Jessica’s POV

“You need to listen carefully, Jessica,” the old healer’s voice trembles, soft but sharp.

I can feel the weight behind her words, the gravity that makes my pulse hammer in my chest.Full novel: Her Alphas, Her Throne — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Her eyes are bright, piercing, filled with secrets that were buried for decades.

“I’m listening,” I say, but my voice shakes.

My body still hums from yesterday—heat lingering, wolf on edge, muscles twitching with a raw, unfamiliar power.

Even now, the proximity of Charles and Jude keeps my blood boiling, desire and fear tangled together in a dangerous knot.

“The seal placed on you,” she begins slowly, leaning on her staff, knuckles white, “was never supposed to exist.

It was illegal.

You were born to rule, Jessica.

To lead the Silverfang Pack as an Alpha-Queen.

But… they feared you.”

I stiffen.

“What… what do you mean?” My wolf stiffens too, claws digging at the inside of my chest.

I feel fire coiling in my blood.

“They?

Who?”

“Jackson, the elders, your family… they performed a ritual to suppress your wolf.

To make you weak.

To make you obedient.” Her hands tremble as she reaches out, brushing my hair from my face.

“They didn’t want the queen to rise.

They wanted a puppet.

And you… you’ve been living in chains you didn’t even know existed.”

My stomach twists.

Rage rises hot and sharp in my chest.

Every cell screams for vengeance.

My wolf growls low, rattling my ribcage, whining at me to move, to strike, to take back what is mine.

“So… Jackson…

He lied to me.

Controlled me.” My voice cracks.

“All this time… my heat, my weakness… Is it because of him?”

“Yes,” the healer whispers.

“He helped bind you.

He was part of the ritual.

And the elders… they watched.

Waiting.

Hoping your wolf would never wake.”

My fists clench.

My nails dig into my palms.

I can feel the heat building again, hotter, more insistent, like wildfire licking at the edges of my sanity.

My legs tremble.

My hips shift subtly, instinctively, and I curse under my breath.

I can feel Charles behind me, his presence smoldering, hungry, ready to take what’s his—my scent pulling him closer despite my control.

“You’re trembling,” he murmurs, low and rough, voice brushing against my ear.

I shiver, trying to suppress the reaction.

My body wants him, my wolf wants him, but my mind is raging with fury and betrayal.

“Control yourself,” Jude says softly, his hand brushing my shoulder, not touching where I burn the most, but grounding me, restraining me with his calm presence.

This is power, Jessica.

Let it guide you.

Don’t let rage consume you completely—yet.”

I nod, but my wolf whines, claws scraping at my chest, teeth bared inside my mind.

I feel every pulse of desire, every brush of tension in the room, and I hate it—and love it all at once.

“How… how do I fix it?” My voice is ragged.

I want to rip the world apart, to take back everything, to hunt every traitor who dared suppress me.

My wolf surges forward, hungry, claws scratching at my soul.

“You must break the seal yourself,” the healer says, trembling.

“It’s dangerous.

You will feel pain unlike anything you’ve known.

Heat will consume you.

Your wolf will scream.

Charles and Jude… they can guide you, but the choice… it must be yours.”

I inhale sharply.

My body trembles, my core pulsing with a new, intense hunger.

Desire and power are tangled together so tightly I don’t know where one ends and the other begins.

My nipples ache under the thin fabric of my shirt, my thighs tighten with instinctual need.

My wolf roars at me—claim it, claim it, claim everything.

“You’ll need control,” Charles murmurs, his hand brushing the curve of my waist, teasing, possessive.

“Pain, heat, hunger… it will all come at once.

Are you ready to feel it?”

“I…” I falter.

My heart hammers.

My wolf screams in frustration and longing.

“I don’t know if I can—”

“You can,” Jude says, voice firm but gentle.

His eyes meet mine, steadying, holding me in place.

“You will.”

The air in the healer’s room seems to thrum, vibrating with the raw energy spilling from me.

I can smell the faint fear in the room—the other pack members who peek through the windows, sensing the shift in my scent, the power leaking from me.

They can’t understand it yet.

They only know that something primal, dangerous, and irresistible has arrived, and it centers on me.

Charles steps closer again, pressing his body against mine, careful, teasing.

My pulse races, hips shifting against the invisible pull, and my wolf whines.

“Do not resist me,” he growls, voice low, hot, commanding.

“Your power, your heat… it’s mine to feel, to provoke.”

I bite my lip, shaking, trying to focus, but my body betrays me.

Every nerve is alive, every instinct shouting.

I feel the heat pooling between my thighs, my nipples tight, my stomach twisting with the mingled ache of rage and desire.

My wolf roars, clawing at me to surrender, to give in.

“Control it, Jessica,” Jude whispers in my ear, fingers brushing my arm.

“Pain, pleasure, power—they are your allies.

Let the fire guide you.”

I shiver violently, knees weak.

My back arches slightly, my body aching with desire and the raw pull of my wolf. This story is hosted at g.com.

Charles hums low, brushing against my hair, teeth grazing my neck just enough to make me shiver.

“Such power,” he murmurs.

“And it’s all yours to unleash.”

“I…” I gasp, breath hitching.

“I will… take it back.”

“Yes,” the healer says, voice trembling with awe.

“Your birthright… your wolf… it’s awake.

And the pack will never be the same.”

Suddenly, the room chills.

Shadows twist unnaturally along the walls.

My wolf growls, body tense.

Someone is here.

Watching.

Waiting.

A presence so silent, so dark, it makes my teeth ache and my claws itch to strike.

Charles and Jude exchange a look, their tension instantly sharpening.

“They know,” Jude mutters.

“Someone has sensed the shift.

And they’re moving.”

My stomach twists, heat mingling with dread and thrill.

Rage, power, and desire swirl inside me in a dangerous cocktail.

My wolf howls silently, scent flaring, energy spilling from me.

I am no longer weak.

I am rising.

I am awake.

“You will not control me,” I whisper, voice low, raw, shaking with heat and power.

My wolf roars with me.

My body is alive, throbbing, ready to explode.

Charles brushes his lips along my neck, possession and hunger in every movement, while Jude’s hand rests lightly on my shoulder, steadying, holding me back, feeding the tension.

Every inch of my body feels like fire and ice at once.

The healer’s eyes widened.

“It’s… unstoppable now.”

A soft, deliberate click echoes from the hallway.

My wolf snarls, teeth bared, muscles coiling.

My senses flare—someone is coming, and they’re close.

Too close.

I press my back against Charles, shivering, tremors of raw desire and power flooding me.

Jude’s grip is firm, his presence a tether, but I know the danger is real.

My wolf screams—protect, strike, claim.

The room feels alive, electric, dangerous.

My power is leaking, my heat burning, my body pulsing with instincts I can barely control.

I am awake.

I am dangerous.

And now… someone has noticed.

The door creaks open, slow and deliberate, and a shadow slips inside.

My wolf growls, senses flaring, and I know the battle for my crown—and my body—is about to begin.
