For almost two weeks, Lux kept to his training in a strict efficiency.

Perhaps it was because he was excited to learn other types of magical subject but he at least wanted to bring his occlumency, the skill so important according to the previous owner of the cave to a proper mastery level.

While the book allowed him to properly understand his training, not having to search and grind like he had done for the runes in the past year, it still took a lot of time simply meditating and doing his best to empty his mind of any type of emotions and thoughts.Full novel: Harry Potter – Runic Lexicon — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Surprisingly, his exp didn’t increase by reading the books but only by doing the action or the research himself.

All the books did was help him increase his learning speed, allowing him to gain more exp for the same action since he actually knew what he was doing this time instead of grinding randomly.

Finally, after countless hours of training, he had managed to reach his first goal, granting him a proper foundation on this special magic.

Yet, he had also noticed in the last few days that simply emptying his mind didn’t grant him as much experience of mastery as it did at the beginning and he knew that soon enough he would have to start the second step of creating defenses in his mind.

After all, all he could do at this point was to actively prevent the weak legilimency users from reading his surface emotions yet should they really try, he had no way of hiding his mind.

It was especially important with something like the runic lexicon in his life as he was certain that this artifact was not only rare if not unique but also incredibly powerful and would garner a lot of people’s interest should they enter his memories and see its existence.

Deciding to take a break from the repetitive training of occlumency, he turned towards another subject that interested him just as much as the mind arts and futhark; Potions.

From what he knew of the subjects, potions were a type of drink that the witches of the past drank to gain various powerful effects.

Perhaps it wasn’t true but it was the legends passed down in the village of Dale for centuries and such a subject was certainly interesting.

Pulling open the dark and heavy grimoire called Circe’s potions, he happily sat at the desk and started to read the introductions to potions.

~If you read this book, you must have certainly learnt a lot from Hogwarts potions class.

As such, this book will not record any basic potion knowledge but will instead record the various recipes of the StagHart family and the recipes I myself have developed over the years.

Perhaps it is nothing extraordinary but those recipes were the exclusive creation of the StagHart’s members and as such are now yours.

Do what you will with them, after all, I am unsure if the potion recipes I left behind are still useful after all these years or have been replaced by better alternatives.~

Reading this introduction, one of his eyebrows raised.

The name of Hogwarts had appeared on multiple occasions already and he still had no idea what it was except that it was perhaps some kind of supernatural school.

As for whether he would ever go there, he was interested but knew nothing of it.

Turning the introduction page, he was sent directly into a list of the names of nine different potion recipes.

– Elixir of Bad Fortune

– Draught of Premonition

– Philter of Silence

– Potion of Idle Minds

– Phial of Insanity

– Potion of the Sun

– Potion of Ecstasy

– Vial of Steelskin

– Nameless Potion

As he slowly turned the pages, keeping in mind the various steps of the different potions and properly understanding the process of creating a potion, he finally turned his attention to the Runic Codex deep in his mind.

Opening the mastery, especially for the potion mastery, he saw the nine new potions names and recipes in the column.

However, the only change was the disappearance of the nameless potion for the StagHart’s High blood potion.

‘So I still have the recipe for the potion that improved my body.’ Thought Lux with a happy grin as while he had no idea of its future use, at least he could still reproduce it if he wished, although he missed a crucial ingredient, the blood of a StagHart.

Perhaps his own would work but who knew, he would have to research and make the potions a couple of times to see if it indeed worked as intended.

Placing the book on the side as despite having all the information and the recipes, he didn’t have a working cauldron, the most important equipment for the production of potions.

Promising himself to come back and try to properly understand the recipes should he have nothing else to read, he turned his attention to the book which still greatly attracted him despite the months he had used to understand the symbols beforehand.

The book: All of Futhark.

He truly hoped to improve his understanding of these runes.

Who knew, perhaps there were still some hidden rooms in the cave.

With great anticipation, he turned open the first page of the book and he immediately recognized the symbols he had painstakingly written and copied in the past.

Skimming through the parts he already knew, all thanks to the Lexicon’s equalizer function who made sure he properly understood everything of that exp amount once he reached that level of mastery, he soon arrived at the exact meaning behind the various symbols of Futhork.

Simply reading the information hidden within the pages of the grimoire filled the young boy with satisfaction.

It was the same as searching for an object and finally finding it after long hours of search.

There was nothing he loved more than this feeling of glorification whenever he completed an important task or saw an improvement in his knowledge.

Plunging straight into the old book, the scent of old parchment and dried ink filling the small room as he drank the knowledge like there was no tomorrow, he finally understood the true use of runes.

They were a powerful alphabet that held magical energy inside of them and depending on the rune scheme, a different effect would appear.

Quickly scribbling in his notebook, he tentatively created a small rune scheme of only three runes.

However, should he succeed in his try, he was certain that it would completely change how he was living.

Walking in the main cave, just in case something went wrong, the young boy looked once more at his notebook and with a nod of his head tore off a few of the pages before he placed his pen on the paper and started writing the rune scheme, however, this time, with the little bit of magic power he could control to infuse in the runes.

Starting, he carefully inscribed the symbol for the word ‘torch’ followed by the symbol of ‘sun’ and of ‘day’ in a loop.

Despite having wanted to keep it within a certain size, it was weirdly difficult to keep infusing the magic energy in the runes if they were too small or too close from one another.

Perhaps it was only a matter of magic control but for the moment, the rune scheme took the entire notebook page before being completed.

Noticing that there wasn’t any notification of increase of experience in his mastery of Futhork, he didn’t stop there and continued.

He didn’t know if his ideas would work.

Perhaps he was wasting his time.

However, he prefered to try and fail then do nothing and wait for the answer to be given to him.

Tearing off another page, he restarted but this time with some changes.

While he kept the torch and sun symbols, he turned the day symbol on the side, hopefully transforming the symbol’s meaning from day to night.

After all, what he truly hoped was to have light during the night, allowing him to continue reading and have a few more hours every night.

Continuing with a few more tries, all variations of one another, Lux finally left all twelve papers at the entrance of the cave before heading back inside.

It was still early but considering his need to get up in the evening to look at his twelve rune schemes and their reaction to the night, he had to sleep a little bit beforehand.
