Lin Qiye felt that An Qingyu made sense, so he gave up the idea of treating him to a meal.
He turned and walked into the cabin, only to find the passengers moving about as usual.
It seemed they hadn’t been affected by the earlier fight at all.
Fragments of images flashed through Lin Qiye’s mind.
Passengers in the cabin lay scattered in pools of blood.
The memory vanished like bubbles in an instant.
Lin Qiye rubbed his brow, feeling as though he had forgotten something again.
He returned to the cockpit.
The aircraft suddenly lurched forward violently.
Lin Qiye stumbled, crashing toward the hard console.
An Qingyu reacted swiftly, wrapping an arm around Lin Qiye’s waist and discreetly squeezing it a few times.
“Qiye, be careful.”
Lin Qiye had intended to say that he didn’t actually need support, even if he hit the console, he would’ve been fine.
But when he looked up and noticed the abnormal red veins in the captain’s eyes, a sense of alarm rose in his chest.
“He’s been mentally controlled. He’s trying to crash the plane.”
An Qingyu raised a hand and knocked the captain unconscious, then sat down in the pilot’s seat, his fingers rapidly operating the controls.
Lin Qiye stared in astonishment.
“You can even fly a plane?”
A subtle curve lifted at An Qingyu’s lips.
“I will in one second.”
“Not only that, I can drive, too.”
As he said this, there was a meaningful look in his expression, hinting at something more.
Lin Qiye didn’t quite grasp the deeper implication. Being able to drive was perfectly normal, after all.
Still, the fact that An Qingyu could learn to fly a plane in a single second made him practically monstrous.
His long, elegant fingers tapped rapidly across the controls.
Soon enough, under An Qingyu’s operation, the plane landed smoothly.
The relief on Lin Qiye’s face was visible to the naked eye. Fortunately, nothing had gone wrong.
An Qingyu cast him a sideways glance, a faint smile lifting his lips. “Oh? You didn’t trust me?”
Lin Qiye answered without hesitation, “Correct.”
An Qingyu wasn’t annoyed. His brows curved with amusement.
“I helped you so much in this case. Don’t you think you should show a little appreciation?”
Lin Qiye paused for a moment.
“Huh? Aren’t we brothers? Do we really need to make a big deal out of thanking each other?”
An Qingyu suddenly stood up and leaned in close to Lin Qiye, his tone layered with meaning.
“You don’t have to thank me formally. I’ll just take my compensation myself.”
Lin Qiye found his words baffling.
“What are you taking?”
An Qingyu didn’t answer. He packed up his belongings.
Before getting off the plane, he left behind one sentence:
“You’ll find out about the compensation in the future.”
A subtle curve tugged at his lips, and something unreadable flickered in his eyes.
Watching An Qingyu’s departing figure, Lin Qiye was utterly puzzled.
“Since when did An Qingyu start speaking in riddles?”
The way a lunatic’s mind worked was incomprehensible, so he decided not to dwell on it.
After finishing the cleanup work with his teammates, he returned to his room to rest.
As usual, Lin Qiye poured milk over some oatmeal and drank it. Soon, his consciousness began to grow heavy.
“Mm, this milk really does help with sleep.”
He lay down on the bed and closed his eyes.
Before long, Lin Qiye’s breathing became steady.
The delicate, handsome young man lay there asleep, looking as though nothing could wake him no matter what was done.
An Qingyu arrived with practiced ease.
Lowering his gaze, he stared at the boy’s rosy lips, the delicacy he had longed for day and night.
“Qiye, I’ve come to collect my compensation.”
An Qingyu gently touched the faintly reddened corner of Lin Qiye’s eye, then bent down and bit the boy’s lips.
The cotton pajamas and the white lab coat fell to the floor together, tangled with one another.
“Qiye, relax,” An Qingyu murmured as he climbed up along Lin Qiye’s waist.
