When the four groups stood together again and the stagehand announced the results, Sun Yu’s expression turned even uglier.
Wang Jiajia, though disappointed that they had dropped from second place to last, managed to keep her composure.
The variety show “Extreme Challenge” had no script. At most, the director and writers would tweak a few details along the way to bring out more highlights.
None of the guests they invited were A-listers. The most talked-about was still Yu Jiaojiao, the artist who was famous for being infamous. Wen Qiang had only recently entered the industry, and with no films or dramas of hers yet aired, she was currently in a lukewarm state.
The director had initially thought that only Yu Jiaojiao would be difficult to handle on the entire production team. Now, he was beginning to realize that some people were just good at putting on a front.
After announcing that the recording of this episode had concluded and that the second episode would be filmed the day after tomorrow, the director cast a meaningful glance at Sun Yu’s face.
The crew began packing up the erected tents and equipment.
The guest artists were now free to move around as they pleased. However, there was still a production team dinner planned for the evening, and they needed to gather back at the square by five o’clock.
Most of the guests’ assistants had already gathered around, tidying up their makeup.
Yu Jiaojiao’s cosmetics were all top-tier custom-made, and she had a great base to begin with. After half a day, she still looked as fresh as at the start, needing only a symbolic dusting of powder.
Sensing that Yu Jiaojiao had gotten along well with Wen Qiang, Sister Wang was especially warm and friendly toward Wen Qiang’s young assistant.
Wen Qiang and Yu Jiaojiao naturally sat down together.
Before long, the director sent an assistant over to invite Sister Wang for a private chat.
The other guests, watching this unfold, began to exchange curious glances.
As the “social lubricant” placed among the guests by the production team, Wang Jiajia was the most mindful of maintaining group harmony. She started steering the conversation in various directions, livening up the atmosphere.
Topics among the female celebrities mostly revolved around industry gossip. Yu Jiaojiao barely recognized half the names being mentioned, so naturally, she wasn’t particularly interested.
Seeing that she wasn’t joining in and was starting to look bored, 101 seized the opportunity to bring out the gossip manhua.
“Host, host, congratulations on getting first place in the variety show! The third chapter of the gossip manhua has been unlocked!!”
Without waiting for her reply, the shared gossip manhua appeared in her mind.
【How was the C-actor able to cheat behind his wealthy heiress wife’s back? It turns out he had secretly planted an inside mole beside her.
That mole was a female personal assistant named Yang, a die-hard fan of the C-actor. Deep down, she was fiercely jealous that her own boss had married him.
Despite his poor character and wild ways, the C-actor was undeniably talented. He quickly picked up on Assistant Yang’s little crush. After a moment’s thought, he came up with a clever idea. One day, when the heiress was away, he seduced the assistant, making her submit to him and even getting her to agree to report the heiress’s every move to him.
Using the assistant’s tips, he managed to have his flings “smoothly” without ever getting caught.
Today, the heiress had flown off to ski in Switzerland. The C-actor’s itch returned, and he planned to rendezvous once again with the actress that evening…】
Because Yu Jiaojiao had been filming the variety show, the Gossip Manhua livestream had been silent, and all the viewers had logged off.
The moment the system mentioned the third chapter of the Gossip Manhua, the livestream popped up again on many people’s screens.
This time, even more people clicked in.
After reading the third chapter, the barrage of comments instantly erupted.
【Wow, wow, wow!! My earlier guess was right—it really is someone close to the heiress!!】
【Gotta give props to this manhua for its update speed! And it’s looking more and more convincing. Could it actually be drawn by some paparazzo who discovered the truth?】
【So Chen Yizun really is having an affair with Sun Yu? And he’s planning to hook up with her again?】
[【I just came back from the Weibo of Chen Yizun’s wife, Xu Jiayi. She really is already in Switzerland!! I’m completely stunned!! But for some reason, when I try to leave her a comment or send her a private message about Chen Yizun’s cheating, it won’t go through…】
【I tried it too. It really won’t go through.】
【Does anyone know Chen Yizun’s wife in real life? Someone needs to get a message to her! What if it’s true?! The cheating scumbag and the other woman deserve to be exposed and torn apart!】
【Cheating and playing both sides is absolutely unforgivable!】
【Am I the only one who thinks that female assistant is even more disgusting? Taking her boss’s money, sleeping with her boss’s husband, and even helping him cover up his affairs… Xiao Sa needing oxygen.gif】
【If this is true… my fists are clenched.】
Yu Jiaojiao finished reading the manhua as well. Her expression didn’t change much, but her ears happened to catch the female guests discussing a movie that Wei Luting and Sun Yu had just finished filming.
“Lu Ting, how was it working with Best Actor Chen this time? Is his acting really as godlike as they say?”
“Brother Chen’s acting is truly incredible, and he’s a really nice person too. He gave me a lot of guidance…” Wei Luting spoke with clear admiration for him.
Yu Jiaojiao silently swept her gaze past Wei Luting’s face and stopped on Sun Yu’s.
With everyone else’s attention focused on Wei Luting, Sun Yu lurked off to the side, watching the center of attention with a hint of mockery and condescension.
Yu Jiaojiao pressed her lips together and asked in her mind, “Does Sun Yu know that this C-actor has a wife, yet she still…?”
“Exactly!” The system had also noticed the look on Sun Yu’s face. “Right now, she’s probably thinking that the man Wei Luting can only secretly admire is actually hooking up with her behind the scenes.”
“Tsk. And she thinks Chen Yizun actually likes her. It’s only because she’s relatively plain-looking in an entertainment industry full of beauties that she doesn’t arouse suspicion.”
“Oh! Chen Yizun just texted her!” The system got excited.
Sure enough, Yu Jiaojiao saw Sun Yu’s phone buzz.
Sun Yu opened it, glanced at the screen, and a flash of delight crossed her eyes. Then she discreetly looked around.
Yu Jiaojiao averted her gaze and pretended to look somewhere else.
When she glanced back two seconds later, Sun Yu was already holding her phone against her chest, typing away.
“Damn! This mistress really is no good. She’s actually snitching to Chen Yizun, saying you’re being impossibly difficult during filming and that the production team is deliberately targeting her just to hype you up!”
“So disgusting! She’s just bitter about her own bad luck and jealous of you, yet she’s making you take the fall!”
“And Chen Yizun actually believed her! He said he’d have someone talk to the production team and try to get you kicked off the show if possible!!”
“Aaaah!! What a scumbag and his mistress! How dare they scheme against our supporting female lead! Host, go show them who’s boss!”
Yu Jiaojiao paused for two seconds, then dropped a bombshell: “Chen Yizun is the C-actor?”
The system: “???” So after all that time, it own host still hadn’t figured out who the C-actor was?!
