Theron saw the newborn Metis lying in a gorgeous, exquisitely crafted crib.
She was such a beautiful and adorable child, with fair, delicate skin, exquisite features, and a pair of large, round, sparkling eyes that resembled jewels.
She curiously watched the friendly deity teasing her while continuously letting out pleasant giggles.
Unlike the Twelve Titans, who were born in adult form, the Third Generation Gods were mostly born as infants and needed tens, hundreds, or even thousands of years to mature into their prime.
A deity’s appearance largely reflected the state of their divine power.
Infancy and adolescence represented a period of growth.
When a deity reached their peak, they would appear as young adults.
Once their divine essence was damaged and their strength began to decline, their appearance would gradually age.
This meant that Theron’s strength had never truly reached its peak, because he had always retained the appearance of a boy since birth.
He had already witnessed the reign of one God-King and had increased his divine power by two levels, from weak divine power to intermediate divine power, yet his appearance had not changed in the slightest.
He also had a feeling that even if he eventually reached the level of great divine power, his appearance would remain unchanged.
After all, his fate was tied to that of the world itself.
If he wanted to reach his true pinnacle, that would only be possible once the world itself truly prospered.
For now, he could only be considered to be in the initial stages of his growth, and the path ahead of him remained long and arduous.
“She’s so adorable, isn’t she?”
Tethys sat beside the crib, her face glowing with gentle maternal affection as she gazed at her daughter.
The love in her eyes was completely undisguised.
Theron nodded and praised her.
“She’s sure to become a very beloved goddess in the future.”
Tethys became even happier.
As a mother, there was nothing more joyful than hearing someone praise her child, especially when that praise came from Theron.
Just as she was about to say a few more words to him, a slightly immature voice suddenly interrupted their conversation.
“She really is beautiful, but beautiful things are always coveted.
You’d better be careful of those male gods from the land in the future.”
Tethys and Theron were both startled by the voice.
They turned around simultaneously and saw a bright-eyed boy standing behind them with a radiant smile.
“Prometheus, what are you doing here?
Where is your mother?”
Tethys was initially surprised, but she quickly smiled helplessly.
She had always quite liked her clever and quick-witted grandson. Read this novel at g.com for the best experience.
“Mother is outside.”
Prometheus glanced at Theron, obvious curiosity in his eyes.
“Grandmother, who is this revered deity?
I felt an instant connection with him just by looking at him.
I wonder if I have the honor of getting to know him?”
Tethys was taken aback for a moment before quickly realizing that Prophecy was subordinate to Fate, while Theron was suspected of being the God of Fate.
It was only natural for Prometheus, who possessed the divine authority of Prophecy, to feel an affinity toward him.
She first stole a glance at Theron.
Seeing that he wasn’t offended or displeased by Prometheus’s sudden appearance and instead seemed rather interested, she smiled and introduced him.
“He is His Highness Theron, an ancient being.
You naughty child, you must show him the utmost respect.”
Tethys did not dare speak openly about Theron’s divine authority, so she could only vaguely describe him as an ancient being.
Prometheus, however, didn’t seem to care.
The boy quickly nodded.
Since he was still young, he had the appearance of a teenager.
Theron observed him with interest and didn’t mind interacting with him.
As mentioned before, Theron had a particular fondness for beings whose destinies could influence the entire order of the world.
However, before they could exchange more than a few words, the God-King Cronus and Ocean God Oceanus approached him, humbly expressing that they had something they wished to seek his guidance on.
Theron was somewhat surprised but did not refuse.
However, just as he was about to leave with the two gods, the bold Prometheus pleaded with Tethys to let him accompany them.
Tethys found herself in a difficult position.
Oceanus was about to scold his ignorant grandson when Theron interrupted him with a smile.
“If he wants to come, let him come with us,” Theron said.
“I feel a connection with this child.”
Since Theron had already spoken, Oceanus could no longer object.
He simply had Tethys bring Prometheus along.
Cronus, the God-King, said nothing from beginning to end, as though he were merely a bystander watching the scene unfold.
Theron soon learned what they wanted his guidance about: the remains of the First Generation God-King Uranus.
At Theron’s suggestion, Oceanus had infused the remains with the yin energy of the ocean and water, completely neutralizing the yang energy and transforming the flesh into countless dreamlike bubbles.
After hundreds of years of nourishment from the Ocean Current, something seemed to be vaguely taking shape within them.
Since the matter involved the remains of the First Generation God-King Uranus, Oceanus was quite concerned.
He wanted Theron to examine them and determine whether anything dangerous might emerge and threaten the Ocean Current.
The God-King Cronus was similarly concerned, so he had accompanied Oceanus to hear Theron’s judgment.
Theron simply smiled and spoke gently.
“Great King of the Gods, Lord of the Ocean Current, do not worry.
The Sky God Uranus has been completely destroyed and will never return.”
“And his remains will not become something that harms the world.
Nourished by the power of Yin, they will eventually give birth to a beautiful goddess.”
Upon hearing that it would be a goddess, both Cronus and Oceanus relaxed.
Under the current theocratic system, female deities were not qualified to become God-Kings and generally did not pose a threat to the world’s order.
“Thank you for your answer, Your Highness Theron.”
Oceanus smiled and expressed his sincere gratitude.
“It’s nothing.
Since she is destined to be born, then this is fate.
I shall offer her my blessing.”
As Theron spoke, he looked at the dreamy bubbles floating upon the sea and sincerely blessed the goddess who was about to be born.
“You will possess the most beautiful appearance in the world, and you will become the embodiment of perfection.”
The foam upon the surface of the sea bobbed gently, as though expressing its gratitude for Theron’s generous blessing.
Theron smiled and then left with Cronus and Oceanus.
Seeing this, Tethys was about to leave with Prometheus when she heard the boy, who was around eighteen years old, speak with some confusion.
“Why did you only bless her beauty, and not her purity and chastity?”
Tethys found the question somewhat amusing and answered helplessly, “Innocence and chastity are things that all goddesses naturally possess.
They don’t need blessings for them.”
Prometheus frowned and retorted quietly, “That’s probably because none of them have the most perfect appearance.”
Tethys dismissed it as childish nonsense and paid no further attention to his words.
At that moment, she was completely unaware of the seriousness of what had just happened.
