[Ding-a-ling!

Your simulation attempt has been restored.

Host, please begin a simulation promptly.] Ling Yi, who was expertly cracking eggs into a frying pan, heard the system’s notification.Full novel: Honkai, but I’m Their Other Personality — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

‘Huh…

Has it already been ten days since I met Kiana?

Time passes so quickly.’ The smell of cooking oil drifted through the air.

The instant Ling Yi became distracted, the egg in the frying pan inexplicably caught fire.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa!” In a fluster, Ling Yi scooped the egg into the sink.

After putting out the fire, she washed the pan again.

How strange.

This had happened more than once or twice.

Ten days had passed since she met Kiana.

During those ten days, Ling Yi had instinctively taken responsibility for helping Kiana manage her daily affairs, while Kiana happily enjoyed being looked after.

Sometimes, Ling Yi truly felt less like Kiana’s second personality and more like her mother.

In a mere ten days, Kiana had completely regressed into the Paramecium Ling Yi remembered, placing the responsibility of serving as her external brain squarely on Ling Yi’s shoulders.

In other words, Ling Yi was now Kiana’s built-in external brain.

Ling Yi had grown accustomed to it.

She could help Kiana with most everyday matters.

The problem now was…

cooking.

Just like before, the slightest lapse in attention would cause all sorts of accidents in the kitchen.

The pan inexplicably bursting into flames was practically routine.

Once, even though there wasn’t any sugar at home, the salt inside the salt shaker turned into sugar the instant Ling Yi opened it…

She had no idea how that worked.

Nothing like this had ever happened when she cooked using Mobius’s body.

Could the Kaslana Family truly be cursed?

After lighting the stove again, Ling Yi took a deep breath.

Nothing would go wrong this time!

Once breakfast was ready, she placed it on the dining table and said softly, “Time to eat.” [Coming!] Kiana, who had been dozing in the consciousness space, immediately seized control of her body when she heard Ling Yi and began wolfing down the food.

[Slow down.

No one’s going to take it from you.] Ling Yi was amused.

Kiana was never more enthusiastic than when food was involved.

“Mmm, mmm…

Ling Yi’s cooking is so delicious.

I love your food more than anything.” Kiana answered indistinctly while biting into her toast, twisting her waist and stretching to gradually shake off her drowsiness.

[There’s no rush.

Finish eating, then go to school.] Ling Yi smiled as she watched Kiana devour her food.

This was why she liked cooking for Kiana.

Kiana made her feel incredibly appreciated.

Just hearing a couple of compliments was enough to wash away an entire day’s exhaustion.

And so…

the time had come!

Ling Yi’s simulation cooldown was over, and her energy had reached its peak.

Everything was ready.

As she sat in the consciousness space, a transparent panel appeared beside her hand.

It was time to simulate!

She might be able to revive endlessly now, but she still lacked offensive abilities.

When she took control of Kiana’s body in battle, she might not even fight as well as Kiana herself…

As a qualified second personality, Ling Yi couldn’t accept that.

When the Third Honkai Eruption happened in the future, she couldn’t let Kiana flee for her life again, only to end up gravely wounded by a Chariot-class Honkai Beast.

Bronya’s presence here already proved that the plot had changed.

To be safe, Ling Yi needed more power.

To put it dramatically…

Ling Yi also wanted to experience being told, “Please, my other self,” someday.

It also felt wonderful to meet new friends during the simulations.

Ling Yi looked forward to discovering who she would meet in the next one.

[Attention.

The simulation is about to begin.] [Note: This is the second simulation.

Talents will no longer be selected automatically for the Host.

Please choose one of the following three talents before entering the simulation.] [I See You (Actively displays the simulation progress bar) (Selected last time)] [Consciousness Domain (The Host’s host will be able to directly sense everything within the consciousness space)] [I Am Not Really You (When the Host controls the Host’s host’s body, their appearance will change)] Ling Yi studied the three talents and quickly eliminated the first.

Although the progress bar allowed Ling Yi to know exactly when the simulation would end, the process was simply too painful for both sides.

Experiencing that pain once was more than enough.

Ling Yi had had enough of it.

Hmm…

She would have to carefully weigh the second and third options.

A single glance at the third talent was enough to imagine many uses for it.

She could use it to help the person she was simulating do things that couldn’t be brought to light.

It seemed like a good choice.

However, the second talent would allow her to interact with the person she was simulating.

If they could directly sense everything within the consciousness space, they would also be able to sense Ling Yi.

That meant Ling Yi could finally make contact with her host.

Whether she was inside Mobius’s body or Kiana’s, only Ling Yi could touch them within the consciousness space.

They couldn’t touch her.

Mobius was the perfect example.

She had researched the domain of consciousness for so long, yet ultimately failed to confine Ling Yi because she had no means of reaching her.

After repeatedly hesitating, Ling Yi chose [Consciousness Domain] as her talent.

The main objective of a simulation wasn’t how much she accomplished, but how much she did to fulfill her host’s needs.

She could conceal her identity with a disguise, but allowing her host to sense her existence wasn’t something she could accomplish on her own.

From that perspective, the second talent was the best choice.

[Talent selected: Consciousness Domain.] Whoosh— Her surroundings suddenly plunged into darkness, and a familiar red button appeared before Ling Yi once more.

The button was roughly the size of her palm.

Its surface was completely unadorned, and it simply floated silently before her.

Ling Yi felt a little emotional as she gazed at it.

After pressing the button last time, she had met Mobius.

Who would she meet after pressing it this time?

No matter who it was, Ling Yi needed to gain enough power to protect herself during the Third Honkai Eruption.

After letting out a sigh, Ling Yi stopped hesitating and pressed the button before her.

Everything in the real world froze as if someone had pressed the pause button, while Ling Yi vanished from the consciousness space.
