The Honkai World
“Huh?”
In Nagazora, Kiana, who was on night watch, suddenly felt like the room door had been opened.
But when she looked, the door was still shut tight.
Soon after, though, she noticed that the outside had become much quieter.
Kiana quietly peered out the window, but she couldn’t find a single trace of zombies or Honkai beasts.
“Weird,”
She muttered, scratching her head in confusion.
Staring out at the night sky, Kiana eventually drifted off to sleep.
The Next Day
“Bronya, where did you go yesterday?”
Raiden Mei asked, looking puzzled.
Right now, Bronya looked completely exhausted, as if she had stayed up incredibly late.
“Mmh, nowhere…”
Bronya shook her head sleepily.
She hadn’t been on night watch, so she had gone to bed pretty early.
Yet, she still felt incredibly tired, and her body felt sluggish.
“Wasn’t Kiana on night watch yesterday?”
She suddenly turned her head to look at the fast-asleep Kiana.
Bronya felt a bit annoyed.
She was feeling this exhausted in the morning, yet Kiana was sleeping like a baby.
“She was.
I remember she was awake when I went to sleep,”
Mei said, feeling a bit helpless.
She remembered Kiana volunteering to take the second half of the night watch, so Mei had gone to sleep early.
When Mei’s shift ended, Kiana was wide awake and energetic, but she hadn’t expected Kiana to fall asleep too.
There were so many zombies and Honkai beasts outside.
Why didn’t Kiana wake her or Bronya up?
If something had happened, it would have been extremely dangerous.
Thinking of this, Mei had no choice but to shake Kiana.
“Mmh…
Mei…
hehe…
my Mei…”
Kiana mumbled in her sleep.
“Kiana, it’s time to wake up,”
Mei shook her a bit harder.
But to her surprise, Kiana suddenly reached out, grabbed Mei’s hand, and pulled her into a tight embrace.
“Mei…
my Mei…
I wanna drink Mei’s milk…”
Kiana nuzzled against Mei, looking utterly blissful.
Mei’s face flushed red instantly.
She tried to scramble up, but Kiana was too strong for her to break free.
Clang!
“Ow!”
Bronya faceplanted a frying pan onto the floor with an expressionless face, then helped Mei up.
Kiana rubbed her head and opened her eyes.
Her bright blue eyes saw Mei holding hands with Bronya, and Mei face was still bright red.
Kiana stared wide-eyed, a terrible thought suddenly popping into her head.
“You brat, what did you do to Mei?!”
Kiana immediately demanded, hands on her hips.
“Idiot Kiana,”
Bronya replied, completely deadpan.
“Mei, Mei!
What just happened?!”
Kiana immediately turned to Mei.
“Alright, alright, stop fighting, you two,”
Mei let out a helpless sigh.
“Go wash up first, breakfast is almost ready.”
During breakfast, Kiana kept glaring at Bronya, but the latter completely ignored her.
Kiana wanted to know what had happened between the two of them before she woke up.
But neither Mei nor Bronya had any intention of telling her.
This only made Kiana’s wild imagination run even wilder.
Waking up to find her cute girlfriend with a bright red face standing next to someone else, and both of them refusing to say what happened—how could Kiana not get the wrong idea?
Noticing that Kiana was still brooding over what happened earlier, Mei felt a bit helpless.
“Kiana, seriously, nothing happened,”
Mei said to Kiana as the three of them walked down the streets of Nagazora.
“Wait, something’s not right.”
Bronya suddenly came to a halt, her guard raised.
“What is it?”
Mei asked, completely clueless.
Kiana scanned their surroundings and quickly tensed up as well.
Because right now, on the streets of Nagazora, there wasn’t a single zombie or Honkai Beast to be found!
“Ugh…”
Bronya suddenly shut her eyes in pain.
“Bronya, what’s wrong?”
Kiana and Raiden Mei watched with deep worry as Bronya’s face contorted in agony.
“I…
I don’t know…
It hurts so much…”
Bronya was in absolute agony, feeling as if her entire body was about to be torn to shreds.
“Honkai energy!”
Kiana’s pupils shrunk.
Why was the Honkai energy inside Bronya spiking so rapidly?
She had been wondering earlier.
A massive Honkai Eruption had just devastated Nagazora, and yesterday the streets were crawling with zombies and Honkai Beasts.
Yet today, they had vanished without a trace, and the local Honkai energy concentration had plummeted.
