Mathew continues to cut down the pipes hanging on the villagers bodies with the black blade while simultaneously shifting space to bring the freed people to a safe distance.
He keeps cutting the pipes and then hears a huge crashing noise.
Mathew looks to the location of the noise and sees a bloodied Altier crashing to the ground, he then makes a clone to keep cutting down the pipes and moves to assist Altier, but the people of the village keeps blocking his path.
Mathew then decides to shift the space to get him to Altier quickly even though it might put him in a state of backlash.
He instantly shifts the space around him and moves towards Altier but he was already too late because by then one of the pipes had already pierced through Altier’s heart.
Seeing that Mathew instantly runs forward towards Altier, he picks one of Altier’s twin swords and immediately cuts down the pipe piercing her heart.
Mathew then carries her to a safe distance which was one of the creature’s blind spot.
At that moment Mathew stared at the bloodied and beaten Altier and thought to himself “how are my going to save her.
I don’t even have a medical kit here and my clone won’t hold out for much longer”.
Mathew ran his brain ragged thinking of a way to save Altier and get out of that cave.
It was at that moment that he had a thought “what if I learn her ability by absorbing her soul essence, with that I’ll be able to heal her even if it’s a little since I don’t have much light essence right now”.
He pauses for a minute and thinks “but if I do that she’ll get more suspicious of me and may even figure out who I truly am”.
Mathew takes in a deep breath and looks back at the mangled Altier “I’ll save her, if she does figure out who I am I’ll just run for it I guess”.
With that Mathew holds up Altier in his arms “listen to me Altier, I can save you but I’ll need you to trust me in order to do that”.
Altier stares at him with a pained expression and barely nods giving him a positive answer.
Mathew sighs and continues “alright then I’ll need you to release some soul essence from your core even if it’s just a little”.
Altier hears him and begins releasing the little amount of soul essence she had in her core.
Mathew activates Frank’s ability and begins to see Altier’s essence being released.
He then starts to absorb it into his light core which took a little amount of time.
While Mathew was absorbing her soul essence and learning the way her ability works, Altier who was on the verge of death thinks to herself “what is he up to?
How can releasing essence from my core help me?.
But for some reason I’m just compelled to trust him so I’ll put my faith in him for now”.
With that Altier rests her body and waits for Mathew to get done quickly.
Mathew on the other hand experiences a little difficulty while trying to learn Altier’s ability.
At first he thought it would be easy to learn since he easily learned both Arwen’s and Frank’s ability, but that was not the case at all.
The answer was simple, the reason why he could easily learn and understand Frank’s and Arwen’s abilities was because they weren’t too complex.
Frank’s ability had to do with seeing the flow of soul essence which wasn’t much different from sensing the amount of soul essence a person has while Arwen’s ability had to deal with multiplying one’s self which was also not different from multi tasking with one’s body and mind.
But Altier’s ability was a totally different case because it had to deal with one of the laws the Supreme and Dream god made to govern the universe they created.
“Time”.
Altier’s ability had to deal with time which was a vast and foundational aspect of reality, spanning physical, philosophical, and subjective dimensions which Mathew didn’t quite understand.
He had to overcome time in order to learn Altier’s ability and save her.
“Damnit this is much harder than I thought, I just need to overcome time and understand its basics that’s all.
Time has to deal with most things of the universe, a vast entity that has never been fully understood.
Seconds, Minutes, Hours, Days all set by two beings to flow endlessly.
I think I understand it now .
At that moment the Altier’s soul essence was fully absorbed into his light core.
Mathew immediately activates Altier’s ability and reverses the flow of time on her body thereby removing some of her serious injuries.
Altier opens her eyes and sees Mathew using her ability “what?
How can you do that?” But instead of answering Mathew continues reversing time on her body.
After a while Mathew releases the ability and raises Altier up.
Although she wasn’t totally healed, she was at least out of the death zone.
Mathew stares at her and asks “are you okay enough to move?” Altier checks herself “yes I am, thanks by the way”.
Mathew then proceeds to get her back to her feet, ” alright my clone is still cutting the pipes so you and I have to finish that creature off once and for all”.
Altier listens to him and says “that’s sounds good but how exactly are we going to do that?”.
Mathew looks around the cave and his eyes eventually lands on the ground.
Slowly forming an idea Mathew smiles “I think I might have a plan for us to use and get rid of that thing”.
Altier with a slight smile asks “and what exactly is your plan”.
Mathew turns to her and explains “first I’ll need you to distract that thing for five minutes minimum while it’s distracted I’ll destroy its foothold and bring it down, as it’s falling we’ll deliver the final blow to its core and kill it”.
He then turns and looks at the creature “so are you in?”.
Altier looks at him and smiles while holding his shoulder “yeah let’s take that thing down”.
