Moonveil Palace stood at the farthest edge of the imperial estate, separated from the grand inner palaces by quiet stone paths and overgrown gardens.

Unlike the luxurious residence of the Noble Consort, the abandoned palace was small and painfully simple.

It was less of a royal palace and more like a forgotten countryside estate hidden behind tall walls and old trees.Full novel: Hated Male Consort — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

The residence contained only:

a modest main hall, a small bedroom, a servant’s room beside the kitchen, a quiet backyard, a fenced front garden, and a tiny lotus pond reflecting the moonlight at night.

No crystal lanterns.

No marble halls.

No endless servants.

Only silence.

Strangely enough— for the first time since waking up in this unfamiliar world…

I felt like I could finally breathe.

Finally, a place of my own.

Here, I could begin building a new life.

On the first day after transmigrating here, I kept thinking about returning to my original world.

But now…

I realized there was no way back.

We had already been living in Moonveil Palace for fifteen days.

During those fifteen days, I had done nothing except sleep and eat.

Most of the time, I sat by the bedroom window and gazed outside absentmindedly.

Kairo constantly tried to drag me outside to the backyard or the garden, but I always refused.

I just wanted to sleep.

Somehow, I believed that if I slept long enough and focused deeply on my thoughts, I might discover a way back to my original life.

But every single time I woke up—

I was still here.

Still trapped inside this room.

Still inside Elyas’s body.

I never returned.

My family must be worried about me…

Wait a minute.

What if Elyas’s soul transmigrated into my body too?

In my world, I got caught in a violent water current.

And here, Elyas jumped into the river.

Maybe we both drowned at the exact same moment in different timelines.

My eyes widened.

This actually makes sense!

This was exactly like those transmigration dramas I used to watch in my original world.

Wow.

Who would have thought I would get lucky enough to experience this in real life?

No one would ever believe me.

I sighed dramatically.

Back in my world, I was one of the most sought-after models in the city—always surrounded by fans, cameras, and admirers.

And now?

I couldn’t even catch sight of another human being.

Well… except Kairo.

I glanced outside the window.

A bird flew across the sky.

Even that bird ignored me completely.

Great.

At this rate, I was going to die from boredom.

No television.

No air conditioner.

No refrigerator.

And most importantly— no phone.

I had survived fifteen whole days without my phone.

Unbelievable.

That lucky rat, Elyas, was probably enjoying my luxurious apartment and celebrity life right now.

Wait.

Then why was I wasting my time lying around here like a depressed couch potato?

I suddenly sat upright.

I should be using this time properly.

What had I decided before coming to this palace?

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

A slow grin spread across my face.

Alright then.

Let’s make lemonade.

“Kairo!” I shouted while jumping off the bed.

Hurried footsteps echoed outside.

“Yes, Master?” Kairo rushed in, staring at me with wide eyes.

“Do we have lemons in the kitchen?” I asked urgently.

“…What?” he blinked in confusion.

“You know… small, yellow, sour fruit.

Lemons,” I explained while making random hand gestures.

“Ah!

Lemons.

Yes, we do,” Kairo nodded after finally understanding me.

“Good.

Take me to the kitchen.”

I immediately walked toward the door, suddenly feeling energized for the first time in days.

No matter what world I lived in—

I still needed to maintain my appearance and health.

After all,

I was Elias.

Author’s Note

Finally, Elias is slowly coming out of his frozen mental state and deciding to move forward.

And yes… our main lead was genuinely planning to make lemonade after saying: “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”

This chapter was short and calm before the real palace drama begins.

Our female lead still hasn’t entered the stage yet… but trust me, a lot is waiting ahead Thank you so much for reading and supporting this story.
