At that moment, Shen Danyue, who had just finished washing the dishes and chopsticks, walked in on tiptoe and asked softly, “Big Sister, what’s wrong with Little Brother?”

“He’s fine. I just finished treating his wounds,” Shen Danyun said, keeping her voice low to avoid waking Shen Wentao. “Come over and lie down. Big Sister will treat your wounds too.”

Hearing this, Shen Danyue obediently lay face down on the bed, allowing her sister to disinfect and apply medicine to her injuries. She didn’t utter a single cry of pain, but her tiny fists were tightly clenched, and her body trembled slightly.Full novel: Favored by the Cold Prince: The Fierce Eldest Daughter of a Farm Family — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Looking at her younger sister’s fair, tender back—which had been beaten so badly that not a single patch of healthy skin remained—Shen Danyun’s burning rage became completely uncontrollable. It seemed that if she didn’t add a little extra “spice” to the Liu family’s life tonight, she wouldn’t be able to let this go.

Later that night, a dark shadow slipped directly into the Liu family compound.

Old Man Liu and his family had returned home in a wretched state of utter disgrace. No longer in the mood to celebrate his birthday, they simply whipped up a quick meal to fill their bellies before retreating to their respective rooms to sleep.

“Old Man, I really can’t swallow this grievance, being driven back like this by that little wretch,” Mrs. Liu-Chen said venomously.

Seeing that Old Man Liu remained silent, she pressed on, “If I had known, we should have sold her off along with that other bitch. Then we wouldn’t be dealing with this mess now. It’s going to be hard to move back into that house after this.”

“What’s the rush? Just wait. Once the heat blows over, we’ll take our time dealing with them,” Old Man Liu said with sinister malice.

“I knew you’d have a plan, Old Man! We must absolutely give them hell, especially that little brat,” Mrs. Liu-Chen said excitedly, as if she could already see the tragic fate awaiting the three children.

“Alright, go to sleep. You talk too much,” Old Man Liu turned away, ignoring her as he gradually drifted off to sleep.

Meanwhile, Shen Danyun’s figure darted through every room of the Liu household like a phantom. After confirming she hadn’t skipped a single person, she finally slipped away and left the compound.

Upon returning home, she saw that the two little ones were fast asleep. She tucked them in safely and immediately vanished into her magical space.

Everything inside the space remained unchanged. Shen Danyun first went to check on the medicinal fields. Seeing that the herbs were growing robustly, she watered them all with the spiritual spring water.

This medicinal plot had been planted by the previous owner of the space. The herbs inside were incredibly precious and rare, with some varieties being virtually non-existent in the mortal world.

The original owner of the space was undoubtedly an unparalleled divine physician—one who had mastered both the arts of supreme healing and deadly poisons.

After acquiring the space, Shen Danyun had unhesitatingly performed the formal disciple kowtow before the original owner’s portrait. Her medical skills were already extraordinary, but this acquisition was like giving wings to a tiger. As long as a person still had a single breath left in them, there was no one she couldn’t save.

Of course, her talent for poisoning people to death was in no way inferior to her ability to save lives.

Leaving the medicinal field, she walked over to the paddy fields. These three acres of rice paddies could never be fully harvested. By the time she finished reaping the last acre, new sprouts would already be shooting up from the areas she had harvested first. Rice would grow back in just three days, and within seven days, it would be ready for harvest all over again.

The orchards here operated the same way, always bearing an endless supply of fruit. Even the fish and shrimp in the lake multiplied indefinitely. Consequently, she concluded that this was a self-regenerating space with an inexhaustible supply of resources.

Entering the wooden cabin, Shen Danyun opened the wardrobe and retrieved a set of pajamas. She desperately needed a proper wash. Just thinking about how filthy she had been—matching the state of her younger siblings earlier—made her skin crawl. She couldn’t wait to scrub off a whole layer of skin.

She soaked in the spiritual spring water for a full two hours, and only after ensuring she was thoroughly clean from head to toe did she put on her pajamas and exit the space.

Gazing at the two little ones sleeping soundly on the bed, Shen Danyun’s heart melted with tenderness. She tucked the blankets securely around them, lay down on the outer edge of the bed, pulled up the covers, and drifted off to sleep.

Early the next morning, well before dawn, Shen Danyun had already ventured into the deep mountains. She needed to hunt some wild game today to exchange for silver in town; otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to explain where their food was coming from, and she had no desire to be labeled a demon and burned at the stake.

As Shen Danyun was pondering what would be best to hunt, she noticed the grass a short distance away rustling continuously. Stepping closer to investigate, she discovered two wild pheasants engaged in an act best left undescribed. Shen Danyun didn’t stand on ceremony; with a wave of her small hand, she swept both the pheasants and their nest straight into her space.

The two wild pheasants were utterly bewildered. How had they suddenly teleported while doing their business? And why were there so many other chickens here? The two birds looked around their new surroundings in curiosity, while the resident chickens stared back just as inquisitively, clucking away in their own bird language.

Inside the spatial farm, various types of poultry were kept in enclosed areas. Each creature was plump, healthy, and sleek-feathered, contentedly roaming around its designated zone.

