“Yоu’re sо busy, yоu рrоbаblу didn’t havе time to memоrizе it еithеr, right? It’s оkay, not bеing аblе to writе it out isn’t еmbarrassing. Аnуwау, I couldn’t writе it еither. At wоrst, we’ll just be рunishеd tо сoру it together.”

Fu Tinghan: “…Mm.”

Jiang Еr gavе him аn еnсоuraging lоok, not daring tо slaсk off аnymоre. She turned her face back to listen to the lecture, occasionally taking notes and highlighting key points.

Hah, the outcome is still uncertain—she could still be a dark horse!

She was determined to tutor Fu Tinghan through the lessons he had missed!

Meanwhile, beside her where she couldn’t see, the boy secretly glanced at her, his pen leaving lines of handwriting on the draft notebook.

Compared to his usual handwriting, it was inexplicably much gentler.

Just like his expression at that moment.

Originally, after Chinese class was supposed to be physical education, but the PE teacher suddenly fell ill. After multiple schedule adjustments, they ended up having physics class for the entire afternoon.

Jiang Er’s head was buzzing from the lessons, wishing she could leave this beautiful world immediately.

“I was wrong, terribly wrong.”

As the school bell rang, she stared blankly at her physics exercise book filled with red crosses, her eyes unfocused.

“I might become a workhorse in the future, but I definitely won’t be a dark horse.”

Little Fatty, who happened to be passing by: “”

“Anything is possible,” he comforted her. “Look, at least you got one question right. It’s not hopeless.”

Jiang Er said quietly, “That was a multiple-choice question. I decided the answer by throwing an eraser.”

Little Fatty laughed awkwardly, “That means you have good luck, and that’s part of your ability too.”

Jiang Er nodded, “I think so too, because the rest were all results I got through careful thinking.”

Little Fatty glanced at her choices, which had precisely avoided all the correct answers, and couldn’t laugh anymore. He sincerely suggested:

“Then maybe you shouldn’t think carefully anymore in the future.”

Jiang Er completely deflated.

“What about you?” Little Fatty casually asked Fu Tinghan. “How many did you get wrong? I didn’t do well this time—I got three wrong.”

Fu Tinghan hesitated for a moment, slowly opened his exercise book, and looked at Jiang Er with a hint of anticipation in his eyes.

The next moment, Jiang Er didn’t even glance at it. With a “snap,” she closed it with the back of her hand.

Fu Tinghan: “”

But Jiang Er gave herself a mental thumbs-up, silently praising her own cleverness.

Great, the face of the underachiever Fu Tinghan was successfully saved.

To prevent something like this from happening again in the future, she pursed her lips and said to Little Fatty with an expression of having seen through it all:

“I really hate people like you who subtly show off their grades. If you dare do this again, we’ll only communicate through message-in-a-bottle from now on.”

Fu Tinghan: “”

Fu Tinghan silently put away his exercise book, his gaze toward Little Fatty carrying a faint hint of reproach.

Little Fatty: Huh, what’s going on?

(●′`●)?

After sending Little Fatty away, most of the people in the classroom had already left.

Jiang Er and Fu Tinghan still had to clean the teaching building.

She packed her schoolbag. “Shall we go too? The sooner we finish cleaning, the sooner we can go home.”

“This has nothing to do with you. Go home and eat.”

After saying this, Fu Tinghan turned and went to the storage room to get the cleaning tools.

When he pushed the door open and came out, there was indeed no one outside.

The classroom and hallway were empty.

He stood there for a while, then quickly went downstairs.

Just as he was about to step out of the shadows of the stairwell, someone shouted his name loudly not far away.

“Fu Tinghan!”He stepped off the last stair and lifted his face.

The light suddenly brightened.

On the dusty cement ground, the girl threw down a large broom, hopped over, and waved at him with a brilliant smile.

She hadn’t left him alone behind.

Fu Tinghan was momentarily dazed.

“What are you standing there for? Come on,” she said again. “We still have to clean the hallway corridors and the little garden next to it. Time is tight, and the task is heavy. Let’s be quick and finish before it gets dark.”

He snapped out of it and walked quickly toward her. “You should go home.”

“If I really left on my own, what kind of person would I be? Friends have to stick together.”

As she spoke, Jiang Er gathered her hair, tying her shoulder-length black locks behind her head. She wasn’t wearing her little bells today; instead, her hair tie was strung with a few colorful glass beads that sparkled brilliantly under the sunlight.

Just as beautiful as her eyes, Fu Tinghan thought inexplicably.

Jiang Er, completely unaware, chattered on:

“Besides, Lin Ling is here too. Who knows what tricks he might pull.”

Just as Fu Tinghan was about to say something, she picked up the broom from the ground and shoved it into his hands.

“This one’s better for sweeping leaves. The kind you were holding is only good for cleaning hallways.”

Their workload wasn’t light. If they didn’t hurry, they might not even make it home before the senior high school students finished their evening self-study.

“Why hasn’t Lin Ling shown up yet?” Jiang Er gritted her teeth. “He wouldn’t slack off and not come, would he?”

“Who said I’d slack off and not come?”

A lazy voice sounded from behind them.

They turned around to see the blue-haired boy with his hands in his pockets, walking toward them in an extremely flashy formation, followed by a group of lackeys. The black diamond earring on his earlobe was glaringly conspicuous.

Jiang Er: “…”

A gaudy and tacky punk.

She turned her head and glanced at Fu Tinghan with satisfaction.

This one’s hair color is much more pleasing to the eye.

“I said I’d come, so I’ll come. I’m not the kind of person who goes back on my word,” Lin Ling said with a haughty expression. “Don’t go around speculating about me with your petty suspicions.”

Jiang Er rolled her eyes. “Since you’re here, do your job properly. No tricks.”

“Wait,” Lin Ling raised his chin and gestured behind him. “I brought gifts.”

Jiang Er: “…”

His lackeys stepped forward in unison, and only then did she see they were carrying several large baskets.

“Crash—”

The baskets overturned, and countless pieces of garbage spilled out, followed by an intense, foul stench.

The lackeys cackled wildly as they pushed the baskets around, trying to spread the garbage more evenly across the ground.

The scene descended into utter chaos.

“We collected this garbage from several streets over,” one of the lackeys proudly puffed out his chest and laughed arrogantly:

“Should keep you busy until tomorrow, hahahahahahahahahaha—”

Jiang Er: “…”

Her silence was deafening.
