CLANG!!!

A massive blue and gold shield blocked Kiana’s baseball bat with a deafening crash.

A giant robot materialized beside Bronya, raising its shield to deflect Kiana’s strike.Full novel: Honkai: How The Hell I Become Demon King!?? — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org

Bronya cute face still wore that same sweet smile, but in Kiana’s eyes, it now looked incredibly dangerous.

“Kiana, what’s going on?!”

Mei cried out, completely panicked and at a loss for what to do.

“Let go of Mei!”

Ignoring the question, Kiana swung her baseball bat once more.

Bronya simply smiled and let go of Mei as requested.

Kiana seized the chance to pull Mei into her arms, glare defensively at Bronya, and take a step back.

“Idiotka Kiana, why are you being so hostile toward me?”

Bronya asked in a flat tone.

“Kiana!”

At that moment, two figures descended from the sky.

One of them was Theresa, who rushed to Kiana’s side, staring at Bronya with equal vigilance.

“Nagazora already had a Herrscher.

How can there be a second one?”

Clad in her Valkyrie battlesuit and wielding a massive claymore, Himeko walked up slowly from behind Kiana’s group.

Her eyes were locked onto Bronya—or rather, the newly transformed Herrscher.

Seeing how guarded everyone was, Bronya put on a deeply hurt expression.

“We were all partners.

Why did it have to come to this?”

“Hmph!

A Herrscher?

Who’s your partner?!

Give Bronya back to us!”

Kiana shouted angrily.

Even though she and Bronya didn’t get along, she still didn’t want this new companion she had just met to turn into a Herrscher.

“Sigh, fine.

Let me reintroduce myself.”

Bronya slowly floated up into the air.

“I am Bronya, the Herrscher of Reason.”

A gorgeous Herrscher dress woven from blue, black, and white materialized around her.

She looked down coldly at the group below.

Though her transformation didn’t cause a cataclysmic shift, the words “Herrscher of Reason” immediately threw Theresa and Himeko into utter shock and confusion.

Even Cocolia, who was monitoring them, and Otto, who lurked deeper in the shadows, were stunned.

“That’s impossible!

The Herrscher of Reason appeared long ago, and he died long ago!”

Theresa retorted instinctively.

“Oh?

That man was no Herrscher.

Who said he was?

Did he say it himself?

Did you guys just assume it?

Or did the Honkai itself confirm it?”

Bronya looked at Theresa with amusement, completely dismissing her words.

“Me and my two friends here…

we are the only real Herrschers.”

She glanced at Raiden Mei and Kiana.

“The Herrscher of the Void, Kiana, and the Herrscher of Thunder, Raiden Mei!”

“HUH?!!!”

Everyone stood frozen, their minds completely blank for a moment.

“No way!

What the hell are you talking about?!”

Theresa refused to believe Kiana was a Herrscher, let alone the Herrscher of the Void!

She had seen the corpse of the Herrscher of the Void with her own eyes.

Kiana was also stunned, but she quickly came to her senses.

How on earth could she be the Herrscher of the Void?

She didn’t notice a flash of golden light flicker deep within her pupils, though it vanished just as quickly.

Bronya, however, caught it.

She watched Kiana for a moment, waiting for a reaction, but nothing happened.

Then Bronya turned her gaze to Raiden Mei, hoping the Herrscher of Thunder would wake up.

Unfortunately, Mei only looked terrified, showing no reaction whatsoever.

Bronya blinked her pretty eyes, sinking into thought.

What’s wrong with them?

Shouldn’t they immediately transform into the space-controlling Herrscher of the Void and the electromagnetic-wielding Herrscher of Thunder?

But then, she remembered something.

Oh right.

I sucked up all the Honkai energy in Nagazora.

Looks like Sirin can’t wake up without enough Honkai energy.

No wonder Kiana and Raiden Mei weren’t reacting.

How could they wake up with zero Honkai energy around?

Whoosh!

Several golden spears suddenly shot toward Bronya.

Clang!

Project Bunny easily swatted all the spears away with its shield.

Bronya snapped out of thoughts and looked at the hostile group.

“Are you sure you want to fight me?”

She sat back casually as Project Bunny extended its hand to catch her.

“Cut the chatter!”

Himeko didn’t hesitate.

She leapt into the air, raising her claymore to cleave Bronya in two.

