The three of them barely spoke on the way home.
Silver Wolf hadn’t lifted her head once since leaving the company.
Her gaze remained firmly fixed on the tips of her shoes.
She didn’t dare look at Kafka.
More precisely, she didn’t dare make any kind of eye contact with those purple eyes.
Kafka walked along the outer side of the group at her usual unhurried pace.
She turned her head slightly, her gaze drifting over Silver Wolf as her voice remained gentle enough to sound like she was discussing the weather.
“Don’t go back tonight.
Stay over at my place.”
Silver Wolf shuddered.
Kafka still isn’t letting me off?!
“M-Maybe I shouldn’t…”
She made one final attempt at resistance, her voice growing quieter with every word.
“Firefly’s place…”
“Firefly is coming too.”
Kafka cut her off.
Her tone remained gentle, but the finality in that sentence left absolutely no room for negotiation.
Silver Wolf opened her mouth.
Nothing came out.
She stood there frozen for two seconds before her shoulders slumped, looking utterly resigned to her fate.
Beside her, Li Yedao suddenly raised his head.
“Firefly’s coming too?!”
Kafka nodded slightly.
“Mm.”
Li Yedao’s expression froze as well.
He had originally thought that once he survived this afternoon, he could finally go home and get some proper sleep.
Instead, the battlefront was apparently being extended all the way into the evening.
There was no need to guess what Firefly was thinking.
She was officially his girlfriend now.
And Li Yedao had already personally experienced just how many tricks Firefly could pull using that title.
With their respective worries weighing on them, the group eventually reached the villa.
Li Yedao opened the door.
The first thing he saw was someone sitting on the sofa.
Firefly had changed into comfortable clothes and was drinking water from a cup.
The moment she saw him enter, her eyes lit up.
“Yedao, you’re back!”
She immediately put down the cup, hurried over, and threw herself into his arms.
She gave him a tight hug.
The entire sequence was smooth and natural, as though she had rehearsed it countless times in her head beforehand.
At the other end of the sofa, Acheron sat quietly.
Her gaze settled on the two bodies pressed together.
Her expression didn’t change in the slightest.
But she didn’t look away either.
She simply continued staring, as though observing some strange natural phenomenon she had never encountered before.
“You two talk.
I’ll go make dinner.”
Kafka glanced at the embracing couple.
An unreadable curve appeared at the corner of her lips before she turned and headed into the kitchen.
Silver Wolf’s expression changed again.
Kafka was cooking?
Was that stuff even edible?!
She immediately darted behind Li Yedao and jabbed him hard in the lower back with her elbow.
“Hey.
You guys seriously let Kafka cook?”
Li Yedao looked at her in confusion after getting elbowed out of nowhere.
“What’s wrong with that?”
Silver Wolf stared at him speechlessly.
She lowered her voice.
“You’ve lived with her for this long and you still don’t know her cooking is really—”
Halfway through the sentence, she suddenly went silent as though someone had grabbed her by the throat.
Her mouth was still open.
But no sound came out.
Half a head had appeared around the kitchen doorway.
A pair of purple eyes calmly stared at her.
That same gentle smile still hung on Kafka’s face.
“…I didn’t say anything.”
Silver Wolf immediately lowered her head again.
Her cowardly reaction made Li Yedao and Firefly laugh at the same time.
Firefly laughed the hardest.
She leaned into Li Yedao, resting her head on his shoulder.
Her laughter was bright and clear—
Almost as though she were deliberately making sure someone heard it.
Li Yedao suddenly remembered that there was still another person sitting on the sofa.
He patted Firefly’s shoulder and pulled her slightly away from himself.
Then he nodded toward Acheron.
“Oh, right.
This is Acheron.
She’s my friend.”

innocent when it comes to certain things, so don’t bully her.”
Firefly and Silver Wolf both turned toward the sofa.
The purple-haired woman was still sitting upright in the same position.
Her back was straight.
Both hands rested neatly on her knees.
Those bottomless eyes calmly returned their gazes.
It wasn’t coldness.
Nor hostility.
It was simply an utterly pure, unembellished stare.
And somehow, that made chills crawl down their backs.
Firefly was the first to extend a hand.
She forced a polite smile onto her face.
“Hello.
I’m Yedao’s girlfriend.”
Acheron didn’t shake her hand.
She looked down at the outstretched hand.
Then back up at Firefly’s face.
Several seconds of silence passed before she asked,
“Girlfriend…
Her voice was completely serious.
There wasn’t even a trace of teasing in her expression.
The other three immediately realized—
She genuinely didn’t know.
Silver Wolf quietly leaned close to Li Yedao’s ear until her lips nearly brushed it.
“Where the hell did you catch this Pokémon?”
“Stop talking nonsense.
She’s my housemate.”
Li Yedao pushed her head away and lowered his voice.
“She lived here before I did.
I’m the one who moved in later.”
Still, even Li Yedao found it strange.
Acheron usually spoke very little.
If he asked her something, she answered.
If nobody asked her anything, she could easily go an entire day without speaking.
Curiosity was practically nonexistent in her.
Why had she suddenly asked about this?
Firefly withdrew her hand and restored her smile.
But when she looked at Acheron again, something difficult to describe had entered her gaze.
Part inspection.
Part declaration of ownership.
When she explained, her voice was sweet enough to melt sugar.
Yet she enunciated every word very clearly.
“A girlfriend means someone’s lover.

When she said the word lover, she turned toward Li Yedao.
Her eyes looked almost syrupy.
“Lover…”
Acheron nodded.
She seemed to be entering the word into some invisible dictionary inside her mind and searching for its definition.
A moment later, she spoke again.
Her voice remained calm.
“I’ll become his lover too.”
The air seemed to vanish from the living room.
Silver Wolf’s eyes widened.
Li Yedao froze.
The smile on Firefly’s face stiffened inch by inch until it settled into an expression that was neither quite a smile nor quite anger.

did you say?”
Her voice was soft.
Dangerously soft.
“I’ll become Li Yedao’s lover.”
Acheron repeated herself without changing a single word.
Her expression remained flawlessly serious.
Firefly’s face had already gone beyond merely looking ugly.
She stared fixedly at Acheron, both fists clenched so tightly that her knuckles turned white.
If Silver Wolf had said something like this, Firefly wouldn’t have cared much even if she were serious.
Silver Wolf’s threat level, in Firefly’s mind, was approximately zero.

“There’s no rule saying you can only marry one person, sure, but Firefly definitely isn’t the type who enjoys sharing.”
Li Yedao took a deep breath.
He pulled Silver Wolf’s arm off his neck and decided not to waste another word on someone enjoying his suffering this much.
He walked over to Firefly and stood directly in front of her, blocking the line of sight between her and Acheron.
“Alright.
Both of you, stop.”
He gently rubbed the top of Firefly’s head.
“Acheron’s pretty innocent and doesn’t really understand these things.”
“Don’t take it personally.”
Acheron looked at him without objecting.
She had always looked at Li Yedao this way.
No matter what he said—
He was right.
Firefly remained silent too.
She tilted her face upward and looked at him.
Her lips were pressed tightly together.
Her eyes were already filled with shimmering tears, ready to spill at any moment.
Li Yedao sighed inwardly.
Then he lowered his head and gently touched his lips to hers.
