Adrian woke up shirtless in his room with a slight hangover.

The clock read 7 am.

Fuck.” Adrian cursed in his mind.

He sat up and scratched his head.

Last night was a blur in his mind.

All he remembered was fighting with someone in the bar and doing some damage in the bar.

Thank god it was Sophia’s bar.

If it was someone else’s, he would have to spend some money to buy another bar for some scruff.

“Though, buying it wouldn’t be so bad if it’s for her,” Adrian reasoned with himself.

“How dare that asshole even think of looking at my future wife in those disgusting eyes.”

Adrian felt the rage boiling up again.

He could feel his destructive mode rising up.

“Breathe, you’re at Dad’s mansion.

We can’t cause a scene here.

Mom gets scared easily, and Dad will kill me for scaring her.” Adrian calmed himself.

He reached for his glasses and his phone, which were kept beside him on the bedside table.

42 messages.

Some were from Daniel.

Some from Ethan.

And some were from Sophia.

He unlocked his phone and got out of his bed, heading for the washroom to brush and freshen up.

He read the messages while brushing his teeth.

Daniel’s messages were all about handling the payment and ensuring nothing gets leaked to the press.

Ethan’s messages were all about making the other person vanish from this universe.

He chuckled at the idea.

“Not bad of an idea.

Next time if I see him in that bar, looking even a single moment at her, I’ll actually do that to him,” Adrian considered.

Adrian wore a black shirt and changed his pants to black trousers.

He walked downstairs in the spiral staircase to go to the dining area.

Adrain took a chair and sat on a table which already had the rest of the members of the house seated.

They were having breakfast and minding their own business till they saw Adrian.

“Looks like the Prince Charming has finally woken up.” Simon, his younger brother, said.

“Mind your own fucking business.” Adrian said, without looking up from his phone.

“What happened last night, child, that you have so many wounds in your knuckles?” Lily, his mother said.

“Nothing.

Somebody insulted my future wife,” Adrian said nonchalantly.

Lily made eye contact with her husband, Issac.

“Are you seeing what I am seeing?” She signalled him.

“I saw.

I don’t know whether to be happy or get angry about it.” Issac signalled back.

“Does that mean he is seriously considering the marriage?

Are we going to have a daughter-in-law?” Lily asked through her eyes.

“Don’t jump the gun yet.

Maybe he’s just joking.” Issac signalled with disappointment.

Simon read the silent conversation and pointed blankly, asked Adrian.

“Are you really considering the marriage between that Juliette woman?” Simon asked.

“Juliette, who?” Adrian asked.

His mind was in his phone.

Sophia had sent a picture of his future wife having a cup of coffee cutely.

Adrian unconsciously smiled at the picture and saved it in his gallery.

“Juliette Ravenwood,” Simon said.

“She is no Ravenwood.” Adrian kept the phone face down on the table.

“Who knows?

Maybe you’ll get some call or message from the Ravenwood about their eldest son’s hidden daughter, who lived in the countryside due to her weak constitution, or whatever bullshit.” Adrian chuckled and ate his breakfast quietly.

The remaining three members just looked at each other after Adrian spoke.

“What kind of situation is this?” Simon asked.

“Birth swap or hospital clerical error.

Something like that,” Adrian replied.

“Why do you think this will happen?” Lily asked carefully.

“I don’t know.

Probably that precious fake daughter of Kevin’s is scared of marring me because of the rumours I have in the society,” Adrian said.

“So you think they’ll believe the fake rumours and get someone else to marry you in her stead?” Issac asked.

“Oh no.

The marriage actually belongs to the woman I am about to marry.

They probably found her existence yesterday,” Adrian said mysteriously.

“I can’t understand a single thing.

Should I talk to father-in-law and cancel the marriage?” Lily asked, rubbing her temples.

“If you do that, I swear to god, I’ll kill myself.

Then good luck finding a person fit to rule the underworld businesses,” Adrian threatened.

“Just stay as an audience and wait for the confirmation about the bride.” Adrian said as he took the coffee cup and his phone and left the dining table.

“Honey, what do we do?

Is he really going to kill himself?” Lily asked.

“Honestly, if whatever he just said happens, I’ll be incredibly happy.

I never really liked the Juliette girl.” Issac said, holding Lily’s hand to comfort her.

“Me too.

She gives me second-hand embarrassment when she speaks in that cutesy voice.

Like she is some child,” Simon said and took a sip of his black coffee.

“I agree on that.

She is a bit too immature and child-like to enter this household.

I had only agreed to the marriage proposal because father-in-law had promised the Ravenwoods a long time ago, and finding a woman for Adrian was getting incredibly hard.” Lily said, reflecting on her decisions.

“Let’s just wait for anything like that to come up from the Ravenwoods.

If it does come up, we’ll just ask Adrian if the new person is the one he considers as his future wife.

If it is, then at least we’ll know that Adrian married out of love.” Isaac soothed his wife.
