As usual, after tidying up the kitchen, Fu Chengyan went back. The idea of a robot housekeeper was a good one—he would go back and implement it.

Before leaving, he leaned down slightly to bid Xu Zhizhi farewell. “See you tonight. Looking forward to Chef Xu’s dinner.”

Xu Zhizhi pursed her lips, giving herself a pep talk. “Okay.”Full novel: Flash Marriage: The Socially Anxious Little Wife Gets Tricked Home by the Big Shot — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She would do her best—she absolutely had to cook an especially, especially delicious bowl of instant noodles for him.

She’d add two eggs, two slices of bacon, and five fish balls for him.

Fu Chengyan knew nothing about this. He returned and spent most of the afternoon in meetings.

Assistant Lin was so busy he didn’t even have time to take a sip of water. Glancing up, he caught sight of Wen Li lounging on the sofa, playing games on his phone and cursing his teammates as idiots. Then he looked down at the chaotic pile of documents in his own hands and couldn’t help but frown. “Hey, could you go play in the boss’s office?”

Wen Li gave him a look that said, Are you stupid?

Go play games in the boss’s office? Did he have a death wish?

Assistant Lin: “Your breathing is distracting me.”

Wen Li sneered coldly. “Watch less TV.”

“…Keep it down, please.” Assistant Lin was helpless.

“Shouldn’t assistants like you be fully immersed in their work? Yet here you are, still able to listen to me playing games. What, want to join in?”

Assistant Lin couldn’t be bothered to engage with him, though a torrent of curses raced through his mind.

When it was finally time to clock out, Wen Li put away his phone early and wandered around the assistant’s office a few times, acting as if he had a screw loose.

“Why aren’t you leaving yet?” Assistant Lin found it odd, mainly because seeing this guy so leisurely was really grating on his nerves.

Wen Li explained casually, “Waiting to drive the boss.”

Assistant Lin was shocked. “Is the boss not planning to live anymore?”

Asking someone who drove boats and planes to drive his car—that was truly “madness.”

“Probably tired of riding in the little turtle’s car.”

Assistant Lin smiled. “Alright, I’ll contact Uncle Song right away.”

Uncle Song was the driver at Lushan Manor. Fu Chengyan only asked him to drive when going out for meals or drinks with friends. Usually, Uncle Song had a lot of free time.

Wen Li raised an eyebrow. “I meant you.”

Assistant Lin neatly organized his documents and walked past him without even a glance, knocking on the boss’s door. “President Fu, these are the documents for the new project in Puxin District.”

Fu Chengyan hummed in acknowledgment. “Just leave them on the desk.”

Assistant Lin placed them on top of the one or two files Fu Chengyan hadn’t yet processed. After careful consideration, he added, “President Wen said he wants to drive your new car—the black one that arrived three months ago.”

“He can take the Cayenne,” Fu Chengyan said without even looking up. “Why ask me about such a trivial matter? Since when has he been so proper?”

Assistant Lin shook his head. “It’s the black Shadow with the little golden emblem—the one that arrived three months ago and just finished modifications last month.”

Fu Chengyan finally looked up, a faint smile curling at the corner of his mouth. “Tell him to get lost.”

“Understood, boss. I’ll relay that word for word to President Wen.”

He left, closing the door behind him, then raised an eyebrow at Wen Li waiting outside, mimicking Fu Chengyan’s tone. “Get lost.”

Then he chuckled. “That’s what the boss said.”

Wen Li scoffed lightly. “Whatever. I won’t stoop to arguing with a little brat.”

Twenty-eight-year-old Assistant Lin: “…”

Damn it, who’s the little brat here? Watching Wen Li’s retreating figure, he muttered, “If I’m a little brat, you’re still in your mother’s womb.”

Fu Chengyan might have to work overtime for a while. Wen Li, true to the word “lost,” didn’t linger. After all, he’d already been scolded—might as well go enjoy himself.

Under the hesitant gaze of Steward Liu, Wen Li drove away Fu Chengyan’s new car.

Auntie Liu opened her mouth, “Uncle Liu, didn’t the master say no one was allowed to touch this car? Aren’t you going to stop him?”

Steward Liu rubbed his eyes, “Oh dear, Xiao Fen, why is my vision suddenly blurry? I need to go to the small villa in the Left Garden to see a doctor.”

Auntie Liu: “…”

Uncle Liu, is it really necessary? Even though Wen Li is skilled with a dagger, you could always play the age card.

He wouldn’t actually beat up an old man like you, would he?

Fu Chengyan went straight to the garage after work, watching helplessly as his beloved car performed a dangerous spin in the garage. “Wen Li, if you wanted to pilot a fighter jet, you should’ve said so earlier. I’ll contact the airline right now and have you shipped off overnight.”

Wen Li shrugged, “Boss, you know I only drive for you. I’m a very loyal man.”

Fu Chengyan nodded, “Tell that to your wife. She’d probably be moved to tears.”

Thinking of the little one at home, Wen Li’s heart softened uncontrollably, “My wife already knows.”

“If she believes your nonsense, her life is pretty much over,” Fu Chengyan remarked.

“Boss, are you just jealous that I have a wife?”

Fu Chengyan closed his eyes briefly, “Either drive or get lost.”

He’s hit the nail on the head, Wen Li thought.

Still, he couldn’t afford to offend the master. After all, whether his wife could buy the latest designer bag next month depended entirely on the boss’s word.

After dropping Fu Chengyan off at Jiaxing North Garden, Wen Li glanced at the residential complex. “I’d really love to buy a place here.”

When the master went to see the young lady, he could head back home to spend time with his wife.

Fu Chengyan shot him a look, “Why buy here? Don’t you already have a villa?”

“Boss, do you think everyone is as rich as you?”

“Oh, so you don’t have one?” Fu Chengyan recalled giving him a small villa as a wedding gift.

“My wife loves property deeds. What can I do?” Wen Li said. “It’s a newly cultivated hobby. I have to put in some effort.”

Fu Chengyan said flatly, “Robbery is easier.”

“Is there a more civilized way to put it?”

Fu Chengyan curled his lips slightly, “Borrow your money and repay you in the next life.”

“Learned something new, boss.”

Fu Chengyan hummed in acknowledgment, “Don’t call me ‘boss’ when we’re out.”

“Why?” Afraid people might think he’s involved in organized crime?

“Afraid I’ll see you on the legal news. Don’t want to become famous.”

Wen Li understood, “But boss, aren’t you already famous?”

“I’m not on the legal news. No need to dig through past records.”

Wen Li said, “Of course not the legal news, but on the financial channels, you’re the one who’s eternally seated in the main position, never toppled.”

Fu Chengyan frowned, “They never even captured me on camera. What main position?”

“Naturally, it’s because your reputation is far-reaching, boss.”

“Enough with the flattery.” He strode toward Xu Zhizhi’s building, and Wen Li wisely stopped in his tracks. The next moment, his phone rang. “Hey, Wen Yi, what’s up? A parent-teacher meeting? You’re about to take the college entrance exam—aren’t those only for kindergarten?”

Wen Yi showed no humility in asking for a favor; instead, he was arrogant and brash. “Coming or not? If not, I’m hanging up.”

“It’s just that my face doesn’t look old at all. If I go, your homeroom teacher will probably think we’re brothers.”

Wen Yi said disdainfully, “Stop flattering yourself. An old man trying to act young.”

Before Wen Li could finish his curse, the phone was abruptly hung up.

“Hey, that little brat. Who trained these soldiers anyway?”
