“God King…”
The young Uranus murmured those words to himself, his previously calm heart now burning with excitement.
But a moment later, confusion crossed his face.
“How can I become the King of the Gods?”
“My dear Uranus,” Gaia said gently, “you are already the bravest god in this world.
Whether you become the King of the Gods or not, that will never change.”
At that moment, the Earth Mother’s gentle radiance reached its peak, embracing all things with boundless tenderness.
Deeply moved by her kindness, Uranus lowered his head, as though the entire sky had bowed alongside him.
As heaven and earth drew together once more, the world returned briefly to Chaos.
Within the dim expanse, another figure quietly arrived before Theron.
She was dressed in flowing black robes.
Beneath the hood, her face was concealed by endless darkness, making her features impossible to discern.
Only the graceful outline of her tall, voluptuous figure could be seen beneath the dark garments.
Theron immediately recognized her.
One of the Primordial Gods.
The Goddess of Night, Nyx.
She and Erebus, the God of Darkness, had been born together as twins.
Erebus embodied absolute darkness, while Nyx represented the flowing veil of night itself.
As Erebus descended into eternal silence, stars began to shimmer wherever the hem of Nyx’s robe passed.
The birth of the divine twins gave Chaos the concept of time.
The alternation of darkness and light quietly took shape within their breaths, while the brilliant flashes created when their powers intertwined carved the first crack across the void—a rift that would one day become the Milky Way.
“Another unimaginably powerful Primordial God…”
Theron sighed inwardly as he sensed Nyx’s overwhelming aura, becoming even more aware of how weak he truly was.
If the divine power of a Primordial God were considered a perfect ten…
His current strength was not even a one.
He was weaker than many of the younger gods born from the Primordials.
Like Gaia, Nyx had sensed Theron’s existence during her own birth.
Unlike Gaia, however, most of the Primordial Gods were abstract beings with little individuality or emotion.
They simply had no interest in him.
That was why Nyx’s arrival puzzled him.
After a brief silence, Theron projected his thoughts.
“Lady Nyx…
what brings you here?”
Nyx looked toward the invisible consciousness before her and replied in a calm, ethereal voice devoid of emotion.
“I have a child…
but I cannot give birth.”
Theron’s expression stiffened.
He had expected many reasons.
That was not one of them.
If you can’t give birth…
why come to me?
I don’t know anything about childbirth.
I don’t even have a body.
According to his memories, Nyx would eventually bear many children.
Some would be born with Erebus.
Others she would conceive on her own.
Every child represented a fundamental law of the world, and with each new law, the world itself would become more complete.
Among the most well-known was Hemera, the Goddess of Day.
Each day she would disperse her mother’s darkness, creating the eternal cycle of day and night.
Strictly speaking, Nyx was less a mother in the ordinary sense and more a vessel through which the world gave birth to the laws it required.
It was as though Heaven itself conceived through her.
But if she could no longer give birth…
Then what had gone wrong?
More importantly…
Why had she come looking for him?
As though sensing his confusion, Nyx calmly continued,
“It is because of you.”
Theron became even more bewildered.
Because of him?
What had he done?
Meeting Nyx’s emotionless gaze, he reluctantly used his meager divine power to investigate the threads of cause and effect.
The answer soon became clear.
His arrival had occupied the divine authority of Fate.
Because Fate already existed, the world no longer required another deity to embody it.
However, among Nyx’s destined children were the Three Fates.
They were:
– Clotho, who spun the thread of life.
– Lachesis, who measured the length of each mortal’s thread.
– Atropos, who severed the thread when life came to an end.
Together, the three sisters formed the complete cycle of fate.
Every living being existed within the tapestry they wove.
One might stray from the path…
But none could escape destiny itself.
Now, however, because Theron had already inherited the authority of Fate, the Three Fates had lost the divine authority that should have belonged to them.
By all logic, they should never have existed.
The problem was…
Nyx was already carrying them.
Thus arose the awkward situation of children who existed, yet could not be born.
Looking at it this way…
Nyx really had come to seek an explanation from the one responsible.
Feeling slightly embarrassed, Theron hesitated before saying,
“Lady Nyx…
I sincerely regret your predicament.”
“If the children cannot be born because they lack the necessary origin…”
“Perhaps…
I can provide it.”
Nyx simply nodded.
At this point in time, she possessed almost no personality or emotional fluctuations.
Receiving her permission, Theron cautiously drew upon a tiny portion of his already meager divine power.
The authority of Fate wrapped gently around Nyx.
The next instant—
The Laws of the world resonated.
A profound hum echoed throughout creation.
The entire world seemed to tremble.
Invisible threads of fate intertwined within the void, weaving together three dazzling figures at their center.
The three goddesses possessed graceful, mature beauty.
Their elegant forms were wrapped in light garments that accentuated their flawless feminine silhouettes.
Their faces were exquisitely beautiful, overflowing with vibrant life.
The sisters spoke together in clear, melodious voices.
“We, Clotho…”
“Lachesis…”
“And Atropos…”
“Pay our respects to Father and Mother.”
None of the three showed the slightest disrespect toward Theron despite his weak divine power.
They could clearly sense the authority of Fate emanating from him.
Nyx, meanwhile, showed neither joy nor surprise at their birth.
To her, everything simply unfolded as it should.
She turned to leave.
But suddenly, she paused.
Her gaze shifted back toward Theron’s location.
The once-empty space where his consciousness resided began to ripple.
Countless invisible threads gathered from every direction, weaving themselves together.
Slowly…
A human figure emerged.
It was a handsome young man dressed in white robes.
His features were refined and gentle.
A pair of violet eyes seemed capable of seeing through all things.
At that moment, however, those eyes were filled with astonishment.
“I’ve…
gained a physical body?”
Theron examined himself in disbelief.
The birth of the Three Fates had finally allowed him to escape his formless existence.
At the same time, he clearly felt his divine power increase once again.
“No…”
“It’s more than that.”
His gaze turned toward the distant Sea of Origin, whose divine essence was still surging.
Almost instantly, he reached a conclusion.
“The Twelve Titans are about to be born.”
At the same time, he realized something even more important.
Allowing fate to unfold naturally granted him only a small increase in divine power.
But if fate advanced because of his own intervention, the increase was far greater.
Perhaps…
A prophecy only truly became a prophecy once it was spoken aloud.
Merely knowing the future himself accomplished nothing.
He had to reveal it to other gods.
If he wanted to grow stronger as quickly as possible…
Then perhaps he would have to personally guide every destined event toward its inevitable conclusion.
