Hermione Blocks the Monster as Blake Shows His Power
Any young wizard who has experienced an accidental surge of magic could potentially alter the shape of an object under the right circumstances.
Blake took a deep breath and prepared to make his move.
But just then, Hermione suddenly rushed in front of him.
“You leave first! I’ll deal with this monster!”
“Huh?”
Blake stared at Hermione standing in front of him, completely dumbfounded.
Wait…
Hadn’t something gone wrong with the way things were developing?
“Just listen to me…”
The moment Blake opened his mouth, Hermione hurriedly interrupted him.
“You don’t understand! This isn’t an ordinary beast. It’s a magical creature!”
“You’re just a Muggle. A Muggle can’t possibly deal with it!”
“I… actually…”
“So I’m the only one who might be able to hold it back…”
Blake quickly noticed that although Hermione’s voice sounded firm, her two little legs were trembling slightly the entire time.
She also had a slender wooden stick in her hand.
It was a wand.
“At your current level, you can’t stop it.”
Blake spoke softly.
“Let me handle it.”
“You’re just a Muggle. What use would you be if you stayed? Leave quickly!”
“I… I’m not sure how long I can hold out either…”
Hermione raised her trembling wand and pointed it toward the area ahead where there seemed to be nothing at all.
The Hidebehind might have suffered at the hands of wizards in the past.
So when it saw the wand, it actually stopped its charge.
But Hermione hadn’t even entered Hogwarts yet. Visit g.com for the full chapter.
She had indeed read many books introducing the magical world and had even memorized the first-year textbooks thoroughly in advance.
The problem was that there weren’t many combat spells in the first-year textbooks.
Hermione held her wand up and thought for a long time, but she couldn’t come up with a single useful spell.
Instead, she could immediately think of plenty of everyday spells for cleaning, lighting, and other simple tasks.
And so, a witch and an invisible monster found themselves locked in a standoff.
Blake watched with a speechless expression.
What kind of situation was this?
The next second, he suddenly reached out and shoved Hermione hard.
Hermione had already been extremely tense and was completely unprepared.
She immediately fell onto the ground beside them.
“Hey! Why did you…”
Hermione angrily raised her head, about to question Blake, when the spot where she had been standing suddenly exploded into a cloud of dust.
From the movement, it looked as though something enormous had charged straight through that spot!
Hermione looked at Blake, still shaken.
The anger that had just risen within her was quickly overwhelmed by fear.
If Blake hadn’t pushed her away, she might have been hit head-on by the monster!
“What a shame.”
Blake looked unhappily toward the direction from which the Hidebehind had charged.
Hermione had clearly become angry with him after being knocked down just now.
But before the system had time to extract a chest, her emotions had already turned into fear of the Hidebehind.
So naturally, he couldn’t draw a reward.
“I’ll handle it from here.”
Blake spoke calmly.
“I don’t know what you mean by Muggle, but I have a way to deal with it.”
Hermione still wanted to persuade him, but in the next second, her eyes widened again.
Under her incredulous gaze, the grains of sand and soil on the ground began rising into the air one by one.
More and more dust gathered around Blake, slowly circling him as though guided by an invisible force.
“So… you’re a wizard too?”
[Ding! Detected an emotion of shock.]
[Ding! Chest extraction unsuccessful.]
Blake gave Hermione a strange look, as though he didn’t quite understand the word “wizard.”
Seeing his reaction, Hermione became even more confused.
“Doesn’t he even know what a wizard is?”
“Could he be like me before, only realizing that he has magic now?”
But Hermione didn’t know that Blake’s expression wasn’t because he didn’t know he was a wizard.
What he truly couldn’t understand was why Hermione hadn’t dropped a chest for him this time!
The system’s probability was ridiculously low!
Blake stopped paying attention to Hermione and shifted his focus back to the Hidebehind.
“Spread.”
He softly uttered two words.
The dust gathered around him immediately scattered in all directions!
Hermione had absolutely no idea what he was trying to accomplish.
Even if Blake was a wizard, he was about the same age as her.
How could he possibly defeat such a dangerous creature?
Besides, even if he could make dust float into the air, what effect could that possibly have?
Was the monster perhaps a clean freak that would run away the moment it saw a cloud of dust?
While Hermione was wildly guessing at the possibilities, Blake’s true purpose finally became clear.
