Emily looked at her deep golden eyes in confusion.
” Why is it deeper and weird?” she murmured.
But anyway.
“Congratulations, you finally reached stage one to wake your weak wolf. Try better next time.”
Akeelah and Janet quickly held back their laughs and looked away.
Emily turned around.
“We need to talk.”
They walked to the library in silence.
Once inside, Akeelah and Janet locked the door at once.
Emily faced Hazel and opened her mouth to speak, but Hazel spoke first.
“I’ve never seen a big and beautiful wolf like that,” she said, still looking confused.
Emily frowned.
“What wolf?”
Hazel sighed.
“I saw a white wolf last night… outside the kitchen window.”
“A white wolf?” Emily, Akeelah, and Janet all said the words at the same time.
Their eyes were wide with surprise.
Hazel blinked.
“I know you won’t believe me. I’m not even sure what I saw. It didn’t look real. It was transparent… like a ghost. It must be some witch stuff…”
Akeelah glanced at Janet and shook her head.
“No. That is not witch stuff.”
Emily’s frown grew deeper.
“What connection do you have with a royal wolf?” She looked at the two maids.
“Is there something you two are hiding from me?”
Janet, who had been forcing a polite smile, suddenly scoffed.
“Why would you know?” she asked.
“You don’t even like her.”
Akeelah already had a small smirk on her lips.
“You better go and deal with your bitch sister,” she sighed.
” I’m sick of these games”, she murmured.
Hazel stared at them in shock.
She had never seen Akeelah or Janet act like this before.
Something felt very different about them now.
Emily’s hand moved fast.
She pulled the sword from behind her back and pointed it straight at the two girls.
“My instinct is always right,” she said in a hard voice.
“I knew you two were up to something. Who are you?” She looked at Hazel.
“Hazel, come behind me. You can’t trust them.”
Janet placed a hand on her chest and looked at Akeelah. This chapter was copied from novelping.com without permission.
“Oh, look… she’s loyal to our Lady Hazel.”
Akeelah’s smile deepened.
She walked closer to Emily and calmly pushed the sword aside with one finger.
“We don’t have time for this,” she said.
“But we are here to help Lady Hazel.”
Emily slowly lowered her sword.
She looked at Hazel for a long moment.
“Fine,” she said at last.
“Since you trust them, I will stay out of it for now. But…” Her voice turned serious again.
“What did you see when you touched Mother’s stomach?”
Hazel frowned.
“Why are you so desperate? I already told you—”
“You didn’t say everything, Hazel.”
Hazel froze.
“How can you be so sure?”
“You knew I was standing there,” Emily answered.
“You looked at me right after you removed your hand. I could tell from your face that something was wrong.”
Janet’s eyes narrowed.
“The vision…”
Hazel stayed quiet for a few seconds.
Emily swallowed and spoke again.
“I know you were curious because I don’t like weak people. But he’s a male. He will be stronger than me. I will never fight him for the Alpha title, and we will never try to kill each other…”
Hazel shook her head slowly.
“That’s not what I saw, Emily.”
Emily blinked.
“What did you see?”
Hazel looked at the others, then let out a long breath.
“You marry him.”
Silence filled the library.
Janet’s mouth fell open.
“Huh?!”
Akeelah stared at Emily with pure confusion.
Emily could not even find words at first.
“Must you annoy me like this…”
“I’m very certain.”
“Or maybe you misunderstood the situation you saw,” Janet said carefully.
Hazel shook her head again.
“I understood it clearly. They were kissing. They are fated mates. He will mark her.”
“That’s impossible, Hazel!” Emily’s voice rose.
“Why would my younger brother mark and mate with me?!”
Hazel rolled her eyes.
“Yes, it sounds impossible. But that is what I saw. He’s so obsessed with you, Emily… from the moment he starts knowing the difference between left and right. He will always take your relationships with other men personally. He won’t even hide his feelings before he turns eighteen.”
Tears filled Emily’s eyes.
“What?”
“That’s forbidden,” Janet whispered.
She stared at Emily in shock.
Everyone knew Emily looked a lot like both of her parents.
The resemblance was strong.
So how could this be possible?
Unless something is definitely wrong.
Emily quickly grabbed Hazel’s hands.
“Please… is there a way we can change that? I’ve been wondering why I haven’t found my mate yet. That can’t be the reason, right?”
Hazel’s face softened with pity.
“I can’t change the future, Emily. I don’t know everything, but I think his name will be Sam. That’s what I heard when he pointed a sword at Mother… at Luna Charlotte.”
“What?!” Janet and Akeelah gasped at the same time.
Emily stepped back in fear.
Hazel ran a hand through her hair.
“I shouldn’t be telling you this. But what I know is… don’t ever try to kill the baby. He will always come back. You will be exposed. The Moon Goddess is doing something we don’t understand yet.”
She placed a gentle hand on Emily’s stunned shoulder.
“We have to trust the Moon Goddess. There must be something she wants us to learn.”
Emily nodded and wiped her tears.
Her eyes moved to the heavy iron collar around Hazel’s neck.
“I will come back with the key,” she said quietly.
She checked her wristwatch.
“Ryan should have gotten the key from that girl by now. Why is the key even with her…?”
Hazel frowned ” Ryan?”
She looked at Hazel again.
“Be prepared. You will leave this place soon… to do what you are supposed to do.”
Hazel frowned.
“Do what?”
Emily stopped at the door and sighed.
“It seems they haven’t told you everything yet. What you saw was a white wolf ghost. That means you are fated to a royal wolf. And the last royal wolf… is King Caius.”
