Day Four of the Wasteland Survival Game.
As soon as dawn broke, Shen Qingyao got up.
She first went behind the house to check on things.
Wolves were truly vicious. They had actually eaten their own companion!
They hadn’t even left a scrap of meat for her!
The wolf carcass left behind on the first day had probably only been spared because they were too flustered at the time—or perhaps they simply weren’t hungry.
Shen Qingyao didn’t pay much attention to it. After repairing the damaged traps, she went to the fence in the front yard.
There was a large hole in it, which she also repaired.
Several tomato plants had been completely destroyed by the wolf pack. Even the lettuce field had been devastated.
Seeing her vegetable garden in such a mess, Shen Qingyao, despite being mentally prepared for it, was still so furious that she cursed out loud:
“Damn wolves! Just you wait!”
Heartbroken, she hoed away all the ruined lettuce and replanted the entire plot.
She also replanted the corn and tomatoes.
Today, she could finally extend the fence far enough to enclose the entire path leading to the river!
From now on, even if she went outside at night, she wouldn’t have to worry about being suddenly attacked by wild beasts!
With the fence there, it could at least hold them back for a while, giving her enough time to escape.
She no longer needed to go to the river to fetch water, but she still picked up some river snails to take home for an extra dish.
That morning, she angrily ate a large chunk of green wolf meat!
“Ding! It has been detected that the host has consumed Mortal-Tier Grade 6 Green Wolf Meat. Physical attributes have increased slightly! Please keep up the good work!”
Shen Qingyao ignored the system. Instead, she put the river snails into a container to purge the sand, then stewed another pot of venison.
After making the Basic Nutrient Solution, she traded it to Wang Guodong.
Then she opened yesterday’s Golden Treasure Chest:
【Shelter Heart ×1, Random Seed Bag ×1, Fertilizer ×11, Basic Healing Potion ×4, Wood ×130, Stone ×110, Glass ×22, Iron ×16, Copper ×22, Cotton Cloth ×5, Power Card ×1, Blueprint ×1, Spirit-Tier Bow and Arrows ×1】
She barely paid attention to the other items.
Her eyes were fixed on the Spirit-Tier Bow and Arrows!
A ranged weapon!
Exactly what she desperately needed right now!
She knew her combat ability was terrible, but hiding and taking hits wasn’t her style!
No matter what, she had to fight back!
With this Spirit-Tier Bow and Arrows, dealing with the wolf pack would be much more manageable!
Coincidentally, although she didn’t have much combat ability, she had actually learned archery before!
Her ex-boyfriend, the rich second-generation heir, had learned archery for social purposes. Back when their relationship had still been relatively harmonious, he had personally taught her as well.
So she only needed to familiarize herself with this bow!
As for the arrows, she searched the market and actually found a blueprint for making feather arrows!
The seller’s asking price was practically extortion.
They actually wanted a Spirit-Tier weapon!
“Hello, can I trade something else for your feather arrow blueprint?”
“Huh? Boss, you can’t even produce a Spirit-Tier weapon?”
Shen Qingyao certainly had one.
But the price of this trade was completely unreasonable. She wasn’t some fool who would overpay!
“How about this? Would you accept a [Basic Trap] in exchange?”
The other party hesitated before saying:
“Twenty! Then I’ll agree to the trade!”
“I only have five. If you agree, we’ll trade. If not, forget it.”
Shen Qingyao wasn’t stupid!
Sure enough, the other party had simply been making an outrageous demand!
Hearing Shen Qingyao say that, they agreed.
“Deal!”
Making feather arrows required feathers, which she naturally didn’t have.
However, Wang Guodong should have some, considering that most of his prey were animals with feathers.
She contacted him, but received no response.
So she went to Li Hanyue instead and obtained a large basket of feathers from her.
She promptly made a batch of ordinary feather arrows.
When she had completely exhausted her stamina, she picked up a bottle of Basic Nutrient Solution and gulped it down.
She discovered that although it didn’t taste very good, it could slowly restore her stamina.
