1991, London, England.
After returning home, Wade Morea carried the fresh ingredients he had bought from the market into the kitchen.
He was planning to prepare a lavish meal to celebrate his eleventh birthday when a loud series of knocks echoed against the window.
Knock!
Knock!
Knock!
Walking over, he found a gray owl relentlessly pecking at the glass.
Even more surprising, one of its talons held a letter.
A letter?
For me?
Someone actually wrote to me?
Filled with curiosity, Wade opened the window.
The owl flew inside, hovered above his head, released the envelope, and it drifted neatly into his hands.
The envelope was made of yellow parchment.
There was no postage stamp on the front.
Instead, a purple wax seal in the shape of a shield sat proudly in the center, bearing a large letter H.
The shield was divided into four quadrants with backgrounds of red, green, yellow, and blue.
A golden lion occupied the upper left, a silver serpent the upper right, a black badger the lower left, and a bronze eagle the lower right.
On the back, his full name and address were written in emerald-green ink.
Wade stared blankly at the envelope as memories long buried in the depths of his mind resurfaced.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry?
It can’t possibly be…
Wait…
if this is real, then that means…
He pressed his lips together.
With a slight flick of his finger, the envelope floated into the air and opened itself.
This was magic—not merely another application of spirituality.
As the parchment slowly unfolded, Wade couldn’t help feeling that fate had played a rather cruel joke on him.
Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry Headmaster: Albus Dumbledore (Order of Merlin, First Class; Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards; Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot) Dear Mr.
Morea, We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on the 1st of September.
We await your owl by no later than the 31st of July.
Yours sincerely, Professor Minerva McGonagall Deputy Headmistress The first page was the admission letter.
The second contained the list of first-year uniforms, textbooks, and other required supplies.
“Hoot!” The gray owl flapped its wings a few times, urging Wade to look its way.
“Right…
I need to send a reply.” “Give me a moment.” Leaving the kitchen, Wade returned half a minute later carrying paper and a pen.
Dear Professor Dumbledore, I have received your letter and am delighted to have the opportunity to study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
However, I do not know where Hogwarts is located, nor do I know where to purchase the required uniforms, books, and equipment.
If possible, could you please arrange for someone to guide me?
Wade Morea After folding and sealing the letter, Wade handed it to the owl.
Grasping the envelope in its talons, the owl took flight and disappeared into the distance.
His enthusiasm for cooking had completely vanished.
Instead, he sat quietly on the living room sofa, gazing at the Hogwarts acceptance letter in silence.
A wonderful birthday present.
What an unexpected surprise.
Eleven years ago, he had been reborn into this unfamiliar city.
His parents had died, leaving him to grow up in an orphanage.
Although the inheritance they left behind wasn’t particularly large, it included a modest house.
Once he was capable of taking care of himself, his unusually mature behavior allowed him to leave the orphanage and move back into the home that legally belonged to him.
Of course, a child couldn’t simply live off his inheritance forever and expect to grow up safely and comfortably.
Fortunately, he had brought something with him into this world— A Blasphemy Card of the Seer Pathway.
From Sequence 9 to Sequence 0, one gradually evolved from an ordinary human into a Beyonder, then a Saint, an Angel, and finally a God.
Even more fortunate, everything he had learned over the years suggested that this world contained no true gods, no Outer Deities watching from beyond reality, no maddening whispers, and no approaching apocalypse.
For reasons he still couldn’t explain, he had been born as a Sequence 9 Seer, possessing the Beyonder abilities of the Seer Pathway from birth.
1 He had mastered astrology, card divination, pendulum divination, Spirit Vision, and similar forms of fortune-telling.
3 He could “see” objects hidden behind obstacles and “hear” faint footsteps, allowing him to make judgments ahead of time, though his eyesight, hearing, and sense of touch themselves hadn’t become significantly stronger.
Divination wasn’t exactly a lucrative profession.
But it certainly wasn’t impossible to make money with it.
For example, whenever he bought lottery tickets, he won more often than he lost.
Although the odds of literally finding money on the street were low, divination could point him in the right direction.
Every now and then, he even played the role of a mysterious fortune teller, offering advice to doctors and patients alike.
After several years of this, not only had he avoided exhausting his inheritance, but he had multiplied his wealth more than tenfold.
Life had treated him rather well.
The Seer Pathway, however, lacked direct combat abilities.
Compared with ordinary people, its advantage in battle was minimal.
But Wade was different.
Besides the powers of a Seer, he also possessed telekinesis, allowing him to move objects with nothing but his thoughts.
It wasn’t overwhelmingly powerful, but it gave him at least some means of protecting himself.
Although a child living in a civilized society governed by law and morality rarely faced life-threatening danger without deliberately seeking trouble, telekinesis still granted him a reassuring sense of security.
Every use of the ability consumed his spirituality.
Now, however, it seemed the energy being depleted wasn’t solely a Beyonder’s spirituality, but rather a combination of a wizard’s magic and spirituality.
That was both good news and bad news.
The good news was that his control over magical power far surpassed that of ordinary wizards.
The bad news was that the strength of his magic was now completely tied to his Sequence.
A Sequence 9 Seer possessed magical power roughly equivalent to that of a first-year Hogwarts student.
Even simple spells could drain him after only a dozen casts.
In the wizarding world, that placed him squarely among the lowest cannon fodder—someone who could be wiped out by almost any competent wizard with a single spell.
There was even worse news.
The Blasphemy Card fused with his soul had remained completely motionless for eleven years.
Its pages had never advanced beyond Sequence 9.
In other words, unless something unexpected happened, he would never have the opportunity to advance to a higher Sequence for the rest of his life.
3 But this Hogwarts acceptance letter had given him hope.
The inspiration that had lain dormant within him for eleven long years had trembled ever so slightly the instant he touched the envelope.
That unmistakable reaction was a sign.
Living comfortably as a wealthy man and spending the rest of his life in peace certainly wasn’t a bad future.
But becoming a wizard…
Or even a god…
Now that was a far more exciting possibility.
A smile slowly spread across Wade’s face.
He stood and walked toward the full-length mirror.
comment His black, slightly tousled hair, pale blue eyes, and handsome features looked no different from usual.
Only one thing had changed.
His eyes now shone with unmistakable anticipation.
