Jessica’s POV

“Don’t touch me!” I hiss, stepping back as Charles closes the distance.

“You think you have a choice?” he growls low, his voice vibrating in my chest.

I glare at him, heat flooding through me, wolf clawing to break free.

I’m trembling, not just with desire, but with frustration, rage, and a pulse of power I’ve never felt before.

My body reacts against him even as my mind screams fight, fight, fight.

“You won’t own me,” I spit, chest heaving, fists tight at my sides.

Charles tilts his head, a smirk playing at the edge of his lips.

“We don’t ask.

We claim,” he says, each word dragging over my skin like fire.

His hand hovers over my arm, teasing, daring.

I step away, but it’s futile.

Every muscle in my body responds to him.

My wolf roars inside, whining, tugging me toward him, toward surrender—but my pride refuses.

“You feel it too, don’t you?” he murmurs, lowering his voice.

“This pull.

This hunger.”

“Yes,” I hiss, trying to tear my gaze away.

“But I will not kneel.”

He laughs softly, a deep, dark sound that rattles my bones.

“No one said anything about kneeling.” His fingers graze my shoulder, light but electrifying.

I shiver violently.

The heat inside me spikes, my body betraying my words, responding before I can think.

Jude’s voice cuts sharply through the tension.

“Step back, Charles.”

Charles freezes, gaze snapping to Jude.

“She is mine, Jude.

You know that.”

“She is not claimed yet,” Jude counters evenly, but I can hear the edge of warning in his voice.

My body reacts anyway, heat twisting, tension straining every nerve.

Charles ignores him, steps closer, and my breath catches. Get faster updates on g.com.

His hand presses lightly at the curve of my waist, and I shiver under the deliberate touch.

“You think you’re resisting,” he whispers, so close that his breath fans my ear.

“But your wolf knows differently.”

I shake my head violently.

“Stop… stop teasing me!” My words are desperate.

My legs threaten to give way.

My body pulses against the primal instincts clawing up from my core.

“You’ll learn,” Charles murmurs, his lips brushing the shell of my ear.

“I always get what I want.”

The heat inside me roars, and I can’t deny it—I’m trembling, hungry, and yes… drawn to him.

But I push back with everything I have, stamping the wolf inside me down, forcing my muscles to remember I still have a will.

“Not… not like this,” I gasp.

“I won’t be owned.”

Charles’ lips brush the side of my neck, teasing a predator testing his prey.

I fight against it, trembling, my fingers digging into my own arms.

My body pulses, desperate, and I feel something shatter inside me: desire, rage, defiance all mingling.

Jude came closer, his hands were firm on my shoulder.

“Breathe, Jessica.

Don’t let him—”

“He’s not the one in control,” I whisper fiercely, voice raw.

“I am.”

Charles chuckles low, pressing against me briefly before stepping back.

The smirk never leaves his face.

“For now,” he says, voice like silk and steel.

I stagger back, heart pounding, wolf still howling inside me.

My body aches, hungry, untamed, and my chest is tight with the heat that refuses to be ignored.

My legs shake, and I collapse onto the floor, gasping for breath.

Charles crouches beside me, fingers brushing my hair back from my face.

“See?” he murmurs, almost tenderly.

“You cannot hide from it.

You cannot run from what you are.”

I pull back my face, glare blazing.

He leans closer, lips nearly grazing mine.

“Control is not true, small wolf,” he whispers, with a low voice, low, seductive, and serious.

“Desire will always find you.”

Heat floods every nerve in my body.

I feel the pull of him, the magnetism, the undeniable hunger.

I tremble, caught between defiance and surrender, the wolf inside me screaming for freedom, for release, for dominance—but my mind screams louder: I won’t be owned.

Not yet.

Jude’s sharp breath hits my ear.

“Jessica, enough.

You know you can’t fight him completely.”

I close my eyes, teeth biting my lower lip.

My wolf howls, desperate, and my body burns with need I refuse to give.

Every nerve feels alive, tense, dangerous.

My breath comes in a ragged way.

Charles leans closer again, pressing gently, teasing, just enough to make me shiver violently.

“This is only the beginning,” he murmurs.

“Soon, you’ll learn that fighting me… is useless.”

I shudder violently at the words, legs trembling beneath me.

The heat inside me roars like wildfire.

I collapse fully into the floor, chest heaving, wolf howling, heart screaming, every nerve alive, every instinct awakened.

And I realize something terrifying.

Even if I resist, even if I fight, even if I scream I won’t be owned, my body already knows the truth: the wolf inside me, the primal pull, the magnetic force between us—has begun to bend me.

I am no longer just Jessica Russell.

I am something stronger.

Something dangerous.

Something the pack will fear.

And the worst part?

I like it.
