“Even though it’s a bit of a mess, at least he managed to lure all the guards away from this house.” “Well, that really is Natsu’s signature style!” With no guards around to notice, Lucy quickly sneaked in and found the mansion’s library.

However, seeing just how massive the library was, Lucy was instantly dumbfounded.

Looking for one specific book among tens of thousands was like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Way too difficult!

“Sigh!

Whatever!

At least the enemy’s entire attention is focused on Natsu.

I have enough time to find that book.” “By the way, where did that damn flying cat go?” “If I have to search for the book all by myself, when will I ever finish?” “Lucy!

Talking bad about people behind their backs isn’t a good habit, you know!” A gloomy voice suddenly whispered right into Lucy’s ear.

The sudden appearance of the voice in the dead-silent library successfully made Lucy jump in shock.

Reflexively, her hand reached for the Celestial Spirit Gate Keys at her waist.

However, when she turned her head and realized that the owner of the voice was the blue cat hovering in the air, Lucy’s facial expression did a complete one-eighty.

Instantly, she put on her sweetest, friendliest face.

“My, my!

I wasn’t talking about you at all!

Our Happy is such a cute and adorable cat, how could I possibly call him a damn cat!” Internally, however!

“Damn flying cat!

If you help me find this book, I’ll forgive you just this once!” “Later, when I officially become your lady, I’ll reduce your torture quota!” “Yeah, reduced by exactly one time!” Praised to the heavens by Lucy, Happy was naturally overjoyed right away.

“I’m fired up!!” With a flap of his wings, he immediately darted off, flying along the library shelves.

Lucy couldn’t help but comment exhaustedly, “Why do you have to use Natsu’s catchphrase too?” “But whatever!

Turns out he really is just a naive flying cat who’s easy to use.” “Teeheehee!” “I’ve just figured out the perfect way to torture you later, you damn flying cat.” While the two of them were busily and tensely searching for their mission target…

On the other side…

Natsu, who had successfully barged into the mansion’s food storage, instantly went wild seeing the abundant piles of ingredients filling the entire room.

He took a deep breath, puffing his cheeks out to their maximum.

“Fire Dragon’s Roar!” A blast of fire swept through the entire storage in an instant, roasting all the food inside.

The mouthwatering aroma of roasted meat immediately wafted, filling the room.

Right at that moment, an unfortunate Duke had just popped his head out of the ground using his diving magic.

However, what greeted him was a sea of crimson flames burning the world around him.

“Aaaaargh!!” There was no suspense whatsoever.

The unlucky Duke was immediately struck by Natsu’s flames.

Fortunately, because the majority of his body was still underground, he wasn’t severely injured.

Even so, his head was spinning, and he was nearly knocked unconscious.

Natsu was completely oblivious to the presence of the sudden ‘mole’.

He jumped for joy and dove straight into the perfectly cooked pile of food, swallowing half a roast beef in just one giant bite.

The food entered his stomach and was quickly digested, turning into pure energy to strengthen Natsu’s physique.

Slowly, reddish dragon scales reappeared on his skin.

Feeling his magic power gradually stabilizing and his body becoming more energized, Natsu’s eating speed went even crazier.

It only took him a short while to completely sweep clean the contents of the giant food storage, leaving behind only the Duke, whose head was still popping out pale from the floor.

“Bwaaah!!” Sprawled on the floor while rubbing his satisfyingly bulging belly, Natsu murmured comfortably, “Thanks for the meal!” Duke Everlue, who had finally managed to gather his consciousness, jumped out of the ground full of rage.

“Who said anything about treating you to a meal?!” “Who are you?!” “Why are you breaking into my house?!” Natsu turned his head and answered in an overly casual tone, “I was hungry!

So I dropped by your house to find some food.

Is there a problem?” The unfortunate Duke’s gaze then fell upon the guild mark stamped on Natsu’s right shoulder.

“Wizard Guild…

Fairy Tail!” “Could it be, someone found out about my dark deeds and issued a mission to Fairy Tail to take me out?!” “I have to find out which bastard hired them, and I absolutely cannot let this brat out of here alive!” With one powerful leap, the Duke dove back into the ground, intending to launch a lethal attack from right under Natsu’s feet.

Sensing the vibrations beneath him, the fully-stuffed Natsu merely raised one hand lazily.

“So noisy.

Keep it down a bit!” His flame-wrapped fist slammed hard into the floor.

The explosion of fire landed a direct hit on the unfortunate Duke who had just popped out of the ground, simultaneously roasting him half-done.

Natsu didn’t care in the slightest whether the man was still alive or dead.

To him, that guy was just an extra passing by.

With a full stomach, it was time to sleep comfortably.

As for the details and goal of this mission…

they had all completely evaporated from Natsu’s memory.

Back in the library.

Happy was already lying limply on the floor, reluctant to move a single muscle.

He grumbled softly, “Lucy is so mean.

Making me work this hard for so long, but not giving me any fish at all!” Lucy glanced at him.

Happy’s pitiful expression had apparently managed to touch her conscience.

She gave up on searching for the book and scooped Happy off the floor.

“I’m sorry, Happy.

Come on, let me take you to find some food.” They had been in the mansion for quite a while, yet oddly there were no signs of further commotion or guard movements.

It seemed everyone had already been taken care by Natsu.

“By the way, where did Natsu go?

I haven’t seen hide nor hair of him in a while.” “He must be hiding somewhere to take a relaxing nap!” Lucy guessed.

“Lucy!

Talking bad about people behind their backs isn’t a good habit, you know!” A gloomy-toned voice suddenly sounded in her ear.

Lucy instantly froze.

“Why is your timing always so perfect?!” “Besides!

Why does your tone of voice sound exactly like Happy’s?!” Happy and Natsu looked at each other, then opened their mouths simultaneously.

However, before those two sacred words could slip freely, Lucy had already clamped her hands tightly over both of their mouths.

She glared daggers at the young man and the cat with an incredibly dark aura.

“If you two dare to say that phrase again, I will…”
