Scarlett Glenn halted, then turned around with a charming smile: “I only make dates with men in bed.”
Fabian Utley…
With a bang, the laptop on the conference table crashed to the floor, splitting in two with the screen shattered, leaving wreckage behind.
Ethan Herd sat there as usual, neat and orderly, his expression was calm, handsome and elegant, cold and distant, completely disassociated from the crushed laptop.
Ethan Herd turned his gaze, and said, “Fabian Utley, come in.”
His voice was normal but John River shivered.
The calmness of Young Master Herd was too terrifying.
The more composed he was, the more terrifying he felt.
Scarlett Glenn had walked far away, Fabian Utley held onto the door handle, not wanting to enter, John River already noticed something was wrong, did he not know?
Ethan Herd looked at him and said, “Enter.”
John River knew this was his last shred of patience.
If he said it for a third time, even he would be doomed.
John hurriedly urged, “Manager Utley, come in.”
Fabian Utley was terrified: “Well…I…”
John River unkindly pushed the door open, shoved Fabian Utley from behind.
Fabian Utley, powered by inertia, rushed in.
Fabian Utley abruptly stopped, “Cousin…what can I do for you?”
He was a college classmate of Ethan Herd, and they were related through some convoluted family connections.
By relationships, he should call Ethan Herd cousin.
Between Ethan Herd’s index and middle fingers, was a coin spinning nimbly.
“Sit,” ordered Ethan Herd.
Fabian Utley, a tall man standing at 187 cm, was now covered in cold sweat.
Fabian Utley carefully sat down.
Unexpectedly, Ethan Herd just talked about the company’s matters including his annual suggestions for the company’s operation.
Everything was perfectly normal, no issues at all.
As Fabian Utley was talking, he gradually lowered his guard.
He thought, maybe Mr.
Herd didn’t take that rampant girl to heart.
After all, she’s just a woman.
Why would Ethan Herd bother thinking too much about her?
After discussing work-related issues, Fabian Utley became brave enough to ask, “Cousin, when did you hook up with such a fiery girl?
She’s really hot, both her temper and her figure, especially that front and rear view of hers.
Her chest must at least be a C cup…”
Ethan Herd lowered his gaze toward the lady’s windbreaker on the floor: “Anything else?”
Fabian Utley, with a gossip-filled expression: “Did you really sleep with her last night?
And she said you stole her mobile phone, did you actually take it, cousin?”
Suddenly, Ethan Herd’s finger stopped moving, catching the spinning coin.
He lifted his head and said, “Fabian Utley, I am very satisfied with your recent work attitude and performance.”
Fabian Utley, after a moment of stunned silence, “Why are we suddenly back to talking about work?”
However, he still hastily said, “Thank you, Mr.
Herd, I will continue to work hard.”
Ethan Herd continued, “Recently, the company has decided to donate and build 50 primary schools on the Plateau.
I think you would do well as the person in charge.”
Fabian Utley was dumbfounded.
“Cousin, no…
Mr.
Herd….”
“Any objections?” Ethan Herd glanced at him.
That cold look made Fabian Utley shiver, he hurriedly shook his head: “No…Not at all…Why would I have any objections?”
“You’ll set out with the team at 1 PM today.”
“What?
This afternoon?” Fabian Utley initially thought he would have a few days to work out a workaround, or try to reason with Ethan Herd when he cool down.
Turns out…he is not given that chance at all.
