"What? Where did you see it? When did he post it?"
Yan Mo felt a thud in her heart. She immediately rolled over to get up, her hands trembling as she scrambled to check her Moments.
"188,000? That bastard Zhang Zheng wouldn't even give me 88,000 in betrothal gifts, but turned around and spent 188,000 to marry someone else?" While complaining to Zhao Luoluo, she scrolled through her Moments. In the end, she searched for a long time but found nothing.
She found Zhang Zheng's WeChat and clicked directly on his profile picture, but at the very top of his Moments, there were only two lines with a black dot in the middle.
Their seven years of feelings were severed by that dot in the middle into two separate lines, never to be joined together again.
It was as if she and Zhang Zheng had truly parted ways.
What did their seven years of feelings count for? What did her waiting and anticipation over these past few months count for?
Yan Mo's final hope was shattered by this phone call from Zhao Luoluo.
At this moment, Yan Mo no longer loved him.
"No way? Is Zhang Zheng really such a bastard? You two broke up because of the betrothal gifts?" Zhao Luoluo asked in confusion.
"I can't see his Moments anymore. Send me the picture he posted," Yan Mo said, ignoring Zhao Luoluo's question.
"Alright, I'll send it to you right now." Zhao Luoluo knew it was urgent and didn't ask for details. She hung up the phone and quickly forwarded the picture to Yan Mo.
Yan Mo looked at Zhang Zheng's familiar face, which was smiling brightly. Standing next to him was a bride in a wedding dress with a radiant smile; it was somewhat blinding.
So, love can disappear in an instant. Her love for Zhang Zheng vanished the moment she saw the photo, replaced by a heart full of rage. "Luoluo, I'm sending you a screenshot. Go and help me print one hundred copies immediately. Remember, use color on A4 paper. I'll send you my location in a bit; come find me as soon as you're done."
"What are you doing? The print shop isn't even open yet," Zhao Luoluo said, her tone sounding troubled.
"I don't care what method you use! Now! Immediately! Go print it!" Yan Mo's tone allowed no room for argument.
Zhao Luoluo quickly sent a terrified emoji: "No way! Yan Mo, you aren't planning to crash the wedding, are you?"
"Crash nothing, I'm going to collect a debt!" Yan Mo quickly typed out this line.
Finding typing too slow, she sent a voice message: "That scum Zhang Zheng borrowed 100,000 from me to buy a car while we were dating. If I don't ask for it today, I'm afraid I won't be able to get it back in the future."
On the other end of the phone, she zoomed in on the screenshot Yan Mo sent; it was indeed the transfer record she had given to Zhang Zheng.
"You two were together for seven years, do you really still want this money?"
"Why wouldn't I? That thing called feelings isn't worth anything; once it's gone, it's gone. But the 100,000 I lent him was money I earned through hard work, leaving early and returning late, one cent at a time. I can't let that bastard get away with it."
"But, Yan Mo, your family's condition is quite good; you aren't short of this 100,000. I think today is Zhang Zheng's wedding day, you should still not go. After all, you had seven years of feelings; if you make a scene, you'll fall out. Won't you be embarrassing him by going?"
"He isn't afraid of embarrassing me, so why would I be afraid of embarrassing him?" Yan Mo said while applying makeup, then opened a voice call.
She had originally wanted to just put on clothes and go, but she didn't want to go without makeup. At the very least, she had to win this battle looking beautiful.
"Zhao Luoluo, whose side are you on? We've been best friends since we were kids. Now you aren't standing on my side, you're standing on his? My family has money, but that's my family's. What I earned myself is what truly belongs to me. I must get it back, otherwise, this old lady won't be able to vent this anger."
Zhao Luoluo could understand Yan Mo well. A man she had been with for seven years and was about to marry turned around and married someone else; who wouldn't be angry?
"Fine, since you've made up your mind, I support you unconditionally. I'm going to knock on the print shop door now and race against time to get the screenshot printed for you."
After hanging up the voice call, Yan Mo finished her makeup. With time tight and the task heavy, she performed beyond her usual level in a short time, creating a look even more beautiful than usual.
She then put on a long black coat. Once this battle robe was on, she looked at herself in the full-length mirror. With her hair cascading in large waves down to her waist, she had a look of sharp, resolute beauty.
She checked the time on her phone; it was only a little past six.
She knew Zhang Zheng's wedding was in his hometown in the town. There was only one road to his house. Although it was a two-lane road, there were rivers on both sides. As long as one car drove slightly toward the middle, the car on the opposite side couldn't pass.
Yan Mo had planned it out; she would block him on this road. If he didn't pay back the money, he wouldn't be getting married either.
When Yan Mo left the house, her parents were already awake. Yan Zhiyuan was shaving, Su Yunxiu was cooking breakfast in the kitchen, and her younger brother, who was on winter vacation, was still sleeping in his room.
"Momo, where are you going?" Su Yunxiu saw her daughter up so early, wearing exquisite makeup and nice clothes, and thought she was going to find Zhang Zheng.
"Nothing, Mom. Luoluo called and asked me to go hang out with her," Yan Mo said calmly while changing her shoes.
Hearing that her daughter wasn't going to see Zhang Zheng, Su Yunxiu and Yan Zhiyuan both breathed a sigh of relief.
Yan Zhiyuan was shaving, his face covered in white foam, and he spoke somewhat unclearly: "Momo, Dad has arranged a few blind dates for you. When will you go see them?"
"Dad, tomorrow is fine." Yan Mo didn't brush her father off this time and said very seriously, "Dad, help me arrange a few more. I want to choose carefully."
Yan Zhiyuan was so surprised his hand stopped. He looked out the window in confusion, "Momo is actually being obedient? Did the sun rise from the west today?"
Yan Mo walked out the door in her trench coat, moving with purpose. Just as she was about to enter the elevator, her younger brother Yan Chen came out from behind.
"Sister, wait for me!" Yan Chen shouted while hurriedly putting on his shoes.
"Weren't you sleeping? Why are you coming out?" Yan Mo didn't understand what her brother meant. "I'm going out to handle serious business, don't cause trouble."
"Sister, I'm not going to cause trouble." Yan Chen anxiously opened his Moments and held up the wedding post Zhang Zheng had made for Yan Mo to see. "Sister, I saw the Moments Brother-in-law posted. I know you're going to crash the wedding and teach that bastard a lesson. Sister, don't worry, I'll go with you. I'll help you beat him up!"
The siblings entered the elevator, and Yan Mo said sternly: "Don't call him Brother-in-law anymore, remember that! Also, I'm not going to teach him a lesson; I'm going to collect money."
Yan Chen knew he had said the wrong thing and quickly covered his mouth, squeezing a few words out from between his fingers, "Sister, sorry! I called him Brother-in-law for seven years, I couldn't change it for a moment."
Yan Mo snatched Yan Chen's mobile phone, "Delete it. He is no longer your Brother-in-law."
