The Dottore’s Pride!
19: Chapter 19: The Encounter!
The Dottore’s Pride!
Church of Favonius.
Barbara wiped the sweat from her forehead, then went back to dedicating herself to treating the injured knights.
No matter how exhausting the work was, she always greeted her patients with a bright smile.
And sure enough, the patients felt their suffering ease a little thanks to the deaconess’s smile.
Suddenly, a voice called her name from the direction of the cathedral doors.
Barbara turned her head and saw a sister calling out to her.
She didn’t know what the matter was, so she quickly walked over.
However, as she got closer, she realized that Aether and Paimon were actually there.
Seeing the handsome and charming figure of the Traveler standing before her, Barbara’s gaze instantly wavered.
She didn’t dare to look the young man straight in the eyes, and a faint blush started to paint her cheeks.
No wonder Sister likes him…
He really is incredibly charming…
she thought to herself.
Right then, Paimon spoke up, “Sister Barbara!
We came here because Master Jean asked us to guide some doctors and sisters from the Church of Favonius to the temples, so we can treat the wounded knights there.” Aether then immediately handed Master Jean’s official assignment document to Barbara.
After reading the document carefully, Barbara nodded in understanding.
“I understand the situation.
But, since we are currently severely short-staffed here at the church, I can only bring a few people over there.
I’m truly sorry,” she said with an apologetic expression.
Aether flashed a reassuring smile.
“It’s not a problem.” Paimon smiled proudly as well and puffed out her chest.
“Don’t worry!
Our Traveler here is super strong!” “Yes, I know,” Barbara muttered softly.
Barbara naturally knew that Aether was incredibly strong.
Setting aside his future battle record against the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles, his confrontation with Stormterror yesterday was already proof enough that his strength was far above average.
And thanks to the Traveler’s appearance as well, Mondstadt could finally breathe a sigh of relief from the Anemo Dragon’s rampage.
If this young man wasn’t around, there would definitely have been far more casualties.
Barbara was actually very grateful to the Traveler.
However, every time she remembered the fact that the young man in front of her was secretly in a romantic relationship with her beloved older sister, Master Jean…
not to mention his track record with other women out there…
Barbara’s feelings suddenly became a complicated mess.
She couldn’t hold back her annoyance.
Not long after, Aether led Barbara and the medical team out towards the temples.
However, just as they were preparing to pass through Mondstadt’s main gate, Aether realized that there were many Fatui members gathered, blocking the path.
Among the crowd of Fatui troops, stood three highly conspicuous executive figures.
The Eleventh Harbinger — Childe, Tartaglia!
The Eighth Harbinger — La Signora, Rosalyne!
The Second Harbinger — The Doctor, Il Dottore!
Aether frowned slightly.
Why are Childe and Dottore also in Mondstadt?
As far as he remembered, this wasn’t the time for him to meet those two.
Childe was supposed to only appear when he arrived in Liyue, while Dottore wouldn’t face him until Sumeru.
Then, what exactly is going on right now?
Why are these two dangerous Harbingers suddenly interfering in Mondstadt?
Moreover, the Anemo Archon only had one Gnosis.
Sending three Harbingers at once just to seize a single Gnosis was a massive waste of elite combat power!
There must be an external factor that triggered their arrival.
After thinking for a moment, Aether instantly realized it.
This must be because his true power was accidentally exposed in the Live Stream Room, coupled with the fact that he had now officially become Mondstadt’s Honorary Knight.
Signora must have sensed a massive threat and felt she wouldn’t be able to complete her mission if she had to face Aether alone.
So, the sly fox called for reinforcements from her fellow Harbingers!
Realizing this absurd situation, Aether could only smile in resignation.
Initially, he thought he could just smurf his way through the beginner area with his maxed-out power.
It turns out his enemies retaliated by bringing in Top Players!
This was basically an elite beginner fighting against max-level bosses!
Mondstadt, which was supposed to be a peaceful tutorial training ground, had now turned into a god-tier slaughterhouse!
Three Fatui Harbingers!
A rampaging Anemo Dragon!
A wave of monsters besieging the city!
Not to mention the Abyss Order secretly manipulating things from the shadows!
Crazy!
The storyline had truly gone completely off the rails!
Even so, Aether was not intimidated in the slightest by the situation before him.
He had obtained absolute power from the max-level Emblem of Severed Fate artifact set.
Furthermore, he was already thoroughly familiar with the storyline and the entire skill sets of the existing characters.
Even before he obtained his first elemental power, he discovered that his physical combat talent and abilities were absolutely terrifying.
After meeting Paimon long before they arrived in Mondstadt, he had gone through many battles in the wilderness to hone his combat instincts.
Throughout his journey, he had already explored various maneuvers and sword techniques so he could seamlessly combine them with his elemental attacks later on.
With his mastery of the Anemo element now backed by the destructive power of max-level artifacts…
Aether was confident that facing three Harbingers at once wasn’t impossible.
