The ridge was a serrated knife-edge against a bruised twilight sky.

Below, in the shallow basin, firelight writhed.

Thirty men, maybe more.Full novel: Holy Fertility System: The Sower Of Sacred Seeds — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Their dark camp was a cancer on the land.

The sour tang of burned earth and unwashed bodies drifted up to them.

At the center, arranged in a crooked star, were five iron cages.

The shapes inside were still.

Beyond them, a figure in ragged black robes traced symbols in the air with a bone-white knife.

Where the knife passed, the very light seemed to curdle.

“Shade-Tender,” Seraphina whispered, her violet eyes hard as amethyst chips.

“He is not just bleeding the land.

He is stitching its death into a ritual.

Those captives are anchors.” Ysara’s hand was a white-knuckled fist on her axe haft.

The new scar on her thigh pulled tight.

“We go now.

Straight down the scree slope.

Cause a fucking avalanche of noise.

They’ll cluster.

We kill the cluster.” “And die splendidly in the process,” Lyriss murmured from where she lay flat on the rock, her gaze fixed below.

“Thirty against five, and one of those five is a priest who makes your balls shrivel just looking at him.

Brilliant.” “We are not five,” Velora said, her voice the soft rustle of leaves.

Her fingers were splayed in the thin soil of the ridge.

“The land is my ally.

It whispers of their filth.

It hungers to cleanse.” “The land is slow,” Ysara shot back.

“By the time your roots get there, those cages will be full of corpses.” Kaelen felt it all—the seething anger from Ysara, the cool calculus from Lyriss, the deep, patient wrath of the earth through Velora, and Seraphina’s luminous, focused outrage.

They were a storm contained in four bodies, and the glitched system in his chest was the lightning rod.

It buzzed, overloaded, feeding on their conflicting energies.

A pressure built behind his eyes, a static scream.

He needed to act, to pour this energy somewhere before it cracked his skull open.

“We need a distraction and a precision strike,” Seraphina reasoned, her tone trying to weave order from chaos.

“Lyriss and I can approach from the eastern shadow.

Velora can seed the western perimeter with grasping thorns.

Ysara, you and Kaelen wait for the alarm to be raised, then strike the ritual circle.” “Wait?” Ysara laughed, a harsh bark.

“You want me to wait while that thing cuts open some starving woman’s palm to feed its magic?

Fuck your patience.” “Your recklessness will get them killed!” Seraphina’s composure snapped, her voice sharp.

“Your caution is just a slower knife!” The argument escalated, voices climbing, cutting over one another.

The system’s feedback shrieked in Kaelen’s veins.

His vision pulsed with golden light.

He could feel the bonds stretching, threatening to snap from the strain.

“Enough!” he growled, but it was lost in the noise.

A hand closed around his wrist.

It was Lyriss.

Her emerald eyes were narrowed, not with anger, but with a sharp understanding.

She gave a sharp tug.

“Come on.

You’re about to glow like a fucking beacon.” She pulled him away from the argument, behind a jagged outcropping of rock that smelled of dust and cool stone.

The sounds of the dispute faded to muffled echoes.

“You need to calm the fuck down,” she hissed, pushing him against the rock.

Her hands went to his belt.

“I can feel you buzzing from here.

You’re going to blow, and not in the fun way.” “Lyriss, this isn’t the time—” “It’s exactly the time.” Her fingers made quick work of the laces.

“This is the ritual.

Your system is the engine.

We’re just the conduits.

And right now, you’re flooding the pipes.” She yanked his trousers down just enough, his cock already stiff from the adrenaline and system surge.

The cool evening air was a shock against his heated flesh.

She dropped to her knees in the gravel without another word.

She didn’t tease.

She took him into her mouth with a brutal, hungry urgency.

It was nothing like before.

This was purely functional, a pressure valve being opened.

Her lips stretched tight around his girth.

Her head bobbed with a ruthless, mechanical rhythm.