She never seemed to have enough stamina each day. With the Basic Nutrient Solution, she finally had a way to replenish it!
It was time for the sunlight to roast the earth again.
Although she didn’t find the heat unbearable, she had no desire to go outside and make herself suffer at a time like this.
The house was hot, but she had her combat uniform. Moreover, after her physical attributes had improved, her heat tolerance had also increased, so she wasn’t suffering too badly.
She opened the system and only then noticed that the number in the upper-right corner had decreased again!
After one night, there were only 1,197 survivors left!
More than five hundred people had died overnight!
No wonder the public channel had been buzzing all morning!
She had been busy the entire time and hadn’t opened it to take a look.
Therefore, she had no idea that on Blue Star, almost half of the planet was currently suffering devastating natural disasters!
The number of countries that had been destroyed had surged into the dozens!
And the atmosphere in Zhonghua was also extremely gloomy today.
Even though the authorities had organized evacuations in time, they had still suffered considerable casualties.
Everyone was anxiously watching the livestreams, treating these top survivors as their saviors.
Meanwhile, those who were somewhat mediocre—or even lacking in ability—were being cursed at and called worthless trash!
Shen Qingyao didn’t livestream, so nobody knew how she was performing.
Apart from the daily points leaderboard, which showed that she was still alive.
At that very moment, everyone in Zhonghua was anxiously watching Wang Guodong’s livestream:
“What do we do? Brother Dong is surrounded! There are so many wild beasts! And he’s injured!”
“Damn monkeys!”
“The person we should be cursing is the scumbag who lured the monkeys over!”
“Exactly! That bastard deserved to die!”
“But even though he’s dead, Brother Dong is still in danger!”
“What do we do? Can anyone contact another big shot and get them to go save him?”
“As far as I know, people who livestream can see the bullet comments, but many of the big shots aren’t livestreaming! For example, 666 Boss!”
“Pfft! What 666 Boss? She’s just a farmer who knows how to grow crops!”
“Person above, shut up! 666 Boss isn’t someone you can slander!”
“You guys keep sucking up to her, but I haven’t seen her do anything impressive. She hasn’t even submitted a decent-sized piece of prey. All she has are vegetables! Besides, she hasn’t submitted any supplies today. Maybe she’s already dead!”
“@Officer Uncle, I suggest investigating the person above. I suspect he’s a spy!”
“Spy +1!”
“Spy +2!”
“…”
“What nonsense are you people talking about? I’m just stating the facts! 666 hides like a coward and refuses to show her face, and now people aren’t even allowed to talk about her?”
“Exactly! Our hero is someone you’re not allowed to badmouth!”
“Spy, get lost!”
“Get lost!”
Shen Qingyao had no idea about the argument taking place in Wang Guodong’s livestream.
That afternoon, she reclaimed another plot of land.
Calculating roughly, her farmland was now about five mu in size.
This plot didn’t have the protection of a fence yet, so Shen Qingyao planted some lettuce first and scattered fertilizer over it.
Before nightfall, she managed to harvest two batches.
“Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have obtained Mortal-Tier Grade 2 Lettuce ×3,312!”
“Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have obtained Mortal-Tier Grade 3 Lettuce ×1,534!”
“Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have obtained Mortal-Tier Grade 4 Lettuce ×145!”
“Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have obtained Mortal-Tier Grade 2 Lettuce Seeds ×3,123!”
“Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have obtained Mortal-Tier Grade 3 Lettuce Seeds ×546!”
“Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have obtained Mortal-Tier Grade 4 Lettuce Seeds ×89!”
“Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have obtained Mortal-Tier Grade 5 Lettuce Seeds ×6!”
Another huge harvest!
Not only had she harvested a massive amount of lettuce, but the land had been fertilized as well!
Looking at the rich, dark soil, she scattered some Mortal-Tier Grade 2 gray-green wild vegetable seeds.
Even if the wolf pack destroyed them tonight, the losses wouldn’t be too severe!
She still needed to hurry up and make more fencing.
It was already getting dark.
She needed to get ready to entertain her guests—the wolf pack!
