“Don’t hold back.”

The man leaned close to her ear, his voice low and husky, carrying a tenderness that was almost fierce.

He lowered his head and caught the tip of her burning ear between his lips.Full novel: He Calls Me Boring, But He’s Obsessed With Me — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Beads of sweat gathered at his temples and trickled down his tense jaw before disappearing against her snow-white skin, sending delicate ripples through her body.

Her fingers clutched desperately at his shoulders, and a faint tremor ran through her.

The man then captured her soft, rosy lips, glistening with moisture, and kissed her again and again.

“Let me hear you,” he whispered breathlessly against her ear.

A misty haze clouded her eyes, and her breathing grew increasingly unsteady.

At last, she could no longer suppress the soft, breathless moans escaping her lips.

In the stillness of the night, those delicate sounds were particularly enchanting.

She was like a gardenia bud slowly unfurling, blossoming beneath the warmth of his affection.

Yet the man showed no intention of giving her even a moment to catch her breath.

His kisses continued, falling like gentle rain upon every delicate petal of the blooming gardenia.

Everywhere his lips touched, they left behind a lingering warmth that seemed to burn through her skin.

Eventually, enveloped in a languid warmth, she drifted into a deep sleep.

Ring! Ring! Ring!

The shrill ringing of a phone suddenly shattered the silence.

Fu Yan had absolutely no intention of answering it.

He had barely begun enjoying himself. How could he leave now?

Unfortunately, the phone kept ringing, again and again, showing no sign of stopping.

Damn it!

Whoever was calling had some nerve, interrupting a man’s private affairs like this!

Fu Yan propped himself up impatiently, snatched the phone, and answered in a voice cold enough to freeze someone where they stood.

“You’d better be calling about a matter of life and death. Otherwise, I swear I’ll cripple you tomorrow.”

Chen Zhou stiffened in fright. Even through the phone, he could practically feel the murderous fury radiating from the other end.

“Spit it out already! Stop wasting my damn time!”

Chen Zhou stammered nervously, “Old Master Fu suffered a sudden heart attack and was rushed to the hospital. He couldn’t get through to you, so he called me instead…”

Fu Yan froze.

He abruptly sat upright and wiped the sweat from his forehead. The lingering effects of the alcohol, along with much of the heat coursing through his body, vanished almost instantly.

Leaning against the headboard, he felt a fresh wave of irritation rise within him.

He had blocked that troublesome old man’s number ages ago. Of course the old geezer couldn’t reach him!

Fu Yan got out of bed, grabbed a cup of water, and gulped down several mouthfuls. His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, forcing himself to suppress the lingering restlessness in his body.

Still irritated, he snatched his crumpled shirt off the floor, threw it on carelessly, grabbed his coat, and headed for the door.

But just as he reached the doorway, his footsteps suddenly stopped.

It was as though his feet had been nailed to the floor.

After a moment’s hesitation, he turned around and walked back.

His gaze settled on the woman sleeping on her stomach, and he found himself unable to look away.

The fierce irritation that had consumed him moments earlier melted away without a trace.

He bent down and pressed a deep yet tender kiss against her shoulder.

The gentleness in his expression was a complete contrast to the cold, ruthless man who had answered the phone.

His voice remained rough and hoarse, but there was an unmistakable tenderness beneath it.

“Be good. Wait for me to come back.”

With that, Fu Yan strode out of the room and entered the elevator.

As he looked at his reflection in the mirrored wall, he noticed the lingering desire still visible in his eyes.

He raised a hand and slowly brushed his thumb across the corner of his lips.

Then, almost unconsciously, his mouth curved into a satisfied smile.

Clearly, he was still savoring what had happened.

He glanced down at his wristwatch.

Three in the morning.

He cursed silently.

He really must have been starving for affection.

To think that a woman he had picked up on a whim could captivate him so completely that he nearly lost his senses.

Even walking away from her felt unbearable.

The elevator descended slowly.

All because he wanted to rebel against that old-fashioned tyrant at home, he had impulsively surrendered the chastity he had preserved for thirty whole years to a woman whose face he hadn’t even seen clearly.

The Fu family had maintained an ironclad rule for generations.

As the family heir, one must never treat divorce lightly, nor indulge in promiscuous relationships.

In Old Master Fu’s words, the principle was simple.

“If you can’t even control what goes on inside your own trousers, how can you possibly manage the Fu family’s century-old legacy?”

And so, Fu Yan had obediently followed that rule for thirty long years.

Not once had he crossed the line.

Over the years, countless women had thrown themselves at him.

There were bold and seductive women, charming and flirtatious ones, seemingly innocent beauties, and calculating schemers.

He had encountered practically every kind imaginable.

Yet not a single one had ever made him willingly lower his defenses and surrender himself completely.

If Old Master Fu hadn’t appeared ten hours earlier, waving a marriage agreement in his face and demanding that he marry some old-fashioned woman he had never even met, Fu Yan would never have gone to a tavern to drown his frustrations and indulge himself.

And now, as he recalled everything that had happened, he found the experience dangerously intoxicating.

That dazzlingly fair skin.

The soft yet supple feeling beneath his fingertips.

Every fleeting memory was enough to make his carefully maintained self-control crumble.

He had never imagined that a single encounter could leave him so utterly captivated.

If only he hadn’t indulged her request to keep the lights off.

He should have insisted on lighting the room.

At least then, when he looked back on their encounter, his memories wouldn’t consist of little more than an endless expanse of pale skin.

Fu Yan clenched his jaw in frustration and stepped out of the elevator.

After the exertion, he felt much more sober, though the alcohol had not fully worn off.
