Dust Reveals the Invisible Monster, and Ground Spikes Injure It
After the dust spread out and flew about five meters ahead, it adhered to some transparent object.
Soon, the outline of a tall monster appeared in the air!
“Found you!”
A smile appeared on Blake’s face.
When the dust touched the Hidebehind’s body, his magic firmly fixed it in place.
Although the Hidebehind could make its body transparent, it couldn’t make the dust attached to its skin disappear along with it.
This rendered its invisibility useless.
Hermione stared in surprise at its gradually becoming clearer outline.
“Using dust to mark its location?”
“Magic can actually be used like this?”
Only now did she understand why Blake had stirred up the cloud of dust.
“But what spell is this?”
Hermione quickly recalled the contents of the textbooks she had memorized in advance, but she couldn’t think of a single spell capable of fixing dust onto the monster’s body.
Because a large amount of dust had blown into its face, the Hidebehind let out two loud sneezes in succession.
It glared fiercely at Blake, its mood becoming extremely agitated.
Clearly, Blake’s method of toying with it had completely enraged it.
“Boom!”
The Hidebehind charged again!
Because the dust was stuck to its body, Hermione could also clearly see its outline as it moved.
The enormous creature rushed toward Blake at tremendous speed.
If this continued and Blake failed to dodge in time, he would definitely be knocked to the ground.
Even if he survived by sheer luck, he would certainly suffer serious injuries!
“Dodge!”
Hermione warned him anxiously.
But Blake remained standing there without moving an inch.
He simply raised his right hand slowly.
“Come forth.”
The instant he spoke, a cracking sound came from the ground. Find the original chapter at novelping.com.
“Crack!”
Along the Hidebehind’s path, dozens of thick, sharp spikes burst out from beneath the earth!
The Hidebehind hadn’t anticipated this move at all.
It was moving too quickly and had no time to stop.
Its right foot landed directly on one of the spikes!
“Roar!”
Its scream echoed through the sky!
The sharp stone spike pierced through the sole of the Hidebehind’s foot, forcibly penetrating the entire right foot.
The intense pain made it impossible for the creature to maintain its concentration, and even its invisibility slipped out of control.
“How is this possible…”
Hermione sat beside him, staring blankly at what had just happened, so stunned that she had even forgotten to stand up.
She had thought Blake was so frightened that he couldn’t move.
Who could have imagined that with nothing more than a raise of his hand, he would inflict such serious damage on that terrifying monster?
“What kind of magic is this?”
Hermione murmured to herself.
Once its invisibility was dispelled, the Hidebehind’s vicious, distorted face was exposed to both of them.
When Hermione saw its appearance, her fear rose another level.
No matter how brave she was, she was still only eleven years old.
After encountering a man-eating monster like this, there was no way she could remain as calm as Blake, who possessed the memories of his previous life.
The Hidebehind grabbed the stone spike that had pierced through its foot and forcibly pulled it out.
Then, dragging its injured right leg, it limped back to its feet.
From this moment onward, even its greatest advantage, its speed, had been crippled by Blake.
Blake remained expressionless, completely unsurprised.
He hadn’t run away earlier because he was incapable of creating ground spikes.
With insufficient magic, the stone spikes created through Transfiguration wouldn’t have been strong enough to pierce the Hidebehind’s tough body.
So continuing the fight back then would have been meaningless.
But the situation was completely different now.
After being strengthened by the Gandalf Template, his magical reserves had increased considerably, and his ability to control magic had also become much stronger.
Naturally, the ground spikes created through Transfiguration had also gained enough hardness to injure the Hidebehind.
The Hidebehind stared intently at Blake.
Apart from anger, there was now obvious wariness in its eyes.
This magical creature wasn’t stupid.
In fact, it was quite intelligent.
At first, it had thought that the two humans in front of it were merely children and posed no danger.
But after being injured, it had no choice but to reassess Blake’s strength.
It had already begun to feel like retreating.
Yet the thought of leaving empty-handed made it extremely unwilling.
Besides, the creatures in front of it were clearly just two children.
How could such weak prey possibly pose a threat to it?
The Hidebehind quickly found an explanation for its earlier failure.
It decided that it had been injured because it had been too careless and accidentally stepped on the ground spike.
That could only prove that it had been unlucky.
It didn’t prove that Blake was actually powerful.
The more it thought about it, the more reasonable this explanation seemed.
The wariness it had initially felt gradually disappeared under its own self-reassurance.
When Blake saw the ferocity return to its eyes, he could only shake his head.
“Are you really that eager to die?”
“Rumble!”
The Hidebehind charged toward him again!
This time, however, it devoted most of its attention to watching where it stepped.
