God-Tier Visual Effects!
8: Chapter 8: Terrifying Celestial Phenomenon!
God-Tier Visual Effects!
In the past, ten minutes might have felt incredibly short, passing by in the blink of an eye.
But now, those ten minutes felt excruciatingly long, as if hours had gone by.
Amber was well aware of the barrage of comments flooding the Live Stream Room, but she was so embarrassed that she didn’t dare to look at them again.
If she kept reading them, she might be too mortified to even sleep tonight.
Before long, amidst this awkward and ambiguous atmosphere, the ten minutes quietly slipped away.
Suddenly, Aether and Amber realized that they had regained control of their bodies.
Aether’s face beamed with relief.
He immediately said, “Looks like the ten minutes are finally up.
Let me put you down now.” Hearing that, Amber’s petite frame trembled slightly.
She hesitated for a moment before murmuring softly, “Um…” Even though she had wanted this humiliating punishment to end quickly, strangely enough, now that it was actually over, she felt a slight sense of emptiness.
Reluctantly, Amber set her feet back on the ground.
Right then, Paimon floated over and cheered, “Thank goodness, the punishment is finally over!
Now you guys don’t have to stand here awkwardly anymore, we can finally head to Mondstadt!” Amber secretly glanced up at the sky, feeling a bit melancholic.
“Yeah…
it’s finally over.” On the other hand, Aether was actually feeling quite happy.
Now that his first encounter with Amber was over, it meant the main storyline’s progress had taken a massive step forward.
Aether asked inwardly, “System, how much has the storyline progressed now?” [Replying to Host: The Mondstadt main storyline is now 5% complete!] Aether smiled in satisfaction.
It had already reached 5%, it seemed the Mondstadt storyline would be completed in no time.
As far as he remembered, the next part of the story was finding a Statue of The Seven and absorbing the power of the Anemo element.
As long as he managed to acquire the Anemo element, he could enter Mondstadt smoothly.
And once he entered the city, his first battle with Stormterror would be waiting for him!
Amber noticed the Traveler suddenly fall silent.
She tried to find a topic of conversation to break the ice.
“By the way, are you guys actually planning to go to Mondstadt?” Paimon answered enthusiastically, “That’s right!
The two of us have been wandering the Teyvat wilderness for quite a while.
We finally found the way to Mondstadt, the City of Freedom!
I really can’t wait to taste the local delicacies there!” Aether chuckled in amusement, ruffling the hair and rubbing the chubby cheeks of the little glutton.
“You greedy little thing, food is the only thing on your mind.” Amber started to feel curious.
Why was a young man as strong as Traveler Aether so insistent on visiting Mondstadt?
“Actually, what is your purpose for coming to Mondstadt?” Hearing the question, Aether began to recount his backstory.
He explained how he had fought the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles, was sealed away for five hundred years, and was now separated from his missing sister.
Hearing the tragic tale, Amber was shocked; she never expected that the young man in front of her had endured such a heavy past.
For the sake of finding his sister, Aether was even willing to cross the boundaries of worlds and scour every inch of Teyvat.
His strong resolve to reunite his family deeply touched the Outrider’s heart.
“I see…
I understand!” Amber exclaimed with firm determination.
“Later on, I’ll ask the Knights of Favonius to help look for information about your sister!
Don’t worry, if there’s even the slightest bit of news, I’ll let you know immediately!” Aether nodded gently in gratitude.
Suddenly, Amber’s gaze shifted to Paimon.
From the very beginning, she had been curious about this little floating creature.
“And as for this one…
who is she?” Aether flashed a mischievous smile.
“Oh, she’s emergency food!
Her name is Paimon!” Paimon instantly puffed out her cheeks and put her hands on her hips in annoyance.
“How rude!
Paimon is just Paimon!” she protested.
Watching their cute banter, Amber couldn’t hold back her laughter.
She felt the bond between these two travelers was truly close and heartwarming.
…
Following Amber’s lead, Aether and Paimon finally began their journey toward Mondstadt.
Along the way, Aether was endlessly amazed by how vast the continent of Teyvat was in reality.
Its scale far exceeded the size of the map in the game, perhaps dozens of times larger.
Initially, he thought they would arrive in Mondstadt quickly.
However, after walking for quite a distance, he realized that they could only catch a glimpse of the tops of Mondstadt’s buildings in the distance.
Not long after, the three of them arrived in front of a Statue of The Seven.
Enthusiastically, Amber began introducing her nation’s guardian deity statue to Aether.
“This is a statue of Lord Barbatos, the Anemo Archon who protects Mondstadt!” Paimon, as if suddenly remembering something, immediately told Aether to touch the Statue of The Seven.
Aether stared at Paimon for a moment, realizing that this little creature was truly mysterious.
Even after clearing all the game’s chapters, he still didn’t know Paimon’s true identity for sure.
