Paimon flew out from behind Aether and floated in front of Amid, looking shocked.
“Wow!
That move you just did was amazing!” he exclaimed.
Amid put his hands on his hips, raised his little head, and looked proud.
But soon, his pride froze on his face.
A wave of intense exhaustion surged up, and Amid froze.
Paimon was watching him.
“Eh?” He leaned in a little closer.
“What is wrong?
Are you not feeling well?” His voice was filled with genuine concern.
Amid shook his head.
Then— “Grrr~” His stomach growled.
Everyone could hear it.
Paimon paused, then burst out laughing.
“What the, so you are just hungry!” He breathed a sigh of relief, a smile on his little face.
But the next second— “Grrr~” Another stomach growl.
Not Amid’s.
It was Paimon’s own.
Paimon froze.
He looked down at his stomach, his little face turning red at a visible speed.
“Hehe…” He scratched his head sheepishly.
“Hearing that sound made me hungry too…”
Aether watched him and could not help but smile.
Tighnari also laughed, very gently.
He looked at the sky, then around the area, and clapped his hands.
“Then let us take a break here and have dinner while we are at it.”
“Yay!
Great!” Hearing that they could eat, Paimon immediately perked up, the previous embarrassment instantly thrown to the back of his mind.
Amid, however, had no intention of waiting for them to cook.
He was starving.
He looked around, and his gaze soon landed on a patch of ground not far away— there was a zaytun peach plant with bright red fruits hanging from it, glowing with an enticing luster in the sunlight.
Amid’s eyes lit up, he flapped his wings, and flew straight over.
Then he raised his little claws, his eyes lighting up with blue light— Confusion activated!
Four zaytun peaches were plucked and floated in front of him.
Amid used Confusion to carry them as he flew back to Nahida.
Then, he handed the largest one to Nahida.
“Bee~” ‘Mom, here you go.’
Nahida looked down at the fruit, then at Amid’s sparkling blue eyes.
He reached out and took the zaytun peach.
“Thank you,” he said softly, then reached out to rub Amid’s little head.
Amid squinted his eyes, looking thoroughly satisfied.
Then, carrying the remaining three zaytun peaches, he flew up to sit on Nahida’s shoulder and picked one up to start gnawing on it.
As for the others?
He did not share.
It was not because he was stingy, but because there was not enough to go around, and he needed all three to be full.
Paimon floated over, watching him gnaw on the zaytun peach with gusto, and asked curiously, “If you eat that many fruits, you will not be able to eat dinner later.”
Amid looked up at him, his mouth still stuffed with fruit flesh, and called out indistinctly: “Bee~ Bee~” ‘It is fine, I can eat.’
It was then that Nahida spoke.
He looked at Paimon, his tone very serious: “Amid was only born two days ago and cannot eat human food yet.”
As soon as these words were spoken, the three people present froze simultaneously.
Tighnari, Aether, and Paimon— six eyes stared straight at Amid.
Only born two days ago?
Is that not just a little baby?
Only two days old, and he already has that kind of combat power?
Paimon widened his eyes, looking at Amid in disbelief.
“Ah?” he exclaimed, “So you are that young?”
Amid swallowed the fruit flesh in his mouth, looked up, and saw Paimon’s shocked expression.
Then he— stuck out his tongue.
He made a face.
“Bee~” ‘Even though I am young, I am stronger than you!’
Paimon understood.
He crossed his arms, tilted his head, and “humphed” with a look of annoyance.
“Big deal!”
He said that with his mouth, but in his heart, he was incredibly envious.
To be so powerful at such a young age— when would he ever have such powerful abilities?
Tighnari watched the two bickering and could not help but laugh out loud.
Aether’s mouth also curved upward.
Nahida sat to the side, holding the zaytun peach Amid had given him in his arms, watching the little guy on his shoulder gnawing on his fruit, his eyes curving into two crescent moons.
Although Paimon said “Big deal,” his gaze could not help but drift toward Amid.
Watching him eat so deliciously, he suddenly felt a bit hungry too.
“That…
is it good?” he asked in a low voice.
Amid looked up at him, then looked down at the two remaining zaytun peaches in his arms.
He hesitated for a second.
Then, he picked one up and held it out toward Paimon.
“Bee~” ‘I will share one with you.’
Paimon paused, then his eyes lit up.
“Really?
Thank you!” He flew over, took the zaytun peach, and hugged it to his chest, a happy smile on his little face.
Amid watched him, feeling inexplicably happy.
‘Anyway, I still have one.
If it is not enough, I can find more.’ Thinking this, he picked up the last zaytun peach and continued gnawing away.
Paimon also held his own, floating beside Aether, and ate it in small bites.
Tighnari watched this scene, his smile deepening.
He withdrew his gaze and looked at Nahida.
The barefoot little boy was sitting quietly to one side, holding the zaytun peach Amid had given him, but he had not taken a single bite.
He was just looking down at the fruit, as if looking at something very precious.
Tighnari thought for a moment, then asked, “Little Nahida.”
Nahida looked up at him.
Tighnari’s gaze was gentle, and his tone was gentle too: “Can you tell me what kind of trouble you have encountered?”
