Early wintеr hаd arrivеd, its сhill еnvеlоping аll оf Сity A.

Тhе desоlate atmоsphеre in the air sеemеd to mirrоr Jiаng Fu’s current рredicamеnt.

Jiаng Fu wаs 22 уears оld, hаving grаduаted just half а yеar agо. She now hаd only 386.5 lеft to her namе.

Shе сouldn’t еvеn afford neхt month’s rеnt.

Тwo pаcks of Siсhuan рерpеr beef-flаvored instаnt nооdles sat on the small wooden tаblе—her sustenancе fоr today, аnd рossibly tomorrow as well.

Looking around the room, there was hardly anything of value.

Jiang Fu sat cross-legged on the sofa, her entire being looking utterly worn out.

She was anxious—she had no special skills, no striking looks, couldn’t find a job, and was on the verge of becoming homeless and starving to death.

“A third-rate university, a useless major… my life is over…”

She felt useless and resented the unfairness of the world.

The dividing line between people could be the college entrance exam, or it could be the amniotic fluid they were born into.

She had been ordinary from birth, her life as stagnant as a pool of dead water since childhood.

Now, to avoid starving, she had only one last choice left.

Jiang Fu rose from the sofa.

She opened the chat interface with an entertainment company’s operations manager from last night. The conversation ended with the other party sending over the terms for streamers:

“Miss Jiang, our company is preparing a new batch of B-tier female streamer groups. Daily livestreams range from 5 to 8 hours, with a guaranteed income of 8,000 to 10,000.”

“Streamers receive a 20% share of gifts, with a minimum of 10,000 per month.”

“Before starting, the company provides a one-month free dance training program, including meals and accommodation during that period. What are your thoughts?”

Reading through the message again, the terms weren’t Jiang Fu’s primary concern. Only the words “meals and accommodation” stood out to her as particularly practical.

But she knew her own limitations, so she typed out her biggest worry and sent it:

“I’ve thought about it, but I still have one question. With an average appearance and no skills, can I really become a streamer?”

As if anticipating Jiang Fu’s question, the other party quickly replied:

“Appearance isn’t important. With makeup and beauty filters, you won’t look bad on camera. Besides, we provide free dance training. As long as you work hard enough, I’m sure you’ll be well-suited for this job.”

The reply was exactly as Jiang Fu expected—like a formulaic response from an operations manager recruiting streamers. It was unoriginal and even carried a hint of deception.

But whether it was deceptive or not no longer mattered. She had no other choice.

This was the only company that had contacted her.

And having someone give you an answer you can accept is far better than being outright rejected.

Picking up the small mirror on the table, Jiang Fu examined her face. She wasn’t ugly, but she wasn’t beautiful either. Her skin tone was the most common light yellow, and her face shape wasn’t particularly smooth. Due to sleepless nights and anxiety, her dark circles were quite noticeable.

But at least her eyes had a lively spark, adding a touch of brightness to her otherwise plain features.

“Maybe I really can do it? If I study dance hard, even if I’m not very pretty, I can rely on talent.”

Even though she knew that in the livestreaming industry, looks accounted for ninety percent of success, Jiang Fu was ready to take a gamble.

A gamble that could turn a bicycle into a motorcycle.

Just as Jiang Fu was about to reply, a mechanical voice suddenly echoed in her mind:”I see potential in you to become a high-quality streamer, so I’ve decided to invest in you by giving you a bottle of S-grade Beauty Optimization Fluid for free.”

“If you become a top-tier streamer within a year, I’ll also level up and offer additional rewards. If you don’t succeed within a year, I’ll reclaim the optimization effects and all the additional benefits it brings.”

“I’m a hands-off nurturing system—no binding to a host, no mission assignments. Whether you succeed or not depends entirely on yourself.”

The voice came and went quickly, delivering a long string of information in one breath.

By the time Jiang Fu processed it, a bottle of pink, semi-transparent liquid was already in her hand.

After digesting the information she’d just heard, Jiang Fu looked at the small vial in her hand and silently grumbled:

“A hands-off nurturing system? Who knows if it’s reliable. S-grade Beauty Optimization Fluid? This thing better not be some kind of poison.”

During her period of unemployment, Jiang Fu had read plenty of system-themed wish-fulfillment novels, but now that it was actually happening to her, she still found it hard to believe.

Just as Jiang Fu was questioning her reality, the system’s voice reappeared, its tone carrying a hint of “believe it or not”:

“My products are top-tier, guaranteed. Drink it without worry—your death wouldn’t benefit me.”

Well, Jiang Fu hadn’t expected her inner thoughts to be overheard so easily. She shook the bottle in her hand, hesitated only briefly, then tilted her head back and drank it down.

Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Watching Jiang Fu down the Optimization Fluid in one go, the hands-off system considered its task complete:

“The Optimization Fluid will take a day to take effect. I’ll check in on your progress from time to time. Bye~”

Jiang Fu: “…”

She never expected the legendary system to log off so quickly.

It was as if it were in a hurry to clock out, unwilling to linger in Jiang Fu’s mind for even a second.

Shrugging, Jiang Fu went back to editing her reply to the entertainment company: “Alright, I can give it a try.”

The other side responded almost immediately:

“No problem, Miss Jiang. Would 1 PM tomorrow work for you to come to the company for a face-to-face meeting?”

A location pin popped up right after, showing the address as Dreamweaving Entertainment Company, located 6 kilometers from Jiang Fu’s rented apartment in the central area of City A.

Just to be safe, she looked it up on Tianyan/ Qichacha and found that Dreamweaving was actually a leading enterprise in the streaming industry, with over 20 influencers under its banner, each boasting millions of followers.

So she typed back without hesitation:

“Sure, see you at one.”

Meanwhile, at Dreamweaving Entertainment Company.

Zhu Lu, the streamer operations manager, put down her phone and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. She seemed to feel that her invitation had been a bit too hasty and let out a quiet sigh.

Inviting someone for an interview without having seen their real photo was like opening a blind box.

If the girl who showed up turned out to be shockingly unattractive, what excuse could she use to turn her away?

After sending her message, Jiang Fu rubbed her empty stomach, set her phone aside, and got up to boil water for instant noodles.

Maybe it was because she’d stayed up too late with insomnia the night before, but Jiang Fu felt her head growing heavy and drowsiness washing over her. She lay down on the sofa and fell into a deep sleep.

In her dream, Jiang Fu felt her body floating weightlessly as if drifting among clouds, with gentle breezes brushing against her face.

The sensation filled her mind with tranquility—a level of comfort in sleep she hadn’t experienced since graduating. Thus, Jiang Fu slept soundly without any dreams, and when she woke up again, it was already eight o’clock the next morning.

Upon waking, Jiang Fu glanced at her phone and rubbed her eyes in disbelief.

Logically, sleeping for so long should leave one feeling groggy and heavy-headed, but Jiang Fu felt refreshed and clear-minded, her body unusually light.

“It seems the S-grade Divine Beauty Optimization Fluid has taken effect,” she thought.

Getting up and dressing, Jiang Fu pushed open her bedroom door and entered the shared living room of the suite.

Here stood the only full-length mirror in the entire suite. Taking a deep breath, Jiang Fu walked up to the mirror.

The moment she saw her reflection, her eyes widened in stunned disbelief, and she instinctively exclaimed, “Holy crap! Is that me?”
