Zhong Suian did not mind at all.

The furniture she had bought was arriving today, and she had already been looking for an opportunity to slip away and check on the house.

Now the perfect chance had presented itself.Full novel: Global Devaluation: The Fake Heiress Earns a Million a Day and Lifts Her Whole Family — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

She nodded.

“Sure. But my house is a little far away. Are you sure you want to go?”

The red-haired boy scoffed disdainfully.

“This community is only so big, and we have a driver. How far could it possibly be?”

She had already started making excuses.

She was clearly feeling guilty.

Zhong Suian nodded.

“Alright. Don’t regret it later.”

However, when the bus stopped at the temporary parking area outside Dongxing Royal Residence, everyone froze.

The moment they got off, they saw a winding, tree-lined road stretching uphill.

Rare flowers and valuable trees were planted along both sides.

But that slope…

“Damn!”

Someone cursed under his breath.

“Where the hell did you bring us? What kind of ridiculous place doesn’t even let cars drive up?”

“Zhong Suian, are you messing with us? Does this look like somewhere people live?”

“Are you cultivating immortality up there?”

Someone pointed at the road with a horrified expression.

“Don’t tell me you expect us to climb all the way up!”

They seriously suspected Zhong Suian was using this opportunity to torment them.

Still, despite their complaints, the thought of exposing her lies was too tempting.

After exchanging glances, they decided to continue.

“Fine, let’s go. I want to see how long you can keep pretending!”

The red-haired boy immediately stirred everyone up.

“Come on. Think of it as exercise!”

The boys did not mind much.

But they were supposed to film today, so several girls had applied elaborate makeup and were wearing small heels.

Walking such a long distance under the blazing sun was practically torture.

Ye Qiaoqiao suffered the most.

She wore eight-centimeter stilettos, and her expression was extremely ugly.

Walking at the back of the group, she stared at Zhong Suian with deep resentment.

When Zhong Suian was finally exposed, Ye Qiaoqiao would have to mock her ruthlessly.

Otherwise, this exhausting walk would have been for nothing.

Meanwhile, Master Li had already led the workers in moving almost all the furniture.

He wiped the sweat from his forehead and stood at the villa entrance, checking the inventory.

“Has everything been brought over?”

“Check the list again!”

Once all the furniture had been carried inside, only the final inspection remained.

Master Li nodded and called out to everyone.

“Take a short break.”

“When we remove the packaging later, be extremely careful!”

“Put on shoe covers before entering. Don’t dirty the homeowner’s house!”

“And keep all the furniture dust covers intact!”

The workers rested for another ten minutes and drank some water before gradually returning to work.

Wearing shoe covers and white gloves, they carefully opened the boxes.

As they worked, the chubby boy could not resist looking around.

“My goodness!”

“This living room alone is bigger than my family’s entire house!”

The tall, thin worker was inspecting the massage chair.

Hearing him, he replied enviously,

“Exactly! Look at those floor-to-ceiling windows and the view outside!”

“Being rich really is wonderful.”

“If we hadn’t taken this job, when would people like us ever get the chance to enter a mansion like this?”

While everyone chatted, one temporary worker quietly crept deeper into the hallway.

The chubby boy had sharp eyes and immediately shouted,

“Hey! You over there!”

“Isn’t all the furniture in the living room? Why are you heading toward the bedrooms?”

The man jumped in fright and stammered,

“N-Nothing. I just wanted to look around.”

After speaking, he quickly slipped into a room and shut the door behind him.

His suspicious behavior made Zhong Yaoran frown.

He put down what he was holding.

“You guys keep working. I’ll go check.”

Zhong Yaoran hurried over.

When he opened the door, he saw the worker standing with his back toward the entrance, undoing his waistband.

“What are you doing?”

“Shit!”

The man trembled in fright, his face turning bright red.

“What’s it got to do with you?”

“Let go of me! Can’t I take a piss if I need to?”

But Zhong Yaoran refused to release him.

He dragged the man toward the door.

“How many times did Master Li warn us not to relieve ourselves inside?”

“Did you ignore everything he said?”

Instead of stopping, the worker became furious from embarrassment.

“Why are you meddling so much?”

“This isn’t your house!”

“What’s wrong with me taking a piss here?”

“I do it wherever I want at construction sites!”

Their argument grew louder and louder, attracting all the other workers.

Master Li pushed through the crowd and reached the front.

“What’s going on?”

“Why are you arguing instead of working?”

The temporary worker showed no guilt whatsoever.

Instead, he spoke as though he were completely justified.

“I only wanted to take a piss, but he wouldn’t let me!”

“You think you’re some moral role model?”

“You’re working so hard as a rich person’s dog. Did they reward you with a bone?”

The chubby boy and the tall worker immediately stepped forward to defend Zhong Yaoran.

“Watch your mouth! Who the hell are you insulting?”

“You tried to urinate inside the homeowner’s house, and you still think you’re right?”

“Are you trying to drag the entire team down with you?”

Veins bulged across Master Li’s forehead.

He pointed at the man and shouted,

“You bastard!”

“Thank goodness Yaoran stopped you!”

“Otherwise, how would I explain this to the homeowner?”

Seeing that no one supported him, the worker’s expression shifted between green and white.

Suddenly, he shoved Zhong Yaoran hard.

Caught off guard, Zhong Yaoran staggered several steps backward and fell heavily onto the nearby sofa.

The force tore a vicious opening through the brand-new dust cover.

Dust from his work clothes smeared a large stain across the green fabric.

The entire room instantly fell silent.

The chubby boy shakily stepped forward and checked the price tag.

His face turned pale.

“T-This sofa costs more than three yuan…”

Zhong Yaoran hurriedly stood up.

Ignoring the pain in his body, he immediately inspected the sofa.

More than three whole yuan.

His monthly wages from part-time work were only twenty cents.

Unfortunately, the stain was far too obvious.

There was no way to fix it.

“Oh no, this is terrible.”

The temporary worker, on the other hand, broke into a delighted smile.

“That sofa costs more than three yuan.”

“You couldn’t afford to compensate for it even if you sold yourself!”

He covered his mouth and laughed maliciously.

“And what about you two?”

“Why have you suddenly gone quiet?”

“Aren’t you supposed to be good brothers?”

“Why don’t you help him repay it?”

Master Li’s expression was also grim, but he still patted Zhong Yaoran’s shoulder.

“Don’t panic.”

“This wasn’t your fault.”

He sighed.

“I’ll speak with the homeowner later and see whether we can reduce the compensation.”

“Don’t worry too much yet.”

Just then, the villa’s smart lock suddenly let out several beeps.

The handle turned.

The front door opened.

Zhong Suian had arrived.
