Mathew and Altier quickly set their plan into action.
Altier firsts rushes out of the blind spot and charges straight for the fallen creature with one of her twin swords meanwhile Mathew waits for a perfect opportunity to destroy its foothold.
The creature, seeing Altier coming straight for it sends its tail at her but Altier already expected that attack so with that she dodges most of the tails and grabs one to pull herself closer to the fallen creature.
She then releases the tail mid air as she was right on top of the creature.
The creature turns its head to look directly at her and prepares another attack of condensed soul essence.
Seeing its preparation Altier places her left foot on the side wall close to her and uses it to propel herself right in order to dodge the attack that was coming.
She then hangs on one of the open holes in the cave waiting for the creature’s attack to be released.
The creature finally releases the condensed soul essence on the entire cave creating a huge explosion within the cave but by then Mathew’s clone was already done cutting the pipe like tails on the people and taking them to a safe place.
The cave being half destroyed was about to fall apart completely and it was in that moment that Altier made her next move.
She released her hand from the tiny hole on the cave’s walls falling down she then steps on the wall once again and propels herself forward this time to the creature’s direction.
Altier then spins in a circle and slices one eye of the creature’s making it feel another round of intense pain.
While it was distracted Altier lands on the ground and uses all of her ascended strength to cut through the creatures leg making it feel even more pain.
In a great deal of pain the creature stomps on the ground heavily making tiny cracks on the ground where it stood.
Seeing that Mathew decides to finally act, he was looking for a way to destroy the creatures foothold but he didn’t expect the creature to do it by itself.
Silently thanking the creature Mathew runs out of the blind spot and towards the creature’s already cracked foothold.
Being of the Fallen rank the creature immediately sensed Mathew’s presence coming towards it because Night creatures were more sensitive to essence than humans were, that’s why no one so far was able to figure out that Mathew was Divine.
Sensing him the creature sends countless pipe like tails towards Mathew but instead of dodging Mathew simply shifted the space bringing him directly at the location he was aiming for.
Landing at the creatures foothold Mathew releases all the remaining light essence in his core and activates Altier’s ability and instead of reversing he speeds up time on the already cracked ground making it age and crumble under the creature’s weight.
Mathew was entering a state of backlash because of releasing all his essence.
The creature noticing his unique essence sends a tail to stab him and absorb his essence, but as the tail was just few meters away from reaching him, a woman with blue hair and green eyes descends and cuts the pipe like tail in half.
At that moment Mathew releases Altier’s ability and clenched his fist in order to release all of his incomplete Divine strength on the cracked ground making it crumble into pieces revealing a deep and dark under layer of the cave .
The creature instantly falls downward while Mathew takes the opportunity to get on the fallen creature’s body and locate its core.
Altier jumps down and holds onto a piece of the creature but was about to fall.
Seeing her Mathew instantly runs and catches her pulling her onto the fallen creature’s falling body.
“Thanks for that” Altier says with a relived face.
Mathew turns to her and says “you’re welcome”.
The two immediately get up and Altier eventually asks “so how are we going to find its core?”.
Hearing that Mathew, even though he already had one foot in the state of backlash activates Frank’s ability and sees the flow of essence in the creatures body ultimately locating the area where the largest amount is stored.
Mathew deactivates the ability “the core is at its head close to its brain, we just have to somehow get there and destroy the core before it’s eventually falls down”.
Altier looks towards the creatures head”is that all?” She asks.
Mathew just gives a positive nod.
The two then stares at each other and immediately starts running towards the head.
Even though the creature didn’t have its balance it was still able to move its tails and with that it sends them after Mathew and Altier making the possibility of reaching their goal even harder.
Altier begins to move her body instinctively in order to cut down the pipe like tails while moving while Mathew heads straight and cuts down the once that came close to him.
No matter how much of those tails they cut down there were just too many for only the both of them to handle and eventually they began to get overwhelmed by the shear number of the tails.
Altier cuts down a tail and another one wraps around her leg, seeing that she attempts to slash it but before she could another one wraps itself around her hand, all of a sudden a deep dark shadow covered her, she looks forward to see who or what cast the shadow only to see countless tails moving towards her.
Seeing that Altier grits her teeth and uses all of her strength to try and rip off the tails holding her down with shear force.
But her strength was not enough and before she knew it the tails were already upon her ready to stab her to death.
Altier moved her eyes looking for something or anything to use and free herself but instead she suddenly saw a young boy with blonde hair right in front of her with one of her swords.
Mathew sees the countless tails and strengthens his feet on the ground or rather the fallen creature’s body, he then moves with enough speed and precision cutting and slicing every single tail heading towards Altier with great speed until they were all gone.
He then proceeds to free Altier from the tails that held her captive, “are you okay Altier?”.
Altier looks at Mathew’s mangled body with Injuries all over, eventually she says “I’m okay”.
Hearing that Mathew turns and keeps heading towards the creatures head to deliver the final blow to it but Altier couldn’t help but stare at Mathew’s back and thinks to herself “who is he?
And why do I feel such warmth when I’m with him?”.
She shakes her head and thinks “now’s not the time to think about that”.
Altier then grabs her sword and heads straight for the creatures head.
