Across from them, Adrian looked between the two of them, softening his eyes. "Look at them, Logan. Don’t they look good together? They really look like a couple. They bicker like us when you forget to reply my texts."

Vivian’s head snapped up. "What?"

Logan looked at Jeffrey and Vivian, then let out a low chuckle. "Actually... yeah. They do. There’s definitely a lot of history there."Full novel: Guide S-Class Sentinels? I'd Rather Be Eaten by Zombies! — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

"Don’t," Vivian warned immediately.

"They look like an old married couple," Adrian grinned, completely missing the whole story.

No. The naive, stupid girl who would’ve blushed to that word ’couple’ died with the zombies. And Jeffrey helped bury her.

"Not happening," Vivian said, shaking her head in denial.

Jeffrey looked at her, looking a little hurt.

But Vivian refused to care. She picked up her fork again, but she already lost appetite.

She hated him. She hated Julian. She hated every Sentinel and Guide in this room. They were all the same.... arrogant, selfish cowards who wouldn’t mind ruining their relationships.

Then, a deep, voice beside her broke the silence.

"Are you always like this?"

Everyone at the table stopped eating. Logan’s chuckle cut off, and Adrian froze. Vivian blinked, turning her head slightly.

Wyatt, who had been silent the entire time, hadn’t touched his food since Jeffrey sat down.

He was sitting still, looking irritated.

Jeffrey frowned, as he glared at Wyatt. "Like what, Wyatt?"

Wyatt slowly pushed his tray forward. He leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms over his chest.

"Always acting like a pathetic pickme, Jeffrey?" Wyatt’s deep baritone caught everyone off guard.

Logan’s mouth fell open. Adrian slowly covered his lips with his hand. Vivian just stared.

Jeffrey’s eyes widened. "Excuse me?"

Wyatt’s eyes flashed with disgust as he side-eyed Jeffrey and Vivian. "You’ve been sitting there for ten minutes trying to convince a freshman you missed her, begging for her affection. It’s pathetic."

"I do miss her," Jeffrey hissed, frowning at him. "And why exactly do you care, Wyatt?"

To Wyatt, Vivian was nothing but an attention seeking, shameless, low class flirt. He remembered her dumping her ex-boyfriend, bragging that the Sentinels picking her up were hotter and more handsome and explicitly making fun of his manhood.

He genuinely believed she had entered the academy with one goal: to hit on high-ranking, powerful men with big manhood.

And now, seeing his fellow S-class sentinel acting like a desperate simp right next to her, picking vegetables off her plate like a servant boy... it was making him irritated. He couldn’t stand Jeffrey, and he definitely couldn’t stand whatever game this red-haired girl was playing.

He didn’t understand why these men were simping for her apart from that fact that she was pretty and she had long hair.

"I don’t," Wyatt said, coldly. He turned his eyes directly onto Vivian’s face, looking at her as if he couldn’t stand her anymore. "But I didn’t come to the cafeteria to watch an S-Class Commander act like a simp for a girl who clearly chooses her partners based on the size of what’s in their pants."

Vivian’s breathing stopped.

What? What did he just say about me?

The blunt, disgusting accusation rang in Vivian’s ears. Before Jeffrey could even react, Vivian stood up so fast her chair screeched against the floor, drawing the attention of dozens of nearby tables.

Her face was pale.

Without saying a single word, Vivian reached out, grabbed her tray, lifted it up, and poured the entire plate of chicken chunks, rice, and oily brown sauce directly over Wyatt’s hair.

Thick sauce, grains of rice, slid down Wyatt’s clean silver hair onto his broad shoulders.

The entire cafeteria went silent. Hundreds of students stopped chewing, their eyes widened in shock.

Nobody had ever dared to touch Wyatt, let alone dump a plate of food on the academy’s most terrifying S-Class commander.

Logan’s jaw dropped. Adrian gasped, covering his mouth. Jeffrey just stared at her, completely stunned, wondering who Vivian was.

Wyatt sat still. The oily brown sauce dripped down his sharp jawline, completely ruining his shirt. He didn’t yell. He didn’t jump up. But the energy radiating from his body made the air in the room feel heavy.

Vivian dropped the empty tray on the table with a loud clatter. She leaned down slightly, looking right into his silver eyes.

"Watch your mouth, Commander," Vivian whispered. "I don’t care who you are. Talk about me like that again, and I’ll feed you something worse than rice."

She straightened up, turned on her heel, and walked out of the cafeteria, leaving the entire cafeteria in silence.

Arrogant, disgusting cowards, she thought. I hate all of them.

Ding!

[Host,] COMPASS’s voice suddenly echoed inside her head. [Your emotional stress and anger levels have exceeded safe parameters.]

Vivian didn’t answer her system. She just kept walking down the empty hallway, preparing for what was coming next.