At that moment, Shen Danyun herself was stunned by the abundance of game in the deep mountains. In less than two hours, she had successfully hunted five wild pheasants, six wild rabbits, three wild boars, and a nest containing thirty wild eggs.

With so much game available in these mountains, why didn’t the people of Dashan Village come up here to hunt? Instead, they chose to endure hunger and starvation every single day.

Shen Danyun glanced at the rising sun and suppressed her urge to continue hunting. Fearing that the two little ones would wake up, find her missing, and cry, she hurriedly made her way back down the mountain.

As she neared the foot of the mountain, she retrieved two pheasants and three wild rabbits from her space, placing them into the wicker basket on her back. Then, gripping one leg of a wild boar with a single hand, she began dragging it toward the village.

It wasn’t that she couldn’t lift it; with the original body’s innate, Herculean strength, lifting several thousand pounds was a walk in the park. However, due to her short stature, she could only drag it along the ground.

The people of Dashan Village woke up early that morning to a massive piece of gossip. For entirely unknown reasons, Old Man Liu’s entire family had broken out in an unbearable, full-body itch. They had scratched their skin raw, yet the itching wouldn’t stop. They had summoned Dr. Liu first thing in the morning, but even he was completely baffled by the nature of the illness.

“Do you think it’s because Old Man Liu and his lot abused those three children, so Shen Chengzhi came back to punish them? How else do you explain an entire family simultaneously breaking out in an incurable itch over the course of a single night?”

“I said it before—if Old Man Liu’s family couldn’t appease Shen Chengzhi’s wrath, this wouldn’t end well. After all, seeing one’s own children bullied to that extent, no living person could take it, let alone a ghost.”

While the villagers were huddled together whispering and gossiping, they noticed a cloud of dust billowing down from the foot of the mountain. Peering through the haze, everyone was instantly struck dumbfounded.

“Look, quick! Isn’t that Girl Yun dragging a wild boar down the mountain?”

“It sure looks like her.” Everyone’s eyes widened to the size of saucers.

“Girl Yun, how on earth did you catch such a massive wild boar?”

“Uncle Shitou, this wild boar was blind. It charged straight into a tree, knocked itself dead, so I just dragged it back.”

Shen Danyun wasn’t entirely lying. In truth, this wild boar had charged at her aggressively. Wanting to test her current physical skills, she had dodged to the side, deflected its momentum, and slammed her fist directly into its head. As a result, the boar’s head crashed violently into a massive tree, killing it on the spot.

“It was blind and knocked itself dead by hitting a tree? I’ve gone into these mountains at least eight hundred to a thousand times, so how come I’ve never run into such a stroke of good luck?” one man grumbled.

Another chimed in, “I’ve run into a wild boar before, alright. It chased me so hard I barely made it back alive, and I certainly didn’t see it knock itself dead!”

“Perhaps the wild boar you ran into wasn’t blind,” Shen Danyun replied earnestly.

“Fair enough, I guess I just don’t have that kind of luck,” the man conceded helplessly.

“It’s not just a matter of luck. This wild boar easily weighs three to four hundred pounds. Let’s see you try to drag it,” Uncle Shitou challenged.

The man actually stepped forward, grabbed one of the boar’s hind legs, and strained with all his might for a good while. The wild boar only budged a tiny fraction of an inch, prompting the onlookers to erupt into roaring laughter.

Flustered and irritated, the man dropped the boar leg and said, “Fine, I can’t pull it! If you’re so capable, why don’t you show me how it’s done?”

“I can’t pull it either. Girl Yun truly possesses divine strength.” Uncle Shitou smiled and gave Shen Danyun a big thumbs-up, before rallying the crowd to help carry the wild boar back to the Shen residence for her.

Sensing the genuine and straightforward nature of the villagers, Shen Danyun said generously, “Uncle Shitou, since I just picked up this wild boar for free anyway, I’ll keep a small portion to sell in town, and the rest can be distributed among everyone to enjoy a good meal!”

“How could we possibly do that? We haven’t done anything to help you three siblings, so how could we take your wild boar meat?

You should sell this entire boar and use the silver to buy grain so you kids won’t go hungry. Let’s go back; Uncle will slaughter and clean the pig for you, and then you can take it to sell.” Uncle Shitou lived closest to the Shen family and had frequently helped the three siblings in the past.

Shen Danyun was well aware that due to the recent prolonged drought, the crop yields from the fields were pitifully low. After paying the grain taxes, there was barely anything left.

The villagers ate at most two meals a day, relying heavily on digging up wild vegetables on the mountain just to stave off starvation. They could barely fill their stomachs with rice, let alone afford to eat meat.

Yet, despite staring at the wild boar and visibly swallowing their saliva, they resolutely refused to accept any meat. Everyone knew that this boar represented life-saving provisions for the three orphaned children.

At this moment, Shen Danyun was deeply moved. She silently vowed that she would definitely help this group of kind-hearted people. Even if she couldn’t guarantee them a life of luxury, she would at the very least ensure they always had enough food to eat, and never had to suffer from hunger or cold again.

Little did the people of Dashan Village know that because of their simple act of goodwill today, their lives would soon undergo a earth-shattering transformation for the better!
