“Jiang Mian, are you this desperate?”
The moment Jiang Mian opened her eyes, she saw a man’s bloodshot, violet-gold eyes staring intently at her.
The man was breathing heavily, his chest heaving.
His voice was low and full of killing intent as he gripped her wrist tightly.
“You want to sleep with me that badly?”
His broad, blood-stained, sticky palm clutched her wrist with immense force, as if he were about to crush the bones within.
“Let go!” Jiang Mian’s brows furrowed sharply.
She didn’t know him at all.
She struggled violently against his grip.
“Who are you?
Are you insane?!”
The man was half-naked, kneeling before her.
He had short, messy purple hair, the bangs soaked with sweat and stuck to his temples.
He had stunningly beautiful features, and his violet-gold eyes, like shifting sand, were now completely red as if steeped in blood.
Behind him, one of his massive, dark purple butterfly wings was spread wide, large enough to block out the sky, while the other was twisted and drooping as if broken.
But Jiang Mian didn’t know him at all!
A sneer appeared on Zhao Ci’s face.
His cheeks were flushed red from the effects of a drug, making him look morbidly bewitching.
“Heh, what kind of trick are you trying to pull now?”
Before Jiang Mian could react, a sharp pain shot through her head as a flood of memories that didn’t belong to her poured into her mind.
When she realized what was happening, an expression of utter disbelief crossed her face.
The next second, the man before her seized her chin, forcing Jiang Mian’s gaze to lock onto his bewitchingly beautiful face, now just inches away.
The man’s oppressive, chilling gaze bored down on her.
His breathing grew closer, and his voice held a vicious edge.
“Fine.
What do you want to play?”
Jiang Mian’s lips moved, but no words came out.
Her throat felt as if it were blocked, too dry for her to speak.
“Go on.
Play me to death.” The man’s scorching hand suddenly clamped down on the nape of her neck.
He brought his face close to her ear, his low, panting, and sinister voice like a devil’s whisper.
A chill ran down Jiang Mian’s spine, and her heart pounded with panic.
‘That vicious tone doesn’t sound like an invitation to play with him,’ she thought.
‘It sounds like he wants to kill me.’
‘All I want is to get out of here!’
“Play?
Play my ass!” Jiang Mian shoved the man away.
She scrambled and tumbled off the bed, landing on the floor.
As if chased by a ferocious beast, she quickly got to her feet and fled out the door.
When Jiang Mian shoved him and he fell to the floor, Zhao Ci’s expression was one of momentary shock.
A moment later, his eyes darkened, his emotions swirling within their depths.
A layer of violet-gold poison dust coated his long, slender fingers.
If she hadn’t pushed him away just now, that poison dust would have landed on her.
After running out, Jiang Mian followed the new memories in her mind to find the original owner’s room.
She rushed inside and slammed the door shut.
Her mind was a chaotic mess, like a bowl of paste.
From the extra memories in her mind, she realized she had apparently transmigrated.
She had traveled from an era where Beastmen kept humans, back to a past where humans kept Beastmen.
Logically, as a pure human who had been kept by Beastmen for ten years, she should have been happy to travel back to an era where humans kept Beastmen and she no longer had to be captive.
But after receiving the memories, she couldn’t feel happy at all.
The person she had transmigrated into was a “vicious true daughter.” She had been brought back from a Remote Star to the Imperial Capital Star, only to become jealous of the well-raised “false daughter.” After committing all sorts of evil deeds, she was framed by the false daughter and exiled to a Deserted Star, “gifted” with five rebellious Beast Slaves who were all in their manic periods.
And so, during the exile, the “true daughter” took out all her frustrations on her five Beast Slaves.
The five Beast Slaves loathed her, but because of the chips in their brains, they couldn’t do anything to her.
From birth, every Beastman has a chip implanted in their brain area.
Once a chip acknowledges a master, that master can control the Beastman’s life and death, and even use the chip to torture them.
If the master dies, the Beast Slave’s chip will explode, killing them along with their master.
Relying on this, the original owner had unscrupulously tortured her five Beast Slaves in various ways.
Just moments ago, she had even drugged one of her Beast Slaves, intending to force an irreversible situation.
And that’s when Jiang Mian had inexplicably transmigrated.
Moreover, if Jiang Mian remembered correctly, she had once seen a news story on the Star Network about this era of humans keeping Beastmen.
It was about this very “true daughter” being exiled to a Deserted Star and subsequently killed by her five Beast Slaves.
Jiang Mian had now become this vicious true daughter.
In three years, her five captive Beast Slaves would find a way to break free from the chip’s control, kill her, their master, and become a top headline on the Star Network.
For a moment, Jiang Mian began to worry for her life.
‘Did I transmigrate here for no reason, only to be killed by my Beast Slaves in three years?’
Before Jiang Mian could even breathe a sigh of relief, there was a heavy POUNDING on her door.
“Jiang Mian!
Get out here!” The roar from the other side of the door was thick with rage.
Jiang Mian frowned slightly.
After a moment’s hesitation, she walked over and opened the door.
The moment she did, a tall man strode in.
Jiang Mian instinctively took a few steps back, but a wheat-colored, muscular yet scarred arm shot out at lightning speed, grabbing her by the collar and hoisting her up.
Her clothes tightened around her neck, forcing her to look up at the enraged Beastman before her.
He had short black hair, with two wolf ears barely visible within it.
His right ear was pierced with a row of red studs, which were faintly oozing blood.
It was hard to tell if the studs were red or just stained by blood, but they glinted harshly under the incandescent light.
The Beastman’s features were handsome, fierce, and cold.
The sharp brow bone above the ear with the red studs was lowered menacingly.
His dark eyes, filled with rage, were murky and grim as they stared daggers at Jiang Mian.
His voice, full of anger yet tinged with restrained pain, growled, “Jiang Mian, where’s my medicine?
Where did you hide it?!”
Jiang Mian was already furious about being grabbed by the collar, but being yelled at and questioned pushed her anger to its peak.
“What medicine of yours would I hide?
Let go of my collar, can’t you talk properly?!”
She grabbed the arm holding her collar and slapped at it forcefully.
But the Beastman’s arm was like iron, unmoving.
Not only did he not let go, he roughly yanked her closer and roared, “Jiang Mian!
Don’t play dumb with me!
Who else would take the medicine for my manic period?
If you don’t give it back, I swear I’ll kill you before you can kill me!”
Jiang Mian was stunned by his shouting.
A memory flashed in her mind: the original owner had indeed stolen his medicine.
And flushed it down the toilet!
Because this Beastman had talked back to her, the original owner had gotten angry and stolen the medicine he needed for his manic period, then thrown it away.
Without the medicine to calm them, a Beastman in a manic period would suffer extreme pain.
Their body would feel like it was burning as they shifted uncontrollably between their beast and human forms.
A Beastman who couldn’t endure the manic period would die.
Furthermore, as a Beastman aged, their manic periods would become more severe, and the mortality rate would increase.
‘But it’s not like I can fish the medicine out of the toilet now, can I?’