She used her tongue like a weapon, flat and demanding against the sensitive underside of his shaft.

One hand gripped the base of his cock, working him in tandem with her mouth, while the other cupped his balls, squeezing gently, then harder.

The sensations were too much, too direct.

The overwhelmed static in his mind coalesced into a single, white-hot point of pleasure.

He tangled a hand in her raven-black hair, not guiding, just holding on.

A groan tore from his throat, echoing slightly in the stone alcove.

She deep-throated him, taking him all the way until his tip hit the back of her throat.

She held it, her eyes watering, then pulled back with a wet, popping sound.

“That’s it,” she rasped, a string of saliva connecting her lip to his crown.

“Dump it.

Dump that frantic, holy light right down my throat.” She dove back down.

Her pace was relentless.

The suction was incredible, a smooth, wet slide into tight, impossible heat.

He could feel the coil in his gut winding tighter, tighter.

The world narrowed to the sight of her head moving in his shadow, the sound of slick, filthy noise, the feel of her throat convulsing around him.

“I’m… Lyriss…” She redoubled her efforts, a low hum vibrating through his cock.

That was it.

The knot broke.

He came with a choked shout, hips jerking forward.

She took it, drinking him down in greedy gulps, her throat working around each pulse.

She didn’t spill a drop.

When he was spent, she pulled off slowly, licking him clean with broad, deliberate strokes of her tongue before tucking him away and re-lacing his trousers with swift efficiency.

She stood, wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.

The wild energy in her eyes had settled into a grim, satisfied focus.

The frantic buzzing in Kaelen’s skull was gone, replaced by a clear, cold calm.

The bonds in his chest hummed steadily, powerfully aligned.

“See?” she said, her voice rough.

“Thinking clearer now?” He was.

The plan formed in his mind, not as a compromise, but as a synthesis.

He saw it.

“We don’t choose one approach.

We do all of them at once.” They returned to the others.

The argument died instantly.

All three women looked at him, and then at Lyriss.

Understanding flashed in their eyes—Seraphina’s slight tightening of her lips, Ysara’s grunt of acknowledgment, Velora’s slow blink.

The energy between them had shifted, synchronized.

“Ysara,” Kaelen said, his voice steady.

“You get your frontal assault.

Charge the main line of tents.

Be loud.

Be a fucking disaster.” A fierce grin split Ysara’s face.

“Velora.

The land hungers?

Let it eat.

Don’t wait for them to come to you.

Send the roots and thorns up through their campfloor now.

Target the cage guards first.” Velora nodded, a slow, terrible smile gracing her lips as she sank her hands fully into the earth.

“Seraphina.

You and I go for the Shade-Tender.

Your light to unravel his shadows.

My blessing to… overload his ritual from the inside.” Seraphina inclined her head, a soldier accepting a command.

“Lyriss.” He turned to her.

“While everyone is looking at the dwarf, the trees, and the light show… you get those cage doors open.” Lyriss gave a mock salute, her fingers brushing the many lockpicks tucked in her bracer.

“Finally, someone speaks my language.” There was no more discussion.

They moved.

Ysara went first, a stocky, red-haired comet hurtling down the loose scree slope with a roar that ripped through the twilight.

Axes flashed.

Alarms were shouted.

As torches swung toward the chaos, the ground inside the camp itself began to quiver.

Thick, woody vines erupted from the hard-packed dirt, seizing ankles, snapping legs, pulling men screaming into sudden, blooming pits of thorns.

Seraphina’s form began to glow with a soft, silver radiance.

She met Kaelen’s eyes, and together they started down a more sheltered path, a direct line to the now-startled Shade-Tender, who turned from his altar, his bone knife gleaming.

And Lyriss simply melted into the deepening shadows, a ghost heading straight for the cages.

The system surged within Kaelen, not as a cacophony, but as a chord—four distinct notes played in perfect, deadly harmony.

They descended into the firelit hell, each step in time.

The End.
