gripped the hem of her sister’s clothes, just like when she used to follow her around as a child.

At first, Tangxi Xuan didn’t dare open her eyes, her heart pounding wildly. Only after the flight stabilized did she dare to look.

However, the three of them now looked like they were about to be blown into classic “shamate” hairstyles by the cold night wind.

In contrast, Tang Ximo stood straight-backed ahead, her hair only gently swaying in the breeze.

Though her modern clothing somewhat diminished the effect, her posture remained as upright as an immortal’s—the contrast was simply too stark.

Seeing this, the eyes of all three sparkled with immense anticipation.

In their minds, they couldn’t help but imagine a future where they, too, could soar through the skies on a sword like their daughter/sister.

How incredibly cool and impressive that would be!

Ahead, Tang Ximo sensed her family’s excitement and, amused yet proud, tossed her head and lifted her chin.

With a light flick of her fingers, she enveloped them in a layer of spiritual power to prevent them from being completely blown into “shamate” style by the cold night wind.

Though by now, they already bore some resemblance to it.

After a while, Tangxi Xuan, lost in her daydreams of looking cool, suddenly snapped back to reality, her gaze fixed on the northeast direction.

She then pointed at the increasingly clear object and leaned closer to her sister, exclaiming in shock, “Sis, look over there—is that a fighter jet?!”

Tang Ximo, who had been maintaining an air of transcendent detachment, followed her brother’s pointing finger. Her calm expression cracked with surprise.

She did plan to recruit students nationwide, but not now, when she was completely unprepared.

Moreover, as the first Cultivation Academy on Earth, its debut had to be grandly impressive—otherwise, how could she attract a large number of new disciples?

Casually casting an invisibility spell and fearing they might encounter other passenger planes or fighter jets, she whooshed back home with everyone, landing in their courtyard. The brief Sword Flight experience card had thus expired.

The pilot on the night sky test mission blinked, thinking to himself: Was I just seeing things?!?

Once the family was gathered again in the living room, Father Tang, Mother Xu, and Tangxi Xuan were no longer as excited and thrilled as before.

All three turned their gazes to Tang Ximo, who looked completely unfazed, their eyes deeply revealing their concern for their daughter/sister.

Cultivation was no easy path. Their daughter/sister had spent a millennium over there—the hardships she endured surely couldn’t have been as smooth and effortless as she made them sound.

Faced with such obvious affection and worry from her family, Tang Ximo hurriedly retrieved three Marrow Cleansing Pills emitting a medicinal fragrance from her Spiritual Abode.

Waving the pill in front of the few people, Tang Ximo said in a tempting tone, “This is a Marrow Cleansing Pill. Want to give it a try?”

In the next second, the three were drawn to the legendary Marrow Cleansing Pill, and only then did she breathe a slight sigh of relief—the triple concern was truly a bit overwhelming.
