An hour later, everyone’s enthusiasm for Transfiguration had plummeted.

The subject was undeniably fascinating.

But reaching Professor McGonagall’s level—casually transforming an entire desk into a pig—required years of painstaking practice.Full novel: Harry Potter: The Strongest Animagus in History — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

After filling pages with complicated notes, Professor McGonagall tapped the teacher’s desk with her wand.

A matchstick immediately appeared in front of every student.

“Using the principles of Transfiguration I’ve just explained,” she said, “I’d like each of you to try turning your matchstick into a needle.” Finally free from endless theory, the classroom instantly came alive as everyone eagerly drew their wands.

Charlotte did the same.

However, instead of rushing into it, he first reviewed everything Professor McGonagall had just taught.

Only after mentally going through every key point did he raise his wand and lightly tap the matchstick.

The next moment— The wooden match transformed instantly into a gleaming silver sewing needle.

“Oh my God!” “How did you do that?” Charles cried out in disbelief.

He had already tried two or three times.

Not only had he failed…

He had somehow managed to set his matchstick on fire instead.

Hearing the commotion, the other students quickly turned around.

When they saw the perfectly transformed needle lying on Charlotte’s desk, expressions of astonishment spread across their faces.

Only Draco Malfoy looked thoroughly unimpressed.

So what if he succeeded on the first try?

He’s still just a filthy Mudblood.

Professor McGonagall strode quickly over.

Without saying much, she merely raised an eyebrow before summoning another matchstick onto Charlotte’s desk.

“Excellent work, Mr Elvis.” “Now…” “Would you mind demonstrating it once more for the class?” “Certainly, Professor.” Charlotte lightly tapped the matchstick again.

Instantly, it became another perfectly formed steel needle.

Professor McGonagall nodded with obvious satisfaction.

She picked up the needle and walked around the classroom, allowing every student to inspect it closely.

Then she announced loudly, “Mr Charlotte Elvis has demonstrated outstanding skill in Transfiguration.” “Ten points to Ravenclaw.” “Thank you, Professor McGonagall.” At that exact moment— Ding!

Congratulations!

The host has broken Hogwarts’ one-hundred-year record for the fastest mastery of Transfiguration.

Reward: Skill Points ×2.

Charlotte blinked.

So this counts too?

And it even rewarded two skill points.

Previously, killing a Dark Wizard had only earned him one.

Then another thought crossed his mind.

If this only broke the record of the past hundred years…

Who still holds the all-time record?

Ding!

The host’s Transfiguration learning speed ranks third in Hogwarts’ thousand-year history.

First Place: Godric Gryffindor.

Second Place: Albus Dumbledore.

The record you have surpassed belonged to Tom Marvolo Riddle.

Charlotte smiled inwardly.

Well…

Losing only to Godric Gryffindor and Dumbledore isn’t exactly embarrassing.

And beating Voldemort’s record?

That’s pretty satisfying.

More importantly…

He had discovered an entirely new way to earn skill points.

After Charlotte’s success, the rest of the class became even more determined.

Draco Malfoy, in particular, practically threw himself into the exercise.

Not because he loved Transfiguration…

But because he wanted Slytherin to earn House points.

To Hogwarts students, the House Cup was a matter of tremendous pride.

Unlike the relatively laid-back Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff students…

Gryffindor and Slytherin fought fiercely for it every single year.

Unfortunately…

Not a single student managed to perform a complete Transfiguration before class ended.

Hermione came the closest.

She had only managed to make her matchstick slightly thinner and give it a faint silvery sheen.

Even so, Professor McGonagall awarded Gryffindor one encouraging House point.

Their next lesson was Potions with Professor Snape.

The moment Charlotte sat down, Hermione immediately walked over and took the seat beside him.

Charles arrived a second later and stared at her in disbelief.

“That’s my seat.” “Gryffindors are supposed to sit over there.” Hermione lifted her chin proudly.

“There isn’t a single Hogwarts rule saying this desk belongs to Ravenclaw.” “And besides…” “I’m sure Charlotte would much rather sit beside an intelligent and beautiful young lady like me.” Charles was instantly rendered speechless.

He turned pleading eyes towards Charlotte.

Charlotte could only shrug helplessly.

Bang!

The classroom door slammed open with startling force.

Charlotte instinctively turned around.

A middle-aged man in flowing black robes swept into the room like a gust of wind.

His robes billowed dramatically behind him, making him look almost like a vampire.

Severus Snape stopped at the front of the classroom and slowly surveyed the students.

His eyes eventually settled on Charles, who was still standing in the aisle.

Snape frowned slightly.

“Mr Charles Anthony.” “Do you have some objection to my Potions class?” Charles visibly shuddered beneath Snape’s cold stare.

“N-No, Professor Snape!” He hurriedly found another seat.

On his very first evening in Ravenclaw, Charles had heard from a Gryffindor student that Professor Snape was practically a terrifying Dark Wizard.

The advice he’d been given was simple.

Never provoke him.

Unless you wanted to die a very unpleasant death.

Snape began calling the register.

When he reached Harry Potter’s name, he paused.

“Harry…” “…Potter.” “Our newest celebrity.” “The boy whose name the entire wizarding world knew from the moment he was born.” His voice was strangely soft.

Almost a whisper.

Yet every student in the classroom heard every single word with perfect clarity.

More importantly…

Everyone could hear the unmistakable hostility behind them.

Drawing his black robes around himself, Snape spoke in an icy tone.

“There will be no foolish wand-waving in this class.” “I can teach you how to bottle fame…” “…brew glory…” “…and even put a stopper in death.” “But I do not expect all of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art of potion-making.” “I ask only that you do not prove yourselves as foolish as some of the idiots I have taught before.” The classroom immediately fell silent.

Every student sat perfectly straight, desperate not to be counted among those “idiots.” Hermione, in particular, stared at Snape with complete concentration.

She looked ready to leap to her feet the instant he asked a question.

“Potter.” Snape suddenly called on Harry.

“If I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood, what would I obtain?” Harry froze.

He hadn’t even caught the names of the ingredients.

Sneaking a glance at Ron, who looked just as bewildered, Harry lowered his head.

“Sorry, Professor…” “I don’t know.” “If I asked you to fetch me a bezoar, where would you look?” “I…” “I know, Professor!” Hermione’s hand shot into the air.

Snape ignored her completely.

“What is the difference between monkshood and wolfsbane?” Harry’s voice grew quieter with every question.

“I…

don’t know.” Meanwhile, Hermione’s arm stretched higher and higher.

She looked as though she were trying to reach the ceiling.

Charlotte let out a quiet sigh.

Without drawing attention, he gently lowered her raised hand.

Hermione looked at him in confusion.

Charlotte simply shook his head.

Woman…

I strongly suggest you mind your own business.