Sometimes Paimon seemed incredibly smart and knowledgeable, but at the same time, she could act incredibly foolish.
However, since he felt Paimon harbored no ill intentions, Aether decided not to dwell on it too much.
Aether stepped forward and placed his palm on the surface of the stone statue, intending to resonate with the Anemo element.
Yet, the very second he touched the statue, an astounding phenomenon occurred!
The once bright and clear blue sky suddenly turned pitch black in an instant!
Tornadoes raged, lightning struck, and thunder roared!
This terrifying, extreme weather phenomenon could even be felt all the way in the heart of Mondstadt.
The entire city’s population looked up, their faces etched with a mix of shock and horror as they witnessed the wrathful sky.
They had absolutely no idea what was going on.
But the very next second, everyone seemed to sense something.
Their gazes unanimously turned toward the outskirts of the city—more precisely, toward the Statue of The Seven.
Suddenly, a pillar of pure Anemo elemental energy erupted from the statue!
The pillar of light pierced the heavens, shattering the thick black clouds above in the blink of an eye!
Inside the city, Venti, the Anemo Archon in disguise, widened his eyes in disbelief.
He stared at that massive, seemingly endless Anemo energy with bated breath, his eyes filled with profound shock.
Since he didn’t know exactly what was happening over there, Venti immediately asked the Anemo elemental spirits to bring him information.
Through the whispers of the wind, he finally understood.
“That Traveler…
he can actually absorb pure Anemo energy directly from my Statue of The Seven?!” Venti stood frozen on the spot, realizing just how insane the young man’s power was.
How could he possibly do such a thing?
In this world, ordinary people couldn’t manipulate the elements without the aid of a Vision.
But this Traveler easily shattered the natural laws of Teyvat and absorbed elemental power directly?
What terrifying strength.
No wonder he managed to survive after fighting the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles.
Venti stared at the sky-shaking pillar of Anemo energy and could only click his tongue in awe inwardly.
Even without his Gnosis, it felt impossible for him to trigger such a devastating elemental explosion all by himself.
Yet the Traveler only needed a light touch to unleash this terrifying phenomenon!
He even looked completely relaxed, as if that colossal energy explosion was merely a trivial matter to him.
If this young man was willing to help him resolve the Dvalin issue, wouldn’t everything become much easier?
A sly smile slowly crept onto the bard’s face, and he began to scheme in his head…
On the other hand, the ones most shaken by this phenomenon were Amber and Paimon.
They never expected that Aether’s light touch on the Statue of The Seven would trigger such a fearsome energy storm.
Recalling the terrifying celestial phenomenon and the raging vortex of Anemo energy just now, their hearts nearly leaped out of their chests.
Strangely, despite standing so close, neither of them felt any wind pressure or danger whatsoever.
They simply assumed that Traveler Aether must have protected them from the explosion’s impact.
Paimon stared in amazement at the streams of Anemo energy now dancing in the palm of Aether’s hand.
“Incredible!
You can really obtain the power of the Anemo element just by touching the statue?!” Many people in Teyvat yearned for power, and Amber was no exception.
After witnessing this miracle firsthand, coupled with the seeds of special feelings that had taken root in her heart due to the previous incident, Amber officially became a loyal fangirl of Traveler Aether!
Amber’s eyes sparkled with sheer admiration, and she exclaimed enthusiastically, “How is it possible for someone to obtain elemental power just by touching a deity’s statue?!” “In our world, only the chosen ones who receive a Vision can control the elements!
But Aether, you can do it without a Vision?!
This…
this is truly a miracle!” Amber was absolutely certain that if a Traveler as powerful as Aether arrived in Mondstadt, he would definitely be able to defeat Stormterror with ease!
While the two girls were making a fuss admiring him, Aether instead furrowed his brow.
He stared at the slowly subsiding celestial phenomenon in utter confusion.
In the game’s storyline, the scene where he absorbed the Anemo element was supposed to be very simple.
Why did it trigger such an earth-shattering celestial phenomenon now?
Suddenly, he remembered something.
Didn’t the Interactive Live Stream Room reward him with ‘God-Tier Visual Effects’?
After thinking about it, he was 100% certain that the chaotic phenomenon just now was the doing of that ridiculous effect.
Aether could only smile bitterly.
Although he had to admit the effects looked incredibly epic and its range was vast enough to reach Mondstadt…
the reality was, this damn skill didn’t deal any actual damage whatsoever.
It was purely just a flashy extra visual effect!
Naturally, it wasn’t nearly as practical as the Emblem of Severed Fate artifact set.
But to be honest, with the terrifying power of max-level artifacts combined with this god-tier skill visual effect…
wasn’t he just like a Top Player wearing the most expensive skin?
Insanely overpowered and full of style!
Besides, who wouldn’t love having a lethal skill wrapped in super cool visual effects?
At the very least, Aether himself liked it quite a bit.