Bronya didn’t even blink.

Beside her, Project Bunny blocked the blow with its shield and slammed it down, smashing Himeko straight into the ground.

“Himeko!”

Theresa rushed over to check on Himeko.

“Pew pew pew~”

Bronya cute-pointed her fingers at them.

Dozens of floating cannons, manifested by the power of the Herrscher of Reason, suddenly materialized around them.

“Oh no!”

Theresa’s face paled instantly.

Azure laser beams erupted from the floating cannons, blasting Kiana and the others head-on.

BOOM!!!

As it turned out, Bronya hadn’t been standing there chatting mindlessly.

She had been quietly constructing the cannons to give them a little surprise.

Project Bunny was still the same Project Bunny, but Bronya had given it a quick upgrade using Honkai energy.

The current Project Bunny was raw, unadulterated power!

As the saying goes, the Honkai is omnipotent.

Whatever Bronya could imagine, she could achieve as long as she had enough Honkai energy.

Kiana lay groaning in a crater.

Before she could even react, the laser barrage had severely wounded her.

Mei had blacked out too.

She never expected Bronya to play so dirty, opening fire without warning.

Theresa was relatively fine, with minor injuries, but she could see Himeko’s condition was critical.

“Damn it!”

She was furious and frantic.

If she hadn’t blocked most of the blasts with Judah just now, they would have all been wiped out.

Of course, this was only because Bronya was holding back.

She had more than enough power to build even more cannons and finish them off.

“Honestly, I don’t want to kill you guys,” Bronya’s earnest voice reached their ears.

“In a sense, you could all be part of the Herrscher family.”

Seeing their angry and disbelieving faces, Bronya added:

“I’m not lying, you know.”

She then looked at the unconscious Himeko.

Himeko was gravely injured, and with the Honkai corruption setting in, she wouldn’t survive long without help.

Bronya didn’t want her to die.

So, after a brief brainstorm, she manifested a garter that could heal Himeko wounds and neutralize the Honkai infection, slipping it onto Himeko shapely thigh.

“Get away from Himeko!”

Seeing Bronya strap something onto Himeko, Theresa charged forward in a rage.

“We’ll be meeting again very soon.”

Bronya didn’t pay any mind to them.

She flew into the sky and addressed the crowd below.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Suddenly, dozens of mechas appeared out of thin air, surrounding Bronya from all sides.

Bronya, who was originally planning to leave, couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.

Then, she simply extended her slender hand and made a light grasping motion towards the void.

In an instant, every single mecha short-circuited, bursting into a dazzling shower of sparks.

The Anti-Entropy mecha unit, which had been on screen for less than a second, was completely wiped out just like that.

“The war between Honkai and humanity…

will come very soon.”

Bronya calmly dropped those words.

She hopped onto her motorcycle—transformed from Project Bunny—cloaked herself in stealth, and zoomed away from the scene.

Nnn, she could feel it.

In just a little while, both Fu Hua and Durandal would come rushing over.

The current Bronya definitely wasn’t confident in beating the two of them at once.

If she didn’t run now, what was she waiting for?

The only sensible move was to lay low, build up her power, and then plan humanity’s destruction.

…

In Honkai: Civilization, the main quest was simple: destroy human civilization.

In fact, it was the one and only main quest, which unlocked right after defeating Theresa and her squad.

Ren didn’t really care much about the plot anyway.

He was already seriously pondering how to use the Herrscher of Reason to wipe out human civilization.

“First off, I gotta gather Honkai Energy,” Ren thought to himself while controlling Bronya to fly all the way north.

“To trigger a Honkai Eruption, you need large-scale human deaths first.

In other words, the death of intelligent life.”

“Wait, isn’t the power of the Herrscher of Reason about replication and construction?”

Connecting the dots, Ren already had a plan.

If the Honkai wanted to destroy civilization, the only way was to wipe out humanity.

And historically, the quickest way to end a civilization was through mass slaughter—something humans were no strangers to doing themselves.

Even though Ren was human too, this was just a game after all.

Besides, in games, kill counts were nothing more than numbers to Ren.

Uh, well…

that was mostly because he was also a Paradox grand strategy player.

The number of humans he had purged in games was beyond counting, not to mention non-human alien civilizations—those were calculated by entire planets or galaxies.
