An Invisible Monster Ambushes Blake

If Blake had been even a moment slower, he would have been pinned to the ground by now.

Blake immediately rolled to his feet, his gaze falling on the fresh crater in the ground.

Then, the air ahead of him seemed to be covered by a transparent sheet of fabric.

As the covering was gradually peeled away, a monster unlike anything he had ever seen appeared within.

It had silvery-white fur, and its appearance resembled that of a relatively lean bear.

However, it was clearly much taller than an ordinary bear and could even stand and walk on two legs like an ape.

The monster looked at Blake with an almost ravenous gaze, as though it were staring at a plump chicken that had been roasted to perfection.

It remained visible for only a brief moment.

Immediately afterward, its entire body disappeared before Blake’s eyes.

The monster had returned to its invisible state.

Only now did Blake become completely certain.

What had attacked him was no ordinary beast.

He had encountered a genuine magical creature!

Then he suddenly remembered the bloodstained leaf he had casually thrown away.

In an instant, he understood why the monster had appeared…

“Boom! Boom! Boom!”

The ground began trembling with deep, muffled thuds once again!

There was no need to think about it.

That monster had already chased him here!

Yet there was not the slightest trace of nervousness on Blake’s face.

He raised his hand, and the magic he had been accumulating inside his body for so long surged outward!

The large trees on both sides immediately began leaning toward the center.

Dense branches rapidly grew and changed shape.

In the blink of an eye, they transformed into numerous long, sturdy vines. You are reading on g.com, the official source.

The vines intertwined with one another, forming a thick net of barriers in front of Blake!

“Whoosh!”

The invisible creature still charged straight into it!

Angry roars immediately erupted from within the vine net.

But before long, a series of sounds that made Blake’s heart tighten rang out.

“Crack! Crack! Crack!”

One vine after another was forcibly torn apart!

This net alone was not enough to restrain that incredibly powerful creature.

But Blake had never intended to trap it completely.

As long as he could delay it for a little while, that was enough!

The more vines there were, the longer it would take the monster to break free.

During that time, Blake could widen the distance between them.

It wasn’t that he was naturally fond of running away.

The problem was that he was still too young.

His ability to control magic was already more than sufficient, but the amount of magic he could store inside his body was far from enough.

Faced with such an enormous magical creature, he had no confidence that he could defeat it head-on.

“If only I had a little more magic…”

Blake felt somewhat helpless, but he did not stop casting.

The treetops all around him swayed.

More branches transformed into vines under the influence of magic, rapidly hanging down from the trees and wrapping themselves around the violently struggling mass of vines!

However, as he continued casting, Blake quickly noticed that his body was rapidly losing strength.

A wizard’s magical reserves were closely tied to their physical condition.

The fatigue and weakness he was experiencing now were precisely the result of losing a large amount of magic.

Blake did not stay any longer.

Once he confirmed that the monster had been wrapped so tightly in layer after layer of vines that not even a gap remained, he immediately stopped and turned to run out of the woods.

Hermione stood ahead, her eyes wide as she stared at the enormous object wrapped in vines, still thrashing and roaring furiously.

“What exactly is that…”

Before Hermione could finish speaking, Blake ran past her.

“If you don’t want to die, run!”

“There’s a huge tiger behind us!”

Blake shouted at her while running.

Hermione froze in place.

“A tiger? How could a tiger possibly appear here?”

But Blake was running very quickly, and his expression didn’t look like he was lying.

After hesitating for a moment, Hermione still broke into a run and followed him.

“What exactly happened?”

The situation had changed so quickly that she hadn’t had time to clearly see what was trapped inside the vines.

But that ferocious roar was clearly not something an ordinary animal could produce.

Even if it wasn’t a tiger, it was most likely some kind of dangerous predator.

So Hermione didn’t dare relax as she ran.

Yet her mind was already filled with all kinds of questions.

Leaving aside what exactly had been trapped, why had Blake come to this forest in the first place?

Where had those moving vines come from?

Even if there really was a “tiger” in the woods, why were so many plants wrapped around it?

When Blake realized that Hermione had finally caught up, he breathed a sigh of relief.

He had deliberately called it a tiger because he wanted Hermione to leave as quickly as possible.

Otherwise, with Hermione’s curiosity, there was no telling whether she might have run over to take a look.
