【Mist Continent Announcement】
“Congratulations on making it through your first day on this continent. This is a good start.
But the extreme cold air has not stopped advancing. Please collect enough supplies as soon as possible to deal with the crisis.
I believe everyone obtained the iron treasure chest gifted to you. Quite a few lucky ones even obtained two iron treasure chests, or even a Bronze Treasure Chest!
Today, the total number of people who obtained an additional iron treasure chest is 56,824,825.
The total number of people who obtained a Bronze Treasure Chest is 1,981,280.
Survivors who did not obtain an additional treasure chest, do not lose heart. A task is now being issued: those who upgrade their shelter before midnight tonight will receive a Practical Tools Gift Pack!”
As soon as the announcement appeared, the World Chat Channel instantly exploded:
“How can some people obtain two treasure chests? I thought everyone only got one!”
“Same here! It feels like I missed out on a hundred million!”
“Exactly. If I had known, I should have wandered around the area surrounding my shelter more. It’s my fault for being too diligent and cutting trees all day!”
“So many people actually obtained additional treasure chests. How are us african chiefs supposed to live?”
“Brother upstairs, please don’t launch personal attacks. We Africans are living just fine.”
“I almost forgot this is World Chat. There are foreigners here too.”
“The probability actually isn’t high. The number looks large, but there are more than eight billion people in total. Less than one percent obtained an iron treasure chest. As for the probability of obtaining a Bronze Treasure Chest... I don’t have a calculator, so I can’t work it out.”
“These are genuine european emperors! Big shots, come out and let me absorb some luck.”
“Hahaha, I only have one more iron treasure chest than you. It’s nothing worth mentioning~”
“A tiny Bronze Treasure Chest. I’m embarrassed to show it.”
Li Qinglang had not expected nearly two million people to have obtained bronze treasure chests as well. He put away his pride. He was not special, and should find a way to expand his early advantage and survive better!
As he thought this, new changes appeared in the chat channel:
“Big shots, post the good things you obtained for us to see and broaden our horizons.”
“Exactly, exactly. Post them for us to see. There’s no need to worry about by someone snatching them anyway.”
After a brief silence, several item information entries were indeed thrown into the chat box.
Even Li Qinglang, who possessed a Bronze Treasure Chest, was dumbfounded. He could not help sighing, “now this is what real luck looks like!”
【Heavenly Dipper Array Formation Core（Excellent）】
Introduction: An ancient formation combining defense and attack. After the Formation Core is placed, the Heavenly Dipper Array will be generated within a radius of twenty meters, with it as the center!
Within the formation, the effects of natural weather such as cold currents, strong winds, sandstorms, and earthquakes are slightly reduced.
It deals slight damage to external creatures that intrude into the formation and provides relatively good defense to everything within the formation’s range.
Note: You are the master of your territory!
This was followed closely by a statement from the owner of the Formation Core:
Huang Zhiteng: “Hello, everyone. Not only is the Heavenly Dipper Array mine, but last night’s Excellent Grade Mist-Piercing Glasses were mine as well. I am not showing off; I want to establish a Survivor association!
Humans should unite and help one another on this mysterious Mist Continent. Survivors who join the association can exchange the information and resources they obtain with one another.
We are currently recruiting only high-quality allies. Survivors with special resources or precious information are welcome to join. No freeloaders.”
Taking advantage of the topic’s popularity, Huang Zhiteng revealed shocking news. He alone possessed two Excellent Grade items, and both were extremely powerful!
Relying on these two items, he began establishing his own faction. Without a doubt, although this kind of organization was loosely structured, it would definitely become a source of assistance for his own development!
On the Mist Continent, not only resources but information was equally important.
If Li Qinglang had not discovered that giant palm print, he would never have considered trading for weapons, land mines, traps, or other self-defense items.
Without any preparations, if he truly encountered that unknown creature, even surviving with nine deaths and one life would have been an extravagant hope.
