However, Aine had sensed something.

The magic of this world was not simple.

Casting magic in this world required three things: will, incantation, and gesture.Full novel: Harry Potter: The Retired Archmage — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Unlike the primitive magic he used in his daily life, he had divided magic into three categories according to his own understanding: primitive magic released instinctively by wizards, formal magic released by learning spells, and advanced magic after mastering spells.

To give a simple example, take the Summoning Charm, Accio.

Before obtaining a wand, one could only use the magic within their body to control nearby objects and make them move within a limited range.

This was primitive magic.

After learning the spell “Accio,” one could imagine the object, wave a wand, and recite the incantation, causing an object whose location was unknown to fly to them.

This was formal magic.

Once “Accio” had been mastered, one could use the wand and cast the spell nonverbally, causing an object whose location was unknown to fly to them.

This was advanced magic.

Aine was pondering what role the wand played in the process of casting magic.

Carrying this question with him, Aine continued searching for books related to wandmaking.

Just then, Fister opened the door to the small library and called out to Aine.

“Young Master Aine, it’s already time for dinner.

The Old Master is waiting for you in the dining room.”

“Fister, I know.

Tell Grandpa I’ll be there soon.”

Aine left the small library with his question still on his mind and headed toward the dining room.

As he walked, a red carpet stretched out before him, with magical constructs on both sides that had been enchanted with special Transfiguration spells.

These magical constructs were dressed in full medieval knight’s armor and held knightly lances in their hands.

After walking for more than ten minutes, Aine turned into a magical doorway.

This door was a rapid-transit passage within the castle, allowing people to move quickly through the enormous structure.

All the magical facilities in the castle had been encrypted with bloodline magic.

Anyone without the designated bloodline was unable to use them.

Aine arrived at a small family dining room.

Sitting at the table were his grandfather, Goodrian Ambrosius, and his grandmother, Regina Black Ambrosius.

Aine’s grandfather was an extremely kind old man. You are reading on novelping.com, the official source.

He wore an impeccably neat purple wizard’s robe embroidered with magical runes that shimmered with golden light.

A pale, bushy beard covered the old man’s chin, and he wore a pair of spectacles over his right eye.

Aine’s grandmother was as noble and beautiful as her name suggested.

She wore a simple women’s wizard’s robe in deep green, decorated with silver magical patterns.

Her waterfall of silvery-white hair shimmered with a diamond-like radiance.

Her face looked less like that of an eighty-year-old woman and more like that of a thirty-year-old woman.

Although her expression was slightly stern, a smile appeared on her face the moment she saw Aine enter.

Aine sat down at the far end of the table and looked around.

He didn’t see his elder brother, Tatri.

Seeing this, Goodrian spoke.

“Tatri has begun the next stage of his training.

You probably won’t see him for the next year at least.

He also said, ‘The thing you gave me is very useful.

I’ll bring you a gift when I return.’ I’m rather curious.

What did you give him?”

“Grandpa~ That’s a secret between the two of us brothers.

Don’t pry.

Besides, I have some good news to tell you.

Do you want to hear it?”

His grandmother, Regina, stopped what she was doing and asked curiously, “My little darling, what good news do you have for us?”

Aine took a sip of raspberry juice and put down his glass before saying, “Our family will soon have a new member!”

His grandfather, Goodrian, stopped cutting his steak and looked at Aine.

“Lydia is pregnant again!

That’s wonderful news!”

Seeing Aine nod, Regina immediately called for the house-elf responsible for taking care of her.

“Taan!”

Taan was the house-elf specifically responsible for taking care of Goodrian and Regina.

He looked somewhat similar to Aine’s house-elf, Fister, but his features were noticeably older.

“Lady Regina, what are your orders?”

“Taan!

Prepare the supplies needed for the arrival of the new family member and send them to the castle outside the forest.

Also, inform Koro.

The family will soon have a new member!”

“Yes, Mistress.”

After Taan disappeared, Regina looked at Aine.

“As the one who brought us such good news, what gift would you like, little darling?”

While eating his Provençal herb lamb chops, Aine answered his grandmother, “I need a set of equipment for preparing potions, along with a large quantity of medicinal ingredients.”

Regina nodded.

“I’ll have Taan prepare them.

Once everything is ready, Fister will remind you.”

“Thank you, Grandma!

Grandma, you’re the best!”

After finishing dinner, Aine returned to his room.

Affected by his body, he sometimes did things that didn’t quite fit with the soul of an adult, but it wasn’t a problem.

After all, his outward appearance was that of a child!

While organizing the books in the small library, Aine also studied the evolution of magic and discovered that records concerning ancient runes had gradually become fewer and fewer.

The number had gradually declined from more than a thousand ancient runes to the more than eight hundred recorded in modern rune books.

More than two hundred runes had disappeared from the records over the past five hundred years, as though some unseen hand had been trying to erase all traces of them.

Most importantly, after spending three months organizing the small library, Aine discovered that it contained only books from the past five hundred years.

There wasn’t a single book from before that period.

Yet the Ambrosius family had existed since before the Common Era and was one of the three oldest surviving ancient families in all of Europe, with a lineage stretching back the furthest among them.

It was impossible for the family to possess only this small number of magical books.

That left only one answer…
