“Because the headmaster of that magic school is called Albus Dumbledore.
Don’t think I don’t know, he’s in league with Grindelwald.” “What magic school?
They’re obviously trying to lure me there so they can kill me.
I’m not falling for that.” Witt spoke with absolute conviction.
Dumbledore watched Witt’s expression twist as the boy began struggling again and sighed inwardly.
The child had probably been tortured so badly that his mind was no longer entirely sound.
“Professor McGonagall, please look after him.
There are some things I need to ask.” After Dumbledore left, Witt, who was still struggling with all his might, suddenly heard the System’s notification chime.
[Ding!
Quest failures have reached 365.
Would you like to abandon the Quest and draw a new dungeon?] [Abandoning the Quest will trigger a System penalty.
There is a chance that either Grindelwald or Dumbledore will enter the main world.] “What main world?
Dumbledore’s already come after me.
This is obviously the dungeon world!” “This bloody Quest is impossible anyway.
I give up.” Without the slightest hesitation, Witt selected [Abandon Quest].
He had thought he would be stuck on this dungeon for the rest of his life.
Grindelwald was simply too powerful.
Witt couldn’t see even the faintest possibility of winning.
He hadn’t expected the System to actually let him give up.
[Please draw a new dungeon.] A huge roulette wheel appeared before Witt.
He mentally tugged the handle, and the next second, the wheel began spinning at tremendous speed.
“White.
White.
Come on, white.” Witt muttered the words like a prayer.
Forget Gold-tier Dungeons.
Those weren’t meant for humans.
He was still a complete newbie.
He wanted to grind White-tier Dungeons.
The wheel gradually slowed before finally stopping on the enormous white section that occupied most of its surface.
━━━━━ QUEST ━━━━━ [⚪ White – Easy Quest | Help Snape Sort Flobberworms] Snape has received a new batch of Flobberworms.
Help him pick out the ones that are still alive and collect their mucus.
━━━ 🎁 Quest Reward: Basic Potion Ingredient Processing.
⚠️ Abandon Quest: Snape’s Dislike.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ “Yes!” The moment Witt read the Quest description, he became ecstatic.
Now this is the kind of Quest a newbie like me should be doing!
What the hell had that previous one been?
Defeat two emperors capable of ruling the entire wizarding world?
And how exactly was he supposed to do that?
Lumos?
Wingardium Leviosa?
Even after learning the Killing Curse, he still couldn’t bloody hit Grindelwald with it.
McGonagall watched as Witt alternated between excitement, idiotic grinning, and staring blankly into space.
Originally, she had felt little fondness for a young wizard who casually threw around Unforgivable Curses.
But after learning Witt’s story and now seeing him muttering and smiling to himself like this, all she could feel was pity.
Grindelwald was monstrous.
He had tortured a child with the Cruciatus Curse.
The man was completely insane.
Poor boy.
He had suffered so much.
One second, McGonagall was still pitying Witt.
The next, he vanished before her eyes.
“Specialis Revelio.” Pale light spread from the tip of her wand, swiftly washing over the entire room.
Nothing.
There was nothing at all.
McGonagall searched the room from top to bottom and tried every tracking spell she knew, but she could find no trace whatsoever of Witt.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Inside the dungeon, Witt hadn’t even had time to work out what was happening when a bucket landed in front of him.
It was crammed full of densely packed, slimy, foul-smelling Flobberworms.
“Separate the living ones.
Put the mucus you collect into glass phials.” Snape didn’t even bother looking at Witt as he spoke in an icy voice.
“Professor, do you have any gloves?” Witt glanced around but couldn’t see any.
The bucket was crawling with disgusting worms.
Asking him to grab handfuls of them barehanded was simply too much.
“No.” Snape’s answer was already edged with impatience.
Witt wrestled with himself for a moment.
Then he decisively drew his wand.
“Avada Kedavra!” A jet of green magic tore through the air straight towards Snape.
He wouldn’t even give him gloves.
The bastard was obviously doing this just to make his life difficult.
Snape clearly hadn’t expected a young wizard to have the audacity to fire an Unforgivable Curse at him.