“With purified spring water, I can definitely join his association. However, I can wait and see first. There must be more than one similar association.”
As Li Qinglang pondered, several more items were posted:
【Shelter Expansion scroll（Excellent）】
Introduction: Expands the Shelter’s area by ten percent. The expanded area changes according to the Shelter Level; the higher the level, the greater the expansion. Each shelter can use only one Expansion scroll.
Note: Don’t you want a larger and more comfortable living environment?
【Spatial Bracelet（Excellent）】
Introduction: A bracelet containing spatial technology, with a space of twenty cubic meters hidden inside.
Note: With it, you will never again have to laboriously transport supplies.
【Healing Potion blueprint（Fine）】
Introduction: A blueprint recording the formula for producing healing potions. They can be made after enough materials are collected.
Required materials: hidden by the owner
Note: healing potions are highly effective against internal injuries, external injuries, and common illnesses.
These three items were also extremely practical, especially the Spatial Bracelet. One person could carry as much as a heavy-duty truck with eight rear wheels.
One Excellent Grade item after another was displayed. While they caused everyone to marvel, they also stabilized people’s spirits in another way.
The Mist Continent was mysterious and dangerous. Although most people had not obtained powerful items, there was ultimately still hope!
After Huang Zhiteng, many others also began establishing their own factions, including some former official figures from Blue Star.
However, after pondering for a long time, Li Qinglang ultimately decided not to join any organization!
He did not believe that a group established in a world where people could not even meet face-to-face could be very sturdy. Even when he had previously gone to work at a company, with the boss sitting right across from them, some people still slacked off and idled.
A group’s power could be borrowed, but it could not become one’s hope for survival. In this world, only by becoming strong enough and possessing enough resources could one live better.
By the same logic, he could befriend and cooperate with the various groups being established, but could not join them.
Although joining would not impose any real restrictions, after all, if you refused to obey, it was impossible for anyone to actually come through the internet to beat you up.
In a world where one could not even control one’s own survival, controlling others was even more out of the question.
Li Qinglang refused to join because he feared developing a sense of dependence and mistaking others for his own hope.
He had a premonition that the approaching cold current would definitely deal a fatal blow to all of humanity!
The various powerful items appearing in the chat channel did not bring Li Qinglang peace of mind. Instead, he was now panicking badly.
Was the System really this kindhearted? Giving away so many powerful items for free—why?
Because the System believed that humanity might very well be unable to survive the approaching harsh winter!
Li Qinglang considered his plans for the future:
“I had originally planned to sharpen my tools before cutting wood, first trading for a handy logging tool or a self-defense item.
But the task issued by the System cannot be ignored. After all, there’s no reason to refuse a Practical Tools Gift Pack.”
At present, he was still short forty pieces of wood and twenty pieces of stone. Since most people did not have a pickaxe, stone cost several times as much as wood.
Li Qinglang planned to use fifty milliliters of purified spring water to trade for twenty pieces of stone, then use two portions of fifty milliliters of purified seawater to trade for twenty pieces of wood each.
Spring water could increase one’s physique and regulate the body. Moreover, it was Excellent Grade drinking water, so its value would be somewhat higher.
Purified seawater had antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects and was likewise suitable for a wide range of people.
Of course, it would be best if he could trade for forty pieces of wood at once. Li Qinglang was not short of seawater, and this would save one trade. However, the water resources in his hands all had functional effects and were not meant for quenching thirst.
Now, because the System Announcement task had caused the value of wood and stone to skyrocket, hardly anyone bought them for storage. People bought a portion only when they had an immediate need.
After thinking it over, Li Qinglang decided to first call out the purified spring water in the World Chat Channel and test the response.
He picked up the opened coconut and poured the remaining coconut water into an empty box for temporary storage. Then he used the stone axe to knock the coconut shell into three pieces, which could be used to hold water for sale.
