The entire place was silent.
Pin-drop silent.
One could even hear the heartbeat of the people present.
"Is that Arthur?"
The beautiful woman in her twenties could now clearly see the newcomer’s face. Her eyes widened in disbelief, and she was not the only one. Everyone present, especially Arthur’s cousins, recognized him.
They knew him very well. He was the infamous degenerate of the Miller family, a young man who lived off the money left behind by his youngest uncle and wasted it on a woman who maintained friendships with multiple wealthy men.
But the Arthur they remembered had always looked lethargic, weak, and often drunk.
The man standing before them now was completely different.
He radiated the presence of a king, an ancient monarch who had somehow stepped into the modern world.
Arthur slowly looked at the man he was holding by the throat.
"Eclipse Organization, huh? Your leader is Henry Cosby, also known as The Wolf, correct?"
The man’s eyes widened.
The Eclipse Organization was known only among the most influential underworld gangs. Even then, almost nobody knew the true identity of its leader. Most people knew him only by his alias, The Wolf.
"How do... you k...now? Who are you?" the man asked with difficulty.
Arthur continued gripping his throat.
"Who am I?"
Arthur repeated the question as though genuinely pondering it.
A cold smile appeared on his face.
"I am the Death of the Eclipse Organization. That’s for sure."
This world was far more complicated than ordinary people could imagine.
Even before the descent of the game, countless hidden families existed throughout the world. They possessed strange techniques that allowed them to cultivate something known as inner energy.
Some of these people were so powerful that they could fight against tanks with their bare hands.
In his previous life, Arthur had eventually become one of humanity’s strongest powerhouses.
Yet even at his peak, he had never entered the top one hundred.
The people from those hidden families had always dominated the highest positions on the global rankings.
Among players from ordinary backgrounds, only Varian Velmire, the world’s strongest Necromancer, had managed to claim the top position.
Ranks two through one hundred were almost entirely occupied by members of hidden families and other ancient powerhouses.
Henry Cosby, The Wolf, was one of them.
He had been among the top fifty powerhouses in Arthur’s previous life and was also a powerful inner energy user.
Not only that, nearly every major underworld organization was controlled by people belonging to these extraordinary groups.
Arthur had only learned about their existence much later.
And they were not the only ones.
There were also biologically enhanced superhumans who used powerful animal genes to obtain unimaginable physical abilities. Some of them were strong enough to fight against inner energy users known as martial warriors.
The government and the world’s most powerful elite families possessed such beings to keep the martial warriors under check.
However, these enhanced humans often possessed limited rationality. After the game descended and the world changed, most of them struggled to adapt and gradually lost their former advantages.
This was a world filled with terrifying powers.
Arthur might have become powerful, but he was still nowhere near strong enough to receive an invitation to the gatherings of the world’s true top powerhouses.
This time however, he wanted to suppress all of them.
"You are courting death," the man said through gritted teeth. "Do you have any idea who we are?"
"Too noisy."
Arthur’s expression remained indifferent. He raised his free hand and swung it once.
Slash!
The man’s head was severed from his body. The entire floor was already stained with blood.
Those whose limbs had been severed could only lie on the ground and stare at Arthur in horror.
They had killed countless people throughout their lives.
Yet the young man standing before them gave off an unfathomable presence.
It was a presence that reminded them of only one person.
Their leader.
The Wolf.
Arthur casually looked at the people scattered across the floor. Then his gaze shifted toward his cousins.
They were all trembling.
"Do you wish to survive in the upcoming era?"
Arthur’s voice was calm.
"Or do you wish to perish?"
"What...?"
His cousins were baffled by the question.
"Of course we want to survive..."
One of them answered instinctively.
"Then go and kill all of them."
The moment those words left his mouth, Arthur’s figure vanished.
He still had to deal with the remaining foot soldiers on the lower floors.
"Gulp."
Alexander swallowed nervously.
Arthur had already reached Level 10 and had become a terrifying existence.
Perhaps he had used the fifty billion Arvian Dollars to establish a Platinum foundation.
That was the only explanation Alexander could think of.
His cousins all now had an unusual look on their facrs.
Arthur’s voice continued to echo inside their minds.
Do you want to survive?
Then kill, or be killed.
Noah clenched his fists. His eyes burned with fury.
Just moments ago, he had experienced an overwhelming sense of powerlessness.
He had been practicing martial arts before the game’s descent, which was why he had been unaware of the game.
They had only learned about the terrifying truth that game abilities could be brought into the real world an hour ago.
Furthermore, their family did not possess enough gaming consoles for everyone.
That was why they had already fallen far behind others.
"Ahhhhh!"
Noah suddenly roared in anger.
He grabbed a fruit knife from the table and rushed toward the gang members.
He began slashing wildly.
They were players, but their hands and feet had already been severed. Their physical strength was not much greater than that of ordinary humans.
Not everyone possessed a Divine Foundation like Arthur.
As a result, Noah managed to kill two of them relatively easily.
Seeing Noah take action, the other cousins seemed to have been injected with adrenaline.
"Kill them!"
Boom!
They rushed forward, grabbing whatever weapons they could find before attacking the remaining gang members.
The elders stood there completely dumbfounded.
When had their sons become this bloodthirsty?
Yet none of them tried to stop their children. They understood one thing very clearly.
The upcoming era was going to be anything but peaceful.
Meanwhile, Arthur had already appeared on the twenty-ninth floor.
Gang members were stationed throughout the floor, pointing guns at the terrified employees.
These employees were ordinary humans.
They had no way to resist.
Slash!
Before anyone could even react, the gang members suddenly collapsed as their heads were severed from their bodies.
"Ahhhhh!"
The employees screamed in terror as they witnessed the horrifying scene.
But Arthur was already gone.
He had moved toward the next floor.
He would kill every last bastard standing in his way.