By the time he reacted, it was already too late to dodge.
“Sectumsempra!” The two spells crossed in mid-air.
A moment later, both of them hit the floor, one after the other.
The next second, Witt was forcibly ejected from the dungeon.
[Quest anomaly detected.
Calculating results…] [Quest Rating: A.] [🎁 Reward Upgraded: Beginner Potions Knowledge.] In an instant, an enormous flood of information poured into Witt’s mind, how to distinguish one potion ingredient from another, how to process them, and how to brew a number of beginner-level potions.
It felt as though he had spent countless hours painstakingly studying all of it himself.
A countdown appeared on the System interface.
Twelve hours remained until he could draw his next Quest.
Doing a rough calculation, that meant it would refresh at around six in the morning.
The previous dungeon had reset at the same time.
Witt was so absorbed in studying the System interface that he completely failed to notice McGonagall staring at him in astonishment.
“Mr Cress.” “Yes?” “Where did you just go?” “I mutually assured destructioned myself with this greasy haired, miserable looking bastard who apparently doesn’t believe in washing his hair.” Witt’s tone was utterly calm, as though he were describing a trip to get a glass of water.
McGonagall’s expression became stern.
“Mr Cress, this is not a joke.” “I’m not joking.” Witt looked at her seriously.
“That bastard told me to sort through a bucket of absolutely disgusting worms and wouldn’t even give me gloves.” “So I pulled out my wand and hit the bastard with an Avada Kedavra.
He hit me back with some spell too.
No idea what it was called, but it felt like my entire body got sliced open.” “Biologically speaking, I’m pretty sure I died.” Witt spoke with complete confidence, his expression practically screaming, Everything I’m saying is true.
You have to believe me.
McGonagall pressed her lips together, at a complete loss for words.
There was definitely something wrong with this child’s mind.
As for his inexplicable disappearance just now, she decided she would wait until Dumbledore returned and tell him about it.
What McGonagall could never have imagined was that something had gone wrong on Dumbledore’s end as well.
He probably wouldn’t be coming back tonight.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ While Dumbledore was travelling through space using a Portkey, a rift suddenly opened directly in front of him.
Someone was hurled out of it.
The two of them collided and went tumbling together into a mountain forest.
When Dumbledore regained consciousness, he found a familiar figure gazing down at him with surprising tenderness.
“Albus.
You’re awake.” “Grindelwald.” Dumbledore rose to his feet, anger burning in his voice.
“You should not be here.” “All right, all right.
You’re right.” Grindelwald spoke helplessly.
“I admit I shouldn’t have kept what happened with that boy from you, but haven’t I already apologised?” “Why get so angry over something so minor?” “Minor?” Dumbledore’s gaze immediately turned dangerous.
“You call using the Cruciatus Curse on a child minor?” “Yes, yes, I shouldn’t have done it.” “I was wrong.
I admit it.
Happy now?” Grindelwald raised both hands in surrender.
“But never mind that for now.
Come back with me.
What’s so wonderful about Hogwarts, anyway?
Don’t you get tired of spending every single day there?” Grindelwald reached out, only for Dumbledore to slap his hand away.
Dumbledore immediately retreated several steps, his guard raised.
“Grindelwald, what nonsense are you talking about?” “I’m talking nonsense?
You’re the one talking nonsense.” Grindelwald strode forward and raised his voice.
“Come back with me!” “The Elder Wand?” Only then did Dumbledore notice what Grindelwald was holding.
The Elder Wand.
At almost the same moment, Grindelwald realised something was wrong as well.
The Dumbledore standing opposite him was holding the Elder Wand too.
“Who are you?
You’re not Dumbledore.” “Who are you?
You’re not Grindelwald.” Their voices rang out almost simultaneously.
So did their spells.
Red and blue flames slammed violently into one another.
For a brief moment, the two forces remained locked in a stalemate.
Then the blue flames gradually began pushing the red back.
After conquering the world, Grindelwald had clearly advanced much further in both magical research and raw power.
He was considerably stronger than Dumbledore.