If he had to face the true form of Dottore, the Second Harbinger, in his prime, Aether might admit that it would be a bit troublesome.
However, the Dottore standing before him right now was highly likely just one of his created ‘Segments’ (clones).
Every time Dottore created a new Segment, the individual power of that Segment would be divided and weaker than his true form.
Considering Dottore had so many clones, the combat power of this particular Segment shouldn’t be too far off from Childe or Signora.
As for Childe and Signora…
there was no need to even ask.
Aether was already deeply familiar with their attack patterns.
He could even dodge their attacks with his eyes closed.
And with his current strength, which was equivalent to a max-level player dropping back into the beginner area, these three Harbingers were truly not fit to be his opponents.
Meanwhile, the three Fatui Harbingers had also noticed the arrival of the Traveler’s group.
Dottore took the first step and walked towards Aether, while Signora and Childe trailed behind him.
From this formation alone, the hierarchy of status and power among the Harbingers was already very clear.
Dottore occupied the Second seat among the Eleven Fatui Harbingers.
Below Pierro, who held the First seat, not a single executive could match Dottore’s madness and power.
Even if Childe and Signora worked together, they wouldn’t be able to lay a scratch on him.
To Dottore, his two colleagues were absolutely no threat.
And both Signora and Childe were acutely aware of this bitter fact, even though they both often dared to bicker with The Doctor in the meeting room.
However, all of that was just empty bluster.
After all, the top three seats of the Fatui Harbingers possessed a massive chasm of power compared to the ranks below them.
Their strength could even rival that of the Gods.
If they were asked to challenge Dottore in an actual fight, they would never dare!
At that moment, Dottore’s face was partially obscured by his signature mask, hiding his true gaze.
He stood right in front of Aether and slowly bowed slightly, offering a polite greeting like a scholar.
“Warm greetings.
I am one of the Fatui Harbingers.
You may call me The Doctor, or Dottore.” Aether looked at him calmly, without showing the slightest hint of fear.
“My name is Aether.
What business do you have blocking my path?” Dottore smiled faintly behind his mask, then with the grace of a gentleman, he stepped back and made way.
“No ill intentions whatsoever.
I simply thought that…
while visiting Mondstadt, I should at least greet the Traveler whose name is currently skyrocketing across all of Teyvat.
Since you appear to have urgent matters to attend to, I shall not take up any more of your time.” Hearing that, Aether completely ignored the pleasantries of the three Fatui executives.
He immediately led Barbara and her group past them and continued their journey towards the temples.
Right after Aether disappeared from sight, the smile on Dottore’s lips instantly faded.
The look in his eyes behind the mask turned incredibly cold and serious.
Based on that brief encounter just now, he had deeply analyzed and gauged the Traveler’s strength.
The elemental energy enveloping the young man’s body was unbelievably dense and powerful, showing absolutely no gaps in his defense.
Coupled with the recorded evidence of his combat prowess from the future video…
Dottore realized that if he forced a fight here, this Segment of his would definitely be obliterated.
Even if he summoned all his Segments to gang up on the young man, he might not necessarily win against him.
The Doctor let out a long sigh.
“No wonder he is an existence capable of challenging the Heavenly Principles in the future.
He is indeed truly terrifying.” “By the way…” Dottore glanced at his colleague.
“Signora, I must praise your instincts and vigilance this time.” “Upon realizing that the Knights of Favonius intended to use this Traveler’s absurd power as their main weapon, you were willing to swallow your pride and immediately summon us for reinforcements.” Signora scoffed coldly and looked away without answering.
She knew perfectly well that Dottore said that purely to mock her inability to complete the mission alone.
If it were any other Harbinger throwing that sarcastic remark, she would have already fired back with a sharp insult.
But because it was Dottore, she chose to keep her mouth shut.
She never knew how many Segments this madman had, nor how much hidden power he possessed.
She would much rather deal with the Third Harbinger, or even the First, than go looking for trouble with Dottore.
On the other hand, Childe actually laughed casually.
“Hahaha!
But I have to admit, that Traveler really is incredibly handsome!
If only I were born a woman, I probably would’ve fallen in love with him at first sight!” Dottore completely ignored Childe’s blabbering.
And so did Signora.
The elegant woman only felt that Tartaglia, the youngest among the Harbingers’ ranks, was truly useless.
Even though he was good at fighting, the young man had absolutely no brains for tactics!
He was just a brainless musclehead!
If Aether really had attacked them earlier, this foolish young man would have definitely died instantly in one strike.
Signora seriously couldn’t understand why the Tsaritsa sent this idiot to Mondstadt with her.
Dottore then slowly raised his head, looking straight towards the tallest structure in Mondstadt: the Statue of Barbatos in the main plaza.
“Alright, enough with this useless nonsense.” Dottore smirked faintly.
“Now…” “Let us go pay our respects to the Anemo Archon.”