In his sleep, Lin Qiye felt a weight pressing down on him, making it hard to breathe.
Groggily, he had the sensation of being pinned down by a ghost.
ᘻᘿᓍᘺ
Lin Qiye woke up in a daze, feeling a burning pain on his lips.
He walked to the mirror. As expected, a mosquito had bitten his collarbone again.
“Looks like I need to buy some mosquito coils and a net.”
He lightly pressed his swollen lips. Mosquitoes these days were vicious, they even sucked blood from lips.
Fortunately, there weren’t any itchy welts.
Back during recruit training, he had used Baili Pangpang to experiment with summoning magic.
He had summoned several mosquitoes, and Baili Pangpang ended up covered in bites.
Now it was his turn to be bitten.
Lin Qiye rubbed his forehead helplessly. He vaguely felt this was heaven’s retribution for doing something bad.
Beep—
A message arrived on his phone.
【An Qingyu】: I’ve already collected my compensation. I have to say, it was quite delicious.
Lin Qiye was baffled.
“What did Qingyu take?”
He went to check the refrigerator in the kitchen, only to find that no food was missing.
He lifted a foot to head off and wash up. Forget it, no need to overthink it.
After all, it was hard for a normal person to keep up with the thought process of a pervert like An Qingyu.
Lin Qiye had barely taken a few steps forward when his legs suddenly went weak, his strength giving out.
Lin Qiye:
Since when had he become this frail?
It seemed that without training lately, his physical condition had declined quite a bit.
After resting on the sofa for a while, washing up, and eating breakfast, he walked toward the Peace Affairs Office.
Halfway there, a trace of unease surfaced in his heart.
He suddenly sensed the aura of a Western god.
A blond, blue-eyed man emerged from the void before him, a hint of disdain in his eyes.
“You’re Lin Qiye?”
Feeling the dangerous presence, alarm bells instantly rang in Lin Qiye’s mind.
The gap between him and a god was more than just one or two realms.
The blond man glanced down at the photo in his hand. After confirming it, he crushed the picture bearing Lin Qiye’s image into powder.
“Allow me to introduce myself. I am the God of Mischief, Loki. And now, I’m taking you away.”
Lin Qiye feigned calmness.
“My teammates are nearby. I suggest you think twice.”
Loki narrowed his eyes dangerously.
“That’s not up to you.”
The surrounding scenery suddenly shifted into a vast wilderness.
Lin Qiye surveyed his surroundings and quickly understood.
“Trickery, you rewrote space and time.”
Not far from them lay Cangnan City, brightly lit with countless lights.
A triumphant smile spread across Loki’s face.
“So this so-called dual-god proxy is nothing special after all, so easily lured away from Cangnan by me.”
Lin Qiye caught the key point in his words.
“Your goal was to take me away from Cangnan. Why?”
If he, Lin Qiye, were to face Loki, a true god, it would be difficult to retreat unscathed.
Yet Loki hadn’t attacked him, only used trickery to bring him away.
What was his purpose?
Loki did not bother to conceal it.
“Ten years ago, we Outer Gods wrote the name ‘Cangnan’ upon the Damp Grudge Hag.”
“Logically speaking, anything written upon the Damp Grudge Hag should completely disappear.”
Lin Qiye’s heart sank. Cangnan, the place where he lived, where his family, friends, and teammates were.
“But because of the Mortal Divine Domain on your body, the people in Cangnan are still alive.”
“However, the moment you step one foot outside Cangnan, the Mortal Divine Domain will lose effect, and Cangnan will vanish just like that.”
A cruel smile spread across Loki’s face as he turned, preparing to watch the scene of Cangnan’s disappearance.
“But I’ve already left Cangnan, and yet it still exists,” Lin Qiye said, staring at the sea of distant lights, doubting the truth of Loki’s words.
After all, Loki was the God of Mischief, he could very well be lying.
Loki’s expression faltered.
“How is that possible?”
