“Jiang Zhuangzhuang, clean that wall right now!”
Teacher Qin’s roar echoed across the entire playground.
Jiang Zhuangzhuang shrank his neck. “I can’t clean it.”
He had regretted it as soon as he finished writing. He wanted to wipe it off but couldn’t, so he had moved an abandoned desk to block it.
Originally, Jiang Zhuangzhuang had planned to clean the wall after figuring out a solution, thinking no one would ever know.
Unexpectedly, he forgot about it while playing, and then the typhoon came—exposing everything.
“Sister Fang, save me!” Jiang Zhuangzhuang directly hid behind Fang Muyu.
Lin Xiaoxiao looked at Jiang Zhuangzhuang as if he were an idiot.
This silly boy would help count the money even after being sold.
He must have been misled by Teacher Qin before, thinking this brat Jiang Zhuangzhuang was so hard to teach. Now it seemed easy to handle.
“Jiang Zhuangzhuang, come out!” Teacher Qin shouted angrily, hands on her hips.
“No.” Jiang Zhuangzhuang tightly hid behind Fang Muyu, only half his head peeking out. “Teacher Qin, you’re too scary right now.”
“Come out.” Teacher Qin directly reached out, trying to pull Jiang Zhuangzhuang out.
“I don’t want to.”
One pulling, one hiding—both circling around Fang Muyu.
Fang Muyu directly became an obstacle in the teacher-student chase.
“Stop, stop, stop. This isn’t a solution.” Lin Xiaoxiao hurriedly pulled Teacher Qin aside. “Fang Muyu, how do you think we should handle this?”
Everyone’s gaze focused on Fang Muyu, especially Jiang Zhuangzhuang, whose eyes sparkled with hope.
Fang Muyu smiled. “No need to handle it!”
Lin Xiaoxiao and Teacher Qin stood there dumbfounded.
A triumphant smile spread across Jiang Zhuangzhuang’s face.
It had to be his Sister Fang, always thinking of him.
However, Fang Muyu’s next sentence froze Jiang Zhuangzhuang completely.
“We can use this wall as a key negative example to warn all students to study hard and never write wrong characters, lest they become laughingstocks.”
Fang Muyu paused, then added, “Jiang Zhuangzhuang, what do you think?”
He didn’t think much of it. Jiang Zhuangzhuang’s face fell.
If this wall really became a negative example, wouldn’t he be laughed to death by his little followers? No way, absolutely not.
“I’ll go clean it right now, I’ll clean it immediately. I can definitely clean it off.”
“No need to clean it. I think Comrade Fang’s suggestion is excellent. Let’s keep this wall as it is!”
Principal Su had walked over at some point, making the final decision.
Jiang Zhuangzhuang instantly deflated, his whole spirit wilted.
“Teacher Qin, how are Jiang Zhuangzhuang’s grades?” Fang Muyu suddenly asked an unrelated question.
Teacher Qin didn’t speak, just shook her head.
Fang Muyu already had a good idea about Jiang Zhuangzhuang’s grades. Asking was just to make what came next more logical.
“I think if Jiang Zhuangzhuang can change, we can give him a chance.”
Jiang Zhuangzhuang immediately perked up his ears.
Principal Su was also curious about the chance Fang Muyu mentioned. “Comrade Fang, what do you mean?”
“Use new honors to prove one’s journey.” Fang Muyu smiled meaningfully. “If Jiang Zhuangzhuang gets first place, wouldn’t this wall perfectly prove his progress?”
“Then you’d be a role model for the whole school!” Fang Muyu patted Jiang Zhuangzhuang’s shoulder.
Teacher Qin and Lin Xiaoxiao’s eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
The student ranked last in the grade had become first—were they sure this wasn’t a dream?
The key was that one dared to say it, and the other dared to agree.
“Sister Fang, you’re absolutely right. If I become first in the grade, I’ll tell them that I wrote those typos on purpose, just to test whether they can recognize the characters.”
