15 – Daily use or night use?
The question was thrown out like a timed bomb, instantly igniting the curiosity of the other students.
Many pairs of eyes in the audience were fixed on Xin Jushang, eagerly awaiting her answer.
“Second in the city.”
Xin Jushang’s four casual words immediately set the students below the stage into a frenzy.
Xue Yingying pressed on aggressively, continuing to interrogate: “Then why did you go to Third High?”
“Private matter, I refuse to answer.”
Xin Jushang coldly tossed out this sentence and then stepped off the stage.
Only then did everyone realize that this academic genius might not be as good-tempered as she appeared.
Xue Yingying awkwardly sat back down, her face still filled with unwillingness.
Hmph, so what if her grades are good? Once she takes off her mask, she’s just an ugly freak who can’t stand the light!
Soon, the National Day holiday arrived.
Xin Jushang spent one day finishing all the homework assigned by the school and spent the next few days immersed in solving her own competition problems.
“Sis, should we go to the supermarket? Mom said a lot of the sauces in the kitchen are almost used up.”
Xu Yinan knocked on Xin Jushang’s door and called out from outside.
Xin Jushang put away the pen in her hand, stood up, threw on a jacket, and opened the door.
“Let’s go.”
The siblings arrived at a large supermarket nearby. Xu Yinan pushed a shopping cart, and Xin Jushang walked alongside him.
Halfway through their shopping, Xin Jushang suddenly felt a sharp pain in her stomach. After letting Xu Yinan know, she went off alone to find a nearby restroom.
There was no restroom inside the supermarket, so Xin Jushang had to endure the pain and went to a large shopping mall next to the supermarket.
After searching for a long time, she finally found the restroom. Once inside, she realized that her period had come early.
But she didn’t have any emergency pads with her. The only option now was to go back to the supermarket next door and buy a pack of pads.
Just as Xin Jushang stepped out of the restroom, she ran straight into Zhou Yuchuan.
“Holy shit,” Zhou Yuchuan exclaimed, shocked to see that the person in front of him was his little deskmate whom he hadn’t seen in two days. “What are you doing here?”
His reaction was so intense, as if Xin Jushang shouldn’t be in the mall at all.
Xin Jushang wasn’t in the mood to deal with him. Just as she tried to step aside and walk past, Zhou Yuchuan tightly grabbed her wrist.
“Xin Jushang.”
He called her name.
“Has it only been a few days, and you’ve already forgotten me?”
Zhou Yuchuan sneered.
Only then did Xin Jushang look up, meeting Zhou Yuchuan’s teasing, long eyes.
“Zhou Yuchuan, you talk too much.”
Xin Jushang frowned. Her stomach suddenly ached sharply again, so she forcefully shook off Zhou Yuchuan’s hand and hurried away.
Seeing this, Zhou Yuchuan quickly chased after her, following Xin Jushang all the way to the supermarket next door.
And straight to the pad section.
Only then did Zhou Yuchuan belatedly realize what was going on. But his following had already been noticed by Xin Jushang. Holding a pack of pads, Xin Jushang looked at Zhou Yuchuan expressionlessly: “Do you want day pads or night pads? Do you need me to recommend some? Oh, right, if your flow is heavy, I suggest you also buy some period panties.”
Zhou Yuchuan realized that his little deskmate’s mouth could sometimes be exceptionally sharp, and her mental fortitude was unusually strong.
Even though he was so embarrassed his face was red, Xin Jushang remained calm and composed, seriously recommending pads to him.
At that moment, he glanced out of the corner of his eye and, as if spotting a savior, pointed excitedly at a young boy and girl not far away, tattling to Xin Jushang: “Xin Jushang, isn’t that your brother? There’s a girl standing next to him!”
Zhou Yuchuan felt he was the embodiment of justice at that moment.
Xin Jushang followed the direction Zhou Yuchuan pointed and indeed saw her younger brother Xu Yinan standing with a girl.
But the more she looked at the girl beside Xu Yinan, the more familiar she seemed…
Xin Jushang frowned slightly.
It wasn’t until the girl turned around that Xin Jushang recognized who it was.
She hurried over, wanting to figure out what was going on. How had Xu Zhiyan ended up with Xu Yinan after she had only been gone for a short while?
This wasn’t normal.
Seeing Xin Jushang suddenly appear, Xu Zhiyan was visibly startled. But she quickly regained her usual cheerful demeanor, casually throwing an arm around Xin Jushang’s shoulder and trying hard to cover up her earlier guilt: “Oh, Jushang, I was just shopping at the supermarket with my mom when I suddenly saw your brother, so I came over to say hello…”
And then she had been “saying hello” for nearly half an hour.
Xin Jushang turned to look at Xu Yinan, trying hard to read any clues from her brother’s face.
Before she could even start questioning him, Xu Yinan honestly confessed all of Xu Zhiyan’s “crimes”—
“Sis, this big sister saw me and started following me around, saying she wanted to wait with me until you came back…”
Beside them, Xu Zhiyan’s face darkened:…
“Kid, why are you calling me ‘big sister’? I’m only two grades ahead of you, it’s not that big of a difference, right?”
Xu Zhiyan felt uncomfortable all over from being called “big sister” by Xu Yinan.
“But you’re already in high school, and I’m still just a middle schooler.”
“You’ll be in high school next year, won’t you? Stop acting so young!”
…
Xin Jushang didn’t have time to watch the commotion here; her urgent matter still hadn’t been resolved. So, holding the pack of sanitary pads in her hand, she quickly headed to the checkout counter.
When she came out of the mall restroom again, she ran into Zhou Yuchuan once more.
He was holding a cup of hot drink, his hair slightly messy as if he had just rushed to buy it.
“Here.”
Zhou Yuchuan forcefully handed the hot drink to Xin Jushang, not giving her a chance to refuse.
The two walked out of the mall one after the other. The sunlight outside was just right, stretching their shadows long and thin.
As they walked, Zhou Yuchuan suddenly called out to Xin Jushang, who was ahead of him: “Xin Jushang.”
Xin Jushang turned around, still holding the warm cup of hot drink.
The boy looked at her steadily, a slight curve forming at the corner of his lips—
“I’ll allow you to pursue me.”
Xin Jushang rolled her eyes, then turned and hurried forward, not wanting to pay any attention to Zhou Yuchuan, the narcissist.
Zhou Yuchuan was taken aback. He couldn’t understand why Xin Jushang’s reaction wasn’t what he had imagined.
Why didn’t she look happy at all…? Instead, he could see a hint of exasperation in Xin Jushang’s eyes?
This didn’t make sense.
Zhou Yuchuan jogged to catch up with Xin Jushang, arguing his case, “I know you’re very insecure about your looks, but I’m not the shallow type who only cares about appearance…”
Before he could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by Xu Yinan, who suddenly rushed over.
“Sis!”
Xu Yinan waved while running toward Xin Jushang, carrying a large bag of items.
Upon seeing Zhou Yuchuan, Xu Yinan clearly showed displeasure, glaring fiercely at him: “Can’t you stop clinging to my sister like a sticky plaster? There are plenty of people pursuing her—my sister would never like you!”
Zhou Yuchuan: ?
How come he didn’t know that his deskmate had so many admirers?
