By the time Su An took a taxi to the Yu Group headquarters, it was nearly eight o’clock. Since he had been there earlier that morning, he took the CEO’s private elevator and walked toward Yu Feng’s office with practiced ease.

The office was empty; it seemed the meeting was not yet over.

Su An couldn’t help but sigh, feeling a bit of heartache. People aren’t made of iron; if it was eight o’clock and he still hadn’t eaten dinner, his stomach wouldn’t be able to handle it.Full novel: Going Rogue! The wait was a bit boring, so Su An opened his phone to check the messages tagging him in the group chat.

Su Ju: 【Brother Su, I showed it to the director. From his reaction, he absolutely loves it! He said if we can rush the production, it’ll be our main featured item for this month! @Su An】

Looking at this message, Su An couldn’t help but think of a plot point that occurred later in the original story. The Su family was supposed to release a brooch designed by Su Kefan around this same time, which immediately became a massive hit among socialites and the jewelry circle.

With this in mind, Su An came up with a plan and sent a message to Zhang Zhiming.

The sound of footsteps came from outside. Su An’s heart stirred, and he decided to give Yu Feng a surprise. He quickly walked into the lounge attached to the office and softly pulled the door shut.

The office door opened, followed by the sound of rustling. Seeing that the timing was right, Su An intentionally bumped the door with his knee, making a small sound.

The noise outside ceased instantly. Su An was confused—Heavens, I didn’t actually scare him away, did I?

He suppressed his confusion and waited a little longer, but Yu Feng still didn’t open the lounge door. He couldn’t resist any longer; he placed his hand on the handle and pushed the door open to walk out.

At that exact moment, the door was pushed open from the outside first. Su An immediately flashed a brilliant smile and called out, “Yu—”

In the next second, he saw a look of utter disbelief on Zhang Zhiming’s face as the man stared at him, frozen.

Su An: “…Feng.”

Zhang Zhiming was holding a broom he had scavenged from somewhere across his chest, standing in a defensive posture.

Su An: “…”

How was he supposed to explain his presence here?

Zhang Zhiming never would have imagined this. When he received the notice that President Yu wanted to see him while he was on his way home, he assumed it was because of the company’s declining performance. He had been trembling, thinking he was about to be lectured.

The staff at the CEO’s office told him to wait in the room. He was just about to sit down and honestly wait for his scolding when he heard a noise coming from the lounge.

At the risk of being fired, he gathered his courage to see if a thief had broken in. Who could tell him why his “cash cow” was standing behind that door?!

The two of them sat on the sofa now, staring at each other in silence. The atmosphere was incredibly awkward.

Su An managed an awkward smile and greeted the man opposite him, “Good evening, President Zhang.”

President Zhang looked like he was about to cry; even his usually sturdy toupee was drooping now. “It’s not good. I’m not good at all…”

When Yu Feng pushed the door open and entered, he was met with the sight of the two men staring blankly at each other.

“Why are you here?” Yu Feng didn’t pay any attention to Zhang Zhiming; instead, he was pleasantly surprised by Su An’s arrival.

Su An glanced at Zhang Zhiming, who was still dazed, feeling a bit worried about the man’s mental state. “I came to bring you dinner.”

Upon hearing this, Zhang Zhiming felt as if the sky had fallen. So the “back-door hire” was actually the Boss’s Wife!

He shook his head again: No, what back-door hire? When the Boss’s Wife comes, can you even call it that? That is simply bringing glory to Fanjing!

Who on earth had given him the courage to question the Boss’s Wife? Zhang Zhiming frantically tried to recall if he had said anything offensive today.

It was over. He had asked if the Boss’s Wife wanted to enter an entertainment agency. It was over; he had even advised the Boss’s Wife to study hard and work diligently. It was over; he had even allowed Tang Yan to bully the Boss’s Wife right in front of him.

Yu Feng frowned and glanced at the grieving Zhang Zhiming. “Is there something else?”

Zhang Zhiming: “???”

Zhang Zhiming gathered his collapsing thoughts and asked tentatively, “President Yu, didn’t you ask for me?”

Yu Feng seemed to just then remember such a thing. He waved his hand. “It’s nothing now. You can go.”

Zhang Zhiming froze. Eh? He didn’t have to be lectured?

He asked again, uncertainly, “President Yu, do you really have nothing else to say?”

Yu Feng looked at him with disdain. “What? Do you want me to scold you first and then personally escort you out?”

“No, no! President Yu, I won’t disturb you and the Boss’s Wife! I’m leaving right now!” Zhang Zhiming had an epiphany. Before leaving, he even shot Su An a look of profound gratitude.

“Pfft, Hahahaha!” The moment the office door closed, Su An could no longer suppress his laughter.

Yu Feng was thirty percent annoyed and seventy percent speechless. “I really don’t know how Zhang Zhiming climbed to this position.”

Recalling how Zhang Zhiming had stood up for him that afternoon, Su An couldn’t help but defend him. “Actually, President Zhang is a very good person.”

Yu Feng’s face darkened instantly. “What did you say?”

“I said President Zhang is actually…” Su An took out the lunch box. He didn’t see Yu Feng’s face sinking, but he felt a hint of danger permeating the air.

“…actually… just so-so.” Su An pivoted sharply. “You haven’t eaten yet, have you? Come and eat.”

Seeing Yu Feng standing still, Su An took his hand and led him to the table, even giving him a light kiss on the cheek, coaxing him like a child. “You’re the best, alright? Are you really even jealous of this?”

Yu Feng glanced at him and gave an ambiguous “Mm.”

Su An: So easy to coax.

To his surprise, in the next second, Su An was pulled onto his lap. Just as Su An turned his head to look at him, a dense flurry of kisses fell upon him. Su An’s mind went blank for a moment, and then he submissively closed his eyes.

Just as Su An was being kissed into a daze, Yu Feng’s low, husky voice whispered in his ear, “Coax me some more.”

As the kisses fell again, Su An thought: I’m never saying this “dog man” is easy to coax again. It’s too hard on my mouth.

By the time Yu Feng officially began eating, it was nearly nine o’clock. Su An, wiping his slightly swollen lips, shot Yu Feng an annoyed look. “Hurry up and eat!”

Yu Feng had a smile on his face. He wasn’t bothered by the lukewarm food; instead, he looked completely satisfied.

Su An: “…” You enjoyed that way too much.

Sitting in the car on the way home, Yu Feng looked at the lights outside the window. “Babe, I’m very happy.”

The word “Babe” caught Su An off guard, and his ears instantly turned pink.

“You…”

“It’s the first time I’ve been this happy,” Yu Feng expressed his feelings without any concealment.

Su An was stunned. He lowered his head and said softly, “You’ll always be happy from now on, Yu Feng.”

It seemed that from the moment they met and he was taken home, to the rising temperature of their relationship, Su An had never truly understood the man in front of him.

It wasn’t until Yu Feng bared his heart for the first time, expressing that he could be happy simply because of someone’s care, that Su An realized the villain of the book was perhaps just a poor, love-starved soul like himself.

You’ll always be happy, Yu Feng.

This time, no matter who it is, I will not let you walk toward the ending written in the book.