Now it all made sense—Bronya had absorbed it all.
“Sister…
Mei…
I don’t…
want to…”
With her consciousness fading, Bronya looked at Raiden Mei.
Panic filled her heart.
Why was this happening?
She knew exactly what happens when Honkai energy converges like this—a Herrscher would be born.
But hadn’t the Herrscher already appeared?
Why…
why was she turning into one too?
Raiden Mei, thinking Bronya wanted to hold her hand, reached out and firmly grasped Bronya’s slender hand.
But the next second, she felt something inside her being violently drained by Bronya.
“What…
what’s happening?”
Mei panicked a bit, but she still held onto Bronya’s hand tightly.
By now, Bronya had closed her eyes and completely blacked out.
Kiana stood there, feeling conflicted and uneasy.
Even though she couldn’t stand the shorty, she wasn’t the type to just leave someone to die.
But the problem was, Bronya’s current state…
“Bronya!
Bronya!
Don’t scare me like this!
Bronya!!!”
Mei held the unconscious Bronya in her arms, crying out in a panic.
Kiana stared at Bronya in silence, her blue eyes turning cold and calm.
Bronya had probably been corrupted by the Honkai energy.
“Sister Mei.”
A familiar, soft, child-like voice answered her.
Bronya, still in Mei’s arms, opened her eyes.
She looked much healthier, and a faint smile played on her lips.
However, Mei was baffled—why had Bronya’s pupils turned into beautiful gear shapes?
“Bronya, how are you feeling?”
Kiana asked hesitantly.
“I am fine.
Actually, I have never felt better.”
Bronya smiled gently, looking genuinely happy.
Yet, Kiana sensed that something was deeply wrong.
“Thank goodness…
I’m so glad you’re okay, Bronya!”
Mei wept tears of joy, hugging Bronya tightly.
“You…”
Kiana started, but hesitated.
“What is Idiotka Kiana trying to say?”
Bronya asked with a smile.
“What did you call me, you shorty?
I am not an idiot!”
Kiana snapped, instantly recognizing the familiar banter.
She crossed arms in annoyance, though one of her hands secretly crept toward the baseball bat behind her back.
“Kiana, stop messing around.”
Mei wiped the tears from her eyes and smiled happily at Bronya.
“Bronya, are you really okay?”
“Yes, Sister Mei, I am fine.
I just felt a little uncomfortable earlier.”
Bronya reached out to caress Mei’s cheek, her voice incredibly soft.
“Hey, shorty, get your hands off Mei!”
Kiana complained, her grip tightening on the bat.
Suddenly, a massive white floating battleship appeared right above them.
Mei couldn’t help but look up.
“Kiana, get away from her!
Bronya has turned into a Herrscher!”
A cute, youthful voice crackled anxiously through the battleship’s PA system.
Kiana, who had been on high alert, immediately grabbed Mei’s hand to pull her away.
But Mei’s other hand was firmly held by Bronya.
“Ah, seriously…
looks like Idiotka Kiana isn’t such an idiot after all.”
Bronya tilted her head, her adorable face devoid of expression.
Her silver eyes glowed brightly as the gears within her pupils began to spin.
“Hmph.”
With a cold face, Kiana swung her baseball bat.
She knew it—Bronya had indeed become a Herrscher.
…
“Finally gathered enough Honkai energy to ascend!
Huh?
Yo, let’s go!
I can actually write my own custom dialogue?!”
Early this morning, Ren, who had been controlling Bronya to clear out most of Nagazora’s map for Honkai energy, returned to the quest trigger point.
To his surprise, he found that he could customize the dialogue in the cutscene and have it read aloud!
A moment later, he noticed that the Hyperion had already arrived in the cutscene.
“Himeko and Theresa are here too?
That was fast.”
When he didn’t trigger the cutscenes, the game characters remained completely still.
Because of this, Ren hadn’t rushed to start the main quest.
Instead, he farm-grinded Honkai energy first.
Luckily, the story triggers weren’t forced, allowing him to control Bronya to farm zombies and Honkai Beasts everywhere until the Herrscher Core was fully charged.
However, as he watched the story unfold, it seemed like the plot of Honkai: Civilization was a bit different from Honkai Impact 3rd?
“Eh, whatever.”
Excitedly, he clicked on the Herrscher Core to start the transformation!
“Herrscher of Reason, Bronya, entering the battlefield!”
