Sitting in the huge but currently empty library, a book was opened in front of him as he seriously read the magical grimoire explaining the levitation charm.
Yet, his mind was constantly getting drawn back to the seemingly hidden parts of the castle.
Before even entering Hogwarts he had decided to explore the castle completely.
However, he hadn’t expected such a location, proving that his exploration wouldn’t be as easy as he had anticipated.
Shaking his head, bringing his attention back to the grimoire in front of his eyes, he focused.
He was only a few hundred experience of mastery away from mastering his levitation charm and with the book pointing him in the right direction, he was certain that he would be able to reduce the time to only a few days before he mastered it completely.
He had long noticed that as he read books related to the subjects he trained in, his gained experience while training at the very least doubled depending on the learned information.
Thankfully, the Hogwarts library easily had more than ten thousand grimoires all around, granting him all the knowledge he required to properly learn magical knowledge for the next seven years.
~The levitation charm is a gravity-type spell.
Its explicit use is to levitate items.
It is worth noting that the heavier the item to levitate, the more magical energy is required and the harder it is to control.
Once the spellcaster casts the spell on the item, the chosen item will immediately lift a single millimeter, forcing the caster to invest more energy and control in the spell to increase the height of the levitated item.~
As he read from the magical book and learned more details about the spell, the day gradually went by as a few students passed by from time to time, not more than he could count on both hands since it was the first day back from the summer holidays and no one wanted to immediately restart studying.
However, he ultimately got up as he saw the librarian slowly closing the library, sending the few students, mostly those who were doing their last-minute homeworks, out of the library and back to their dorms.
Borrowing the book he was currently reading, he went straight back to the Ravenclaw tower.
The castle held many secrets and as long as he didn’t learn them, he would never assume that everything was completely safe.
The dungeons that morning had never truly left his mind as he wondered what was hidden down there and why he had felt as if someone was looking at him once he had descended.
Entering the common room, he wasted no time and entered his room before reopening the grimoire he had borrowed, continuing his studies.

{Wingardium Leviosa} (+2 exp)
Continuing on his way as he looked at his grimoire, he noted that the increase in experience was indeed greatly increased thanks to his studies of the day.
With the charm increasing in bouts of two or three exp each time he released the spell, sometimes even more, he nodded his head.
‘Reading and learning more about the subject before practicing seems to be a good way to improve.
Of course, at some point when the knowledge becomes lacking, the slow way of grinding will always work as well.’ He thought to himself as his mouth once again muttered the words of the gravity-type charm.
At his current level, he could already use it without any problem.
However, once he mastered it, he would truly be able to use it whenever he wanted.
It did help that he loved practicing magic and stopping to play games or simply talking with others seemed like a total waste of time.
Instead, mastering magic and then moving on to other subjects while becoming more powerful seemed to be the perfect goal for him.
He was one of the few lucky ones in the world who had magic, he wanted to make sure to enjoy every part of it.
Continuing his magic practice for the evening, Lux soon noticed the experience gradually declining, proving that the accumulated knowledge had effectively been ‘used up’ during his training making it so that even a few casts might not even grant one extra exp.
Taking a deep breath as he stretched, he looked outside the window at the deep night sky filled with stars, something that was hard to see in the city but was more than common in the cave he previously lived in.
However, despite seeing it every day, he never grew tired of looking at the stars shining brightly in the night sky at who knows what distance.
Taking a look at his levitation charm, he grinned.
Levitation Charm: 6771/6912
Closing his charm book, he went straight to his bed as it was now time for his most important piece of magic, Occlumency.
He had no idea if people in the castle used it against students but he figured it wouldn’t hurt to be prepared, especially since it would be useful in the far future once he started acting as a lord publicly.
Completing his meditation and practice, he finally lay down in his bed, ready for sleep after a certainly busy day and an even busier one coming up.
3rd of September, 1991, 05h30.
Stretching, his eye bag heavy, after having only slept a couple of hours, his internal clock woke him up as usual.
Wasting no time in his day and feeding Aura, he jumped straight into his physical training.
Today was his first official day of school and he didn’t plan on arriving late to his first class but he would also make sure to complete his training to be in full form for the day.
Following his own morning schedule, he was back in the great hall at 7h30 sharp for breakfast.
At this time, most students were still sleeping with a few Ravenclaw and Slytherins already up.
However, neither Gryffindors nor Hufflepuff’s students had shown up, most likely still sleeping after a day with their friends the previous day.
Leaving once done with his sustenance, he headed straight to the charms’ classroom.
His first two periods were charms along with the Gryffindors.
Despite having trained relentlessly in charms, although not as much as with the runes, he wasn’t certain how better he was than the other students and thus, as he arrived at the classroom, he immediately continued his training.
Having gone through the Standard book of Spell year one they had to buy, he had managed to use each and every single one of the spells.
Additionally, knowing that the class started with the levitation charm, he had made sure to be extra prepared by improving his mastery as much as he could.
Taking back his wand, he opened his book and stood ready as he evaluated his classmates.
As each and everyone of them arrived in great spirits albeit a little tired, the nervousness that had gone slowly came back.
He was desperate to not be the worst in class and as such, couldn’t wait to know their levels so that he could do his best to catch up.
“Welcome to Charms.” Said a tiny professor who seemingly appeared out from behind his podium as the students gradually quietened down, looking at their teacher.
“As I’m sure each and everyone of you is interested in magic, today we won’t do any theories but instead we will jump straight into practical magic.
Today’s subject will be about the levitation charm.” Said the small professor as the students were visibly excited at directly learning magic without having to go through all of the theories that normally came with schools.
“So, first, let me show you.” He said as he took out his wand.
{Wingardium Leviosa}
At his words and the wave of his wand, the small feather in front of him immediately began floating up.
“As you can see, the levitation spell can be quite useful in your everyday lives.
As such, we will start by learning this spell.” He said as the children immediately began moving, some, such as the Gryffindors, took out their wands, wanting to try immediately.
“Everyone take out your wands.” Said the professor who was obviously expecting such an outcome.
“Now, repeat after me while doing the same wand movement as I do.”
{Wingardium Leviosa}
With a chorus of the spell and obvious mispronunciation, Lux was surprised when only his own feather lifted up from the desk, the others having had no effect.
‘What is happening?’ He wondered as his attention immediately turned to the rest of the class who had their own at him.
‘Shouldn’t they all be able to use this basic magic?
Let’s not talk about the other muggles but at least the purebloods should be able to cast the spell, shouldn’t they?’ He wondered as some doubts started creeping in his mind.
‘Could it be that I just thought too much and most of the students never even tried to train their magic or cast some spells?’ He continued, his mind running at an extremely high speed only to be brought back by the professor.
“Congratulations Mr.
Arden.
For your excellent performance, 5 points to Ravenclaw.”