Jiang Zhuangzhuang couldn’t help but grin foolishly at the thought of everyone crowding around him and praising him.
“It seems Student Jiang Zhuangzhuang is very confident. Then, let’s use this semester’s final exam results as the benchmark. We’ll wait and see if Jiang Zhuangzhuang achieves first place.” Principal Sun made the final decision.
The foolish Jiang Zhuangzhuang had no idea what kind of turbulent days awaited him in the future.
He was still fantasizing about how, after becoming first in the grade, he’d get his dad to buy him a tin toy car—the latest model.
While the others continued tidying up the school, Principal Sun walked over to Fang Muyu. “Comrade Fang, would you be interested in teaching at our school?”
“Principal Sun, aren’t you afraid that I might not have even graduated from elementary school? I might even teach the kids that 1+1 equals 3.” Fang Muyu chuckled.
“Looking at how clever you are, Comrade Fang…” Principal Sun paused, a glint flashing in his eyes. “I bet you could even convince everyone that 1+1 is greater than 3!”
Fang Muyu had never considered finding work on the island.
After all, even if she just lay around, Lu Yancheng could support her and the child.
Even if Lu Yancheng couldn’t, her little nest egg was quite substantial—enough to support herself and the child for a lifetime.
However, staying on the island to rest during her pregnancy was indeed quite boring.
And sometimes, when Lu Yancheng wasn’t home, she felt too lazy to do things and could really use some help.
After a brief moment of thought, Fang Muyu made a decision.
“Principal Sun, first of all, thank you very much for your kind invitation. I’d be happy to contribute to the school.”
“But, I’m already pregnant, and I might not be able to handle the school’s workload later on. This…”
Fang Muyu directly threw the problem back to Principal Sun.
Principal Sun thought it was something serious? Just this? Simple.
“Comrade Fang, don’t worry about it. When the time comes, I’ll find another comrade to help substitute.”
“In that case, I’ll gladly accept.”
Fang Muyu agreed very readily.
“Great!” Principal Sun, afraid Fang Muyu might change her mind, quickly added, “Classes resume tomorrow. You can come directly!”
“Alright.” Fang Muyu thought for a moment. “Principal Sun, which class do you plan for me to teach?”
Principal Sun glanced at Jiang Zhuangzhuang in the distance, feeling a bit conflicted.
If he assigned Fang Muyu directly to Jiang Zhuangzhuang’s class, would it scare her off?
After all, Jiang Zhuangzhuang’s class was the rowdiest in the entire school.
Principal Sun tentatively asked, “Comrade Fang, I wonder if you prefer teaching older children or younger ones?”
Was there even a need to ask?
Fang Muyu didn’t hesitate. “Definitely the older ones.”
“What do you think about teaching Jiang Zhuangzhuang’s class?” Principal Sun probed.
What did she think? That would be absolutely perfect!
Fang Muyu guessed that the kids she’d seen gathering seafood on the beach earlier were probably all in Jiang Zhuangzhuang’s class.
Herding one sheep was herding, herding a flock of sheep was also herding—and if it was a flock of familiar sheep, wouldn’t that be even easier?
To shoot a rider, first shoot the horse; to capture a gang of thieves, first capture their leader.
Once she had Jiang Zhuangzhuang under control, the other children would naturally be managed by him.
That would be almost too easy.
Fang Muyu suppressed the corners of her mouth from curling upward, pretending to look somewhat troubled.
“I have no experience, and I’m supposed to manage such big kids right from the start. What if I run into problems?”
As soon as Principal Sun heard Fang Muyu say this, he knew it was settled.
“Don’t worry, no matter what problems you encounter, just come to me, and I’ll help you solve them.”
“Deal.” Fang Muyu had been waiting for Principal Sun to say exactly that. “Thank you, Principal Sun. You really are a great person.”
Principal Sun scratched his nearly bald head.
Why did he feel a bit strange about this?
