Her father’s recording filled the warehouse…
And the echo of his words repeated in the place as if it refused to end.
Nora was standing, tears in her eyes, unable to move.
“So…
all of this was planned from the beginning…” she whispered.
Yeonho took a step toward her: “Nora, listen to me…”
But she quickly pulled back: “No!
I don’t want any more lies!”
A heavy silence fell.
Taeho took a deep breath, then said: “It’s time for you to know everything, with nothing missing.”
He stepped forward: “Your father didn’t die by accident…
he was trying to protect a project that would change everything.”
Nora looked at him: “And me?”
Yeonho looked directly at her this time, with no evasion: “You’re not just his daughter…”
He paused for a moment.
Then said: “You’re the last key.”
Nora froze.
“A key to what?”
Yeonho came closer to her: “The key that either prevents or unlocks what’s inside the entire system.”
Suddenly…
The blue box started emitting a strong light again.
Instead, it opened completely on its own.
And out of it came a small device, along with a new recording that started playing automatically.
Her father’s voice came back again:
“If you’ve reached this…
know that I wasn’t killed…
I chose to disappear.”
Nora gasped: “What?!”
Then the voice continued:
“Nora…
if you’re hearing this, it means Yeonho did his duty until the end.”
Nora looked at him quickly.
But this time he was looking at her with genuine sadness.
The recording continued:
“Yeonho wasn’t just a guard…
he was my only promise.”
A heavy silence fell.
Then the recording ended.
Nora looked at Yeonho: “So…
He shook his head slowly: “I didn’t lie…
I just didn’t tell the whole truth.”
He took one last step toward her: “I wasn’t just your protector…
I was the person your father asked to stay by your side…
no matter what happened.”
Nora’s eyes welled up: “And all this danger?”
He looked toward the open door behind them where the man had disappeared: “It’s over now.”
Taeho smiled quietly: “The box is closed…
and the truth is out.”
Yeonho held out his hand to her: “And now…
the decision is yours, Nora.”
She looked at him for a long time…
At everything that had happened…
At the pain, the truth, and the fear…
Then she placed her hand in his.
“If this is the price…
then I choose to stay.”
Yeonho smiled for the first time, sincerely.
And outside the warehouse…
The sky began to clear after a long storm.
