Spending almost an entire hour in the Robes for all occasions shop, he left with seven proper robes amongst which five were for school and two were made under McGonagall’s hint.
The two made under her hint were both wearing the house crests of Arden and StagHart on their left chest while looking gorgeous.
While becoming a Lord was a relatively positive thing, something that many wished and dreamed of but never had the chance, becoming one at his young age was another matter entirely.
After all, the moment he took the lordship of both houses, he gained their benefits such as their vaults and the house names to vote in the Wizengamot.
Yet, he also had to dabble in politics willingly or not and people would directly judge him.
However, his young age already made him a prime target for manipulation so he had to put effort in everything he could to even the playing field.
Finally, they arrived in the shop Lux was the most excited about visiting.
Flourish and Blotts.
This specific shop sold most of the magic books in circulation in England, the only limits being books about Dark Magic, Mind Arts and rarer types of magic that they simply didn’t have access to.
“You have half an hour to shop for the books you want and we’ll have to leave, my next appointment is in forty-five minutes and I still need to drop you off.” Said McGonagall as she looked at the young boy with a bit of fondness.
For children who always listened to the adult, took their recommendations and weren’t naughty, they would always be the prefered student of a teacher.
“Thank you.” He smiled as he immediately rushed into the store.
‘Fantastic Beasts and where to find them.
I’ll take it.’
‘Detailed History of Magic.
A book more detailed than the one used in class, I’ll take it as well.’
‘Noble Houses and their history.
This one also.’
‘The Wizengamot, everything there is to know.
I remember hearing this word from McGonagall, I’ll need it as well.’
‘Customs of the wizarding world.
Yeah, that will be useful.’
Seeing a book and being immediately attracted to it, he immediately pulled it out of the shelves, holding it in his arms as he headed to the next shelf, looking for any book that might interest him.
With a growing pile of books in his hand, the professor couldn’t help but pull out her wand as she made the pile levitate allowing the young boy to simply pile upon the already tall tower of books.
Searching for any books that interested him, time seemed to pass too fast yet as he saw that he had already spent twenty-five minutes out of the half hour allocated, he immediately moved to the counter, paying everything including an owl delivery before finally getting out of the store a few seconds early.
With a smile on her face as she hadn’t expected the young boy to be so disciplined, almost expecting to have to drag him out of the store, she took his hand and a few moments later, they were whisked away, reappearing in his damp but his own cave. Read this novel at g.com for the best experience.
“Alright Mr.Arden.
With this, we have completed the introduction to the magical world.
If you have any questions, feel free to send me mail via the owl post of Diagon Alley.
Otherwise, we will see each other on the first of September at Hogwarts.” She started as Lux listened to her words attentively.
“Here is your train ticket for King’s Cross Station.
To reach the 9 3/4 platform, you must walk through the pillar just before the tenth platform.
If you cannot find it, simply head to the 9th platform and there will be a few wizards to point you the way.” She explained as he nodded his head, remembering all of her words, not wanting to miss his transportation to Hogwarts.
“Thank you for today professor McGonagall.” He said sincerely as she merely showed a gentle smile before once again apparating away, heading straight to her next appointment with the Grangers.
With her disappearance, Lux immediately went back to the cave hidden behind the wards.
While he had few things to do until he received both his packages, he could still train his various skills.
His first thought, as always, went back to the skill the previous owner of the cave seemed to mention was the most important.
In addition to now being a Lord, he had plenty of needs for good mental defences.
As such, despite being interested in practicing real magic now that he had his wand, he turned to his occlumency practice.
Anyway, he still didn’t have his textbooks and as such he wouldn’t be able to practice much himself.
The rest of the first day went by without a hitch as he concentrated on his mind defence practice.
He could easily enter his mind and view his current defenses.
However, more than defenses, he had begun to slowly organize his memories that were otherwise simply floating about in his mind.
Not only would organizing his memories help protect them by hiding them behind the defenses but it also allowed him to review specific memories which weren’t as clear after these years.
The second day was all but eventful until an owl braved the tempest bringing along with it the many dozens of books he had bought and had them mail him.
Yet, even after receiving the books, he didn’t immediately dive into them, continuing his practice.
On the evening of the third day, he received a letter from Arkor, inviting him to Gringotts to continue their talk about his lordship and to evaluate his current holdings together.
With the letter came a one-way one-time-use portkey that could lead him straight to the entrance of Gringotts.
With a positive reply that he would come three days later, as requested in the letter, he continued his training.
The fourth day went by unnoticeably, his package still hadn’t arrived and he was getting antsy about receiving it and exploring this certainly magical piece of equipment. Visit g.com for the full chapter.
Finally, on the fifth day, late in the evening, an owl appeared near his cave along with a small package attached to its leg.
‘This should be it.’ He thought excitedly as he received the letter along with the package as the owl immediately flew off.
It was worth noting that the storm had stopped during the third day, taking much more time than he had anticipated.
Placing the package on the ground, he finally opened the letter.
~Dear Lord Arden and StagHart,
We are pleased to inform you that the suitcase you ordered from us has been completed and delivered.
As previously discussed, all equipment needed for your time at Hogwarts has been stored in the first room along with all materials you may need.
To open the suitcase, please say the temporary code: Arden.
Following the opening of the suitcase, if you wish to change the password, repeat the words: Arden, Arden, Arden, followed by your new code.
As for the two portkeys, they have been set for Dale and the Leaky Cauldron since one is not allowed to port directly into the magical street.
When holding the suitcase, please rename the codes according to your will by saying: Rename Dale into (your new password) and Rename Leaky Cauldron into (your new password).
With this, we hope you are most satisfied with your new suitcase.
If you have any problems or preferences, feel free to come back, we will do our utmost to satisfy you.
Wiseacre’s Wizarding Equipment shop.~
Studying the letter, he immediately changed the codes.
“Arden, Arden, Arden, Rune.” He said, decisively changing the current code to ‘Rune’, the only word that came to mind.
“Rename Dale into Circe’s home.” He decided as the previous owner of the cave and previous lord of house StagHart was named Circe.
“Rename Leaky Cauldron into Magical Street 1,2,3.” He finally completed as he prefered not leaving only ‘Magical Street’ as he felt that he would somehow make a mistake and directly teleport to the Leaky Cauldron without intending to.
Done with the changes, his expression brightened as he could now explore his extremely expensive magical equipment.
“Rune.” He called while the suitcase, having been in a miniaturized state, floated down to the ground and immediately grew bigger, opening to allow him to enter its depths.
Tentatively placing a foot in the suitcase, he found wooden stairs which he happily went down from as he arrived in the small but cozy entrance of the living room.
Looking around and seeing plenty of materials placed on the side of the room, his newly gotten equipment stored safely on the ground.
‘It seems that I will have to furnish the interior of the suitcase.’ He thought as he looked at the five empty rooms except for his given items.
Spending another hour simply visiting the five empty rooms, he finally turned back to one of his books, a book he had to read to at least understand a bit about his title of nobility before the meeting with Arkor.
He at least wanted to understand the current situation and be prepared for as much as possible.
Same as always, just drop em’ you won’t use them anyway
