· Is the past more important than the future?

Ryan’s question struck Nico Robin like a bolt from the blue.

She wasn’t so obsessed with history that she would continue chasing the truth of the Void Century while the entire world stood on the brink of destruction.

Thanks to Ryan’s reminder, Robin quickly came to her senses.

That’s right…

How could she have forgotten something so important?

She had been so overjoyed after learning that Saul was still alive…

That she had completely overlooked the world’s impending catastrophe.

“You’re right…” “We have to save the world first.” Robin forced herself to calm down and began thinking about how to accomplish such an impossible task.

However…

It didn’t take long before she found herself completely at a loss.

She simply had no idea how to save the world of One Piece.

Vegapunk had already revealed that within only a few years…

The global sea level would continue rising…

Until the entire world was swallowed by the ocean.

Against a disaster on that scale…

The strength of any individual was insignificant.

Even the Four Emperors couldn’t stop something like that.

She was nothing more than an archaeologist.

What could she possibly do?

Helpless, Robin turned toward Ryan, intending to ask for his advice.

Only then did she realize…

She didn’t even know his name.

Ryan noticed her awkward expression and smiled.

“My name is Ryan.” “And she’s Tsunade.” Tsunade gave Robin a small nod.

Robin bowed politely.

“So you’re Lord Ryan…

and Miss Tsunade.” “I’m sincerely grateful to both of you.” “You’ve allowed me to learn the World Government’s secrets…” “And the truth about the world’s coming destruction.” “But with my own strength…” “Saving the world is nearly impossible.” “Do either of you have any idea how our world can be saved?” Ryan smiled.

“Have you forgotten where Kuma sent you during the Sabaody Archipelago incident?” Robin answered immediately.

“The Bridge Nation…” “Tequila Wolf.” Ryan nodded.

“Seven hundred years ago…” “The World Government began constructing an enormous bridge across the East Blue, supposedly to connect various islands.” “But that bridge was built absurdly high above sea level.” “When you combine that with the fact that the world is destined to sink beneath the sea…” “The purpose of the bridge becomes obvious.” “It was never meant to connect islands.” “It was built in preparation for this catastrophe.” “In other words…” “The World Government has known for a very long time that the world would eventually sink beneath the sea.” He paused before continuing.

“But no matter how high the sea level rises…” “It still can’t completely flood the entire planet.” “There will always be places at much higher elevations.” “For example…” Before Ryan could finish speaking…

Robin had already understood.

“The Red Line.” She continued the thought herself.

“The World Government built the Holy Land, Mary Geoise, on top of the Red Line…” “Not merely to rule over the world from above…” “But also to survive this catastrophe.” “The bridge wasn’t built to connect islands.” “It was built to connect the Red Line.” “If everyone is to survive this disaster…” “They’ll all have to be relocated to the Red Line.” “Only those living there can escape the flood.” Ryan snapped his fingers with a smile.

“Exactly.” “The Red Line is humanity’s only hope.” But Robin’s excitement quickly faded.

A deep frown appeared on her face.

“But…” “Would the World Government…” “Would the Celestial Dragons really allow everyone to live on the Red Line?” Ryan let out a mocking laugh.

“Of course not.” “They’re hiding the coming disaster from the entire world.” “They’re obviously planning to use it as an opportunity to wipe out every potential threat.” “Do you honestly think they’d allow ordinary people to live alongside the Celestial Dragons?” Robin slowly shook her head.

She knew exactly what kind of people the Celestial Dragons were.

Such a thing was absolutely impossible.

No matter how enormous the Red Line was…

No matter how many people it could accommodate…

The Celestial Dragons would never agree.

It was an irreconcilable conflict.

To resolve it…

One side would have to disappear completely.

After a long silence…

Robin finally spoke.

“So…” “If we truly want to save the world…” “We have to overthrow the Celestial Dragons.” “We have to destroy the current World Government…” “And defeat the mysterious Imu.” “Only then…” “Will humanity have any hope of survival.” But another problem immediately presented itself.

The World Government had ruled the world for eight hundred years.

Its foundations ran unimaginably deep.

The Five Elders…

The Holy Knights…

All possessed immortality.

And the being standing above them all…

Imu…

Was an even greater mystery.

Eight hundred years ago…

Joy Boy had failed to defeat the World Government.

More than thirty years ago…

During the God Valley Incident…

Rocks D.

Xebec, Monkey D.

Garp, Gol D.

Roger, Whitebeard, Charlotte Linlin, and Kaido had joined forces to unleash overwhelming attacks against Imu.

Even then…

They had failed to defeat him.

The mighty Rocks had even fallen under Imu’s control.

The monster’s strength was beyond imagination.

And he was immortal.

Robin simply couldn’t picture any way of defeating him.

Could they really rely on Luffy?

His growth had certainly surpassed all expectations.

In only a few short years…

He had become one of the Four Emperors.

But could he truly defeat Imu?

Even Joy Boy had failed eight hundred years ago.

No matter how extraordinary Luffy was…

He was still merely Joy Boy’s successor.

Could he really surpass the original Joy Boy?

And even if…

Just for the sake of argument…

Luffy eventually grew strong enough to defeat Imu…

Would there still be enough time to relocate the entire world’s population to the Red Line before the flood arrived?

At the same time…

Tsunade noticed the increasingly conflicted expression on Robin’s face.

She immediately recognized it.

Robin had fallen into the same confusion Tsunade herself had once experienced.

Back then…

After finishing Boruto…

She had worn exactly the same expression.

Could she truly defeat the Ōtsutsuki Clan by herself?

Smack!

Tsunade suddenly slapped Robin heavily on the shoulder.

The impact jolted Robin back to reality.

Half of her body instantly went numb.

S-So much strength…

“Calm down.” Tsunade spoke firmly.

“Imu may be overwhelmingly powerful in your world…” “But that doesn’t mean he’s unbeatable in every world.” Robin blinked.

“Every…

world?” “That’s right.” Tsunade nodded.

“Allow me to introduce myself properly.” “I’m Tsunade.” “Like you…” “I’m not from this world.” “I’m a ninja from Konohagakure in the world of Naruto.” “My world also has terrifying enemies.” “Your world has Imu.” “My world has the Ōtsutsuki Clan.” “Every single one of them is even more powerful than Imu.” “But Ryan taught me something.” “Beyond every world…” “There are still countless other worlds.” “The strongest person in one world…” “May be nothing more than an ordinary nobody in another.” To prove her point…

Tsunade handed Robin two manga volumes.

Naruto…

And Dragon Ball.

“Read them.” “You’ll understand.” ( End of Chapter )
