“Alright, I see that you are in a hurry, so let’s start immediately.” Stated Ollivanders who cowed under the glare of the cat professor.

“Are you right or left-handed?” He started as Lux immediately showed his right hand.

“Alright, a couple of measurements and we should be good to go.” He said with a serious look, his measurement tape flying off on its own and various measurements were sent back to Ollivanders who nodded his head with a couple of hums before disappearing amongst the shelves.Full novel: Harry Potter – Runic Lexicon — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Shooting a questioning look at the older teacher, she merely shook her shoulders.

It was a process that every new wizard had to go through even if they never fully understood the reason for it.

Before long, he came back with a small wand box.

“Try this one.

11 inches and 3/4, red oak wood and unicorn hair core.

The combination of this wood and core makes this one an extremely positive wand that focuses on light magic.” Explained the shop owner as Lux took the wand and waved it a little causing the wooden floor to splinter in a small explosion.

“Hum, no.” Said the wand maker as he quickly took back the wand.

After a few more tries the wand maker suddenly stopped and thought for a moment, talking to himself.

“The wood can be considered chosen as yew.

The length is 13 inches and flexible which shows a great deal of kindness but knowing when to kill and destroy.

As for the wand core, it should be a phoenix feather.” He muttered, as he stroked his chin deep in thought.

Normally a phoenix feather representing rebirth and life didn’t mix well with yew signifying death.

Yet, it seemed that such a special wizard was in front of him today.

Heading back to the backstore, he came back with a wand box, one which he had to blow in order to get rid of all the dust collected on top of the box which had most likely not moved for decades if one took the amount of dust into consideration.

“Here, try this, it should work this time.” He said with a gleam in his eyes as the young boy happily picked up the wand, already feeling good about this wand simply by the comment of the wand maker.

Feeling an electric buzz go through his entire body the young boy immediately knew that this was the wand for him and his feelings were confirmed when the wand maker nodded his head.

“It seems you have found your wand.” He said with a smile before shaking his head, already disinterested in continuing the conversation.

“7 galleons for the wand, do you need anything else?” He asked.

“I’ll also take a wand care kit and a wand holster.” Immediately said Lux who prefered to have a safe place to store his wand and the necessary items to take care of it.

After all, this wand would most likely, unless under extraordinary circumstances, follow him for the rest of his life.

“Sure, a total of 25 galleons.” He said as he handed over the bought items and the wand which he immediately properly wore on his right forearm.

“Alright, let’s go.” Said the professor as she said her goodbyes to the shop owner who became the first true magical encounter for the new wizards.

“Where to next?” Asked Lux as he happily brushed his hands over his new wand.

“We’ll go to Wiseacre’s Wizarding Equipment shop.

There, you will be able to buy most if not all of the required equipment for your year in Hogwarts.” She explained as he nodded his head, following her brisk pace with his own, knowing he had already taken too much of her time.

~Ding~

“As they pushed open the door, a bell rang, notifying the owner that some people had entered her store.

“Hello, what can I do for you?” She asked calmly despite obviously recognizing professor McGonagall.

“We need to buy all the equipment a new wizard might need.” Said the professor as the proprietress nodded her head, heading back in the shop, bringing out two large packages and a small one.

“Those are packages for first year Hogwarts students.

There is everything you need in them.” She started.

“There is the basic package for 25 Galleons.

The intermediate package is 50 Galleons.

You will find everything in the best quality and extra vials for your potions practice.

Finally, we have the deluxe package.

Starting at 400 Galleons up to an indefinite amount, it holds all of the equipment you will need for your seven years in Hogwarts with plenty of vials.

The equipment will allow you to go through Hogwarts without buying any new equipment in the future.

Additionally, there is an extended suitcase to store everything without having the need to go around with multiple suitcases.” She explained as Lux was immediately drawn to the deluxe package.

“I’ll take the deluxe package.” He decided without caring, he still had plenty of materials in his cave and could simply exchange more if he had no money remaining.

It was the first time he could truly splurge and he enjoyed every moment of it.

“Alright, here is a list of suitcases colors, size and enchantments we offer along with their prices, please choose.” Said the proprietress with a smile on her face.

“I’ll take it black.” Simply decided Lux as it was the least prone of getting dirty.

“Alright, what about the size?” She asked.

Seeing the long list of enchantments and the number of rooms he could have, he was immediately attracted to the special offer of 5 rooms which was only a hundred more galleons than the four room option.

‘Let’s take five rooms.’ He decided as this alone wasn’t even worth as much as a single vial of willingly given unicorn blood.

‘As for the enchantments, they all sound useful but I don’t understand them.’ Looking at the list, trying to understand each of their uses, he couldn’t understand the security and portus.

However, he was more than willing to add them.

After all, at this price, it was obvious that they were extremely useful.

“I’ll take the five rooms and all of the enchantments.” Said Lux as Professor McGonagall simply lifted an eyebrow.

It wasn’t her place to tell him what to do with his money.

However, the enchantments were more than worth their price as it was included in the package for new students and as such were already at a discount so he wouldn’t be losing money on this.

“Alright!” Exclaimed the proprietress of the shop.

“For your portkey, where do you want it linked?” She asked while taking out a pen and a pencil.

Seeing his questioning look, she explained.

“A portkey allows one to link a location to an item and by saying the right words, it will bring you to the linked location.”

“I see.

In that case, on the coast south-west of the village of Dale in Pembrokeshire county and one in Diagon Alley.” He requested as a troubled look appeared on her face.

“A portus enchantment can only accept one location, we would need to make some adjustments and add an extra enchantment so it will cost you another 400 Galleons.” She explained as Lux nodded his head, uncaring as he was about to receive his first magical item outside of his wand which required his own magic to operate.

“Sure, how much will it cost?” He asked as she calculated rapidly.

“The total is 2600 Galleons but we can reduce it to 2500 Galleons and double the equipment in your deluxe package while also storing all the potion materials required for your first year.” She said, an excited smile on her face as it was the first time she saw someone order such an exquisite suitcase.

After all, nobles never came to their small establishment, going instead to shops that ‘fitted their status’.

“Due to the high amount of enchantments to add to the suitcase, it will take some time to prepare.

Is there any details that you wish to add to your suitcase and if so, which one?

Additionally, is it fine if we owl mail you your filled suitcase once it is completed?” She asked with some embarrassment as despite selling it she didn’t have such a luxurious suitcase prepared.

“Sure you can send it to me via owl.

As for the motifs, can you add the crest of house Arden and StagHart?” He asked.

After all, as the new lord of both houses, it was his duty to represent it, or at least that’s what he believes he understood from Arkor.

“Arden and StagHart you say?

Alright, we’ll have our best designers prepare your suitcase for you.

Once you receive it, if it is not to your wishes, feel free to send it back and we will modify it.” She completed, finishing writing the notes as she received the extremely large payment of 2500 Galleons.

“Have a good day.” She rapidly said, still filled with excitement as she saw both the professor and student leaving the shop.

“Well with this at least we don’t have to bother about visiting the other shops.” Muttered McGonagall as she saw a child of only eleven years old not only make but also spend more than the salary she makes in an entire year.

After all, willingly given unicorn blood was just that rare.

“Alright, all that remains is the books and your robes.” She said as she glanced through the list more as a habit than anything else as she saw the same list every year for the past few decades.
